I absolutely love this place. I usually drive two hours for a drive and the pizza. I lived in Chicago for twenty years and I still believe that this the best. HOWEVER PLEASE CALL AHEAD IF YOU WANT TO DINE IN; THE WEBSITE IS NOT KEPT CURRENT. I made the drive and the best offer was, they would make it and I could eat it in the parking lot. The food was mediocre at best and for some damn reason when there is a fountain drink producer in the open just sitting there. Busy at lunch as it should be. Lunch buffet is great, they bring a lot of varieties consistently to the bar during the lunch hour. Busy place but we could find a table. First, their prices are fantastic. We get a 16" thin crust with 3 toppings and our total usually comes to around $17 - including a pop and a water. The service is okay. Nothing to brag about, but not bad either. We sat out-of- view of the kitchen once and it seemed we were forgotten about, but I think that's a problem with the layout of the building more than the personalities of the employees. We try to sit in-view of the kitchen now and it works out better. Refills are a little slow but you're not forgotten about. The area where this restaurant really shines is the pizza. The pizza is soooo delicious. Always cooked perfectly. The crust is never burned, and the sauce is a great blend of sweet and spicy. Best pizza in Ashland, hands down! read more

While I can't speak to dining in or the buffet, I have had take out from Dor Lo once too many times. I remember when I first started visiting Ashland back in the late 80's, Dor Lo pizza was the bomb. I loved that it was cut in squares and I actually liked the taste of this pizza. Have my taste buds evolved that much or has their quality seriously gone downhill? I have to be honest - my last taste of this pizza was some of the worst I have ever endured. The pizza was so greasy, the grease actually soaked completely through the box. The pizza itself was bland and flavorless. The crust was soaked in grease and limp. There are much better options in Ashland. Do yourself a favor and try them out. read more

For many years my only knowledge of DorLo pizza has been their pizza wagon at Wayne County Fair. My daughter's participation in 4H had us at the fair all five days of the fair open to close. DorLo pizza of course was a go to place for all the kids including my daughter. My daughter picked up two pizzas last night for dinner, one deluxe, one meats. First time having DorLo outside of the fair experience. I had a slice of each pizza and was very disappointed in the lack of quality of a restaurant made pizza. First of all despite the fact that they were two different pizzas with different toppings it was hard to distinguish one from the other. The vegetables on the deluxe were so few and chopped so fine we couldn't really tell they were there. Honestly, I think they buy the cheapest ingredients they can find, nothing was good about this pizza. Not to mention the grease! My daughter is now 32 and I guess her taste has matured because she didn't care for it either. Thank goodness! read more

Dor Lo is one of those "love it or hate it" places. My friends like to frequent the buffet. Personally, the pizza is way too greasy for my liking. If you hold a piece vertically, you'll have a pretty decent puddle of grease underneath. You can practically see your face in it. Again, I have lots of friends who claim to love it, but it just isn't my cup of tea. I'd recommend Donna D's or Besta Fasta, instead. read more

This is a bitter sweet review. I went here today for lunch, the parking lot seemed to be emptier today than normal.. that should have been our first clue, to my dismay they no longer offer a buffet. Leaving and going somewhere else was brought up, but we stayed and ended up having a pretty good lunch. The food came out pretty quick after we ordered and was pretty good this was all of our first times ordering off of the menu. I ordered the Gyro sandwich with chips and an 8" cheese pizza. The Gyro was good but it seemed to be a little short on meat (I may just be spoiled from the delicious Gyro's at Athens Greek Restaurant) The meat seemed to be over cooked as well. The 8" pizza was really good as their pizza normally is. We were talking and we think that you may be able to get full by ordering off their menu for cheaper than their buffet cost, 3 of us went today and all three of us were full and paid less than we normally spend on the buffet. The gyro, 8" pizza, and pop cost me around $8.21, so not that wasn't bad at all. One of the guys I was with ordered the Steak Sub with Wedges and commented that it seemed to be light on meat as well, but he also stated that it was very filling. So we may be over emphasizing what we felt as a lack of meat because we both left feeling full, guess it could have been all the bread though. All in all I was satisfied with ordering off of the menu instead of eating the buffet, I will definitely go back and eat there again, it is still a good place to eat. read more

this. this is the best pizza in ohio. i went to dorlos 24 hours ago but i cannot get it off of my mind. the crew are so friendly, the atmosphere is very laid back, and the pizza is the bomb. they have so many topping options, pizza options, sub options, its very hard to beat. i had the white pizza and potato wedges and i almost lost my mind because it was so good. the prices are also very sensible and you really do get a bang for your buck. if you are from ohio and you've never been here you are seriously missing out. read more
