My friend and I were not greeted when we entered or when we left, even though we watched other customers receive a warm welcome. Then, I accidentally bumped into something, and instead of checking if I was okay, the staff at the registers laughed and whispered to each other. It was uncomfortable and unprofessional. I won't be returning. It's disappointing because I came in with high hopes that people here would be friendlier than what I'm used to back home, but the rudeness and lack of basic acknowledgment proved otherwise. They hold events ( fashion show when we were there ), they are keeping vacancy low, with some interesting stores one would not have seen in a mall back in the day. It is not one of these desolate malls with mostly rolled down grates and piles of shelving in the dark interior. There is a pulse to the place. The bookstore is a draw as it is so large ( and sometimes has kittens on Saturdays ). The shoestore is big too. The Belk is hanging in there, they have closed some entrances and fitting rooms, but it is not all stained carpets and broken shelving like one would see at Sears at the end.

The 2 chicken skewers were well flavored and the hummus was fantastic, but the pita slices and rice were average. The customer service was excellent. The pasta peeps very much enjoyed their creations and the grilled cheese was enjoyed. Unfortunately, little man couldn't eat the Mac and cheese because it was flavored with peppers and had some kick. Their website says they are a marketplace, gourmet food court, & a farmers market. There's about 12 small vendors that have tacos, poke and shaved ice, boba, coffee, Indian food just to name a few. It's centrally located in the quaint Main Street of Eustis, FL. Definitely a neat place to check out, and socialize and hang out with friends and family.

I was walking through the mall today and saw they were opening soon and inquired. The opening is the 27th with a preview on the 25th of October. Looks like a bigger location than previous years. Walking through Spanish Springs was a little nostalgic for me. Seeing one of the original gathering places getting such a major makeover feels like watching a piece of local history begin a whole new chapter. Even with construction underway, you can still feel the charm and character that made Spanish Springs such an important part of The Villages for more than 30 years. After three decades, I honestly think this renovation is much needed. The square is getting refreshed with beautiful new landscaping, updated gathering spaces, improved lighting, and renovated storefronts while still preserving the Spanish-style architecture that gives it so much personality. New additions include J.Jill, Coffee for the Soul, Barons Creek Vineyards, Blondie's Bar, and the new Genesis Health Club. Longtime favorites like Kilwins, Bella Vita Italian Steakhouse, Coastal del Mar Seafood Grill, Panera Bread, Flippers Pizzeria, Amerikanós Grille, and Ay! Jalisco continue to make this a place where you can easily spend an afternoon or evening. I can't wait to come back once everything is complete. Spanish Springs has always been the heart of the original Villages community, and I think this revitalization is exactly what it needed. It's refreshing to see such an iconic place being thoughtfully updated instead of losing the character that made people fall in love with it in the first place. One is the Save a Lot store, and the other is one of our favorite restaurants, the New China Buffet. But there is also a Family Dollar, though I use one right near my house, and a Bealls Outlet, which I occasionally go into but mostly I get clothes at thrift stores. A newer addition is the Treasure Mart flea market. It is an interesting place to check out, though as yet we haven't bought anything there yet. But it is a fair replacement for the Goodwill store that moved out. There are a few other small businesses, but I will let you discover them for yourself. Also, a couple of free standing buildings nearby contain a McDonald's and a Planet Fitness.
