At first, I saw a few items I liked, but the experience quickly went downhill. My friend and I were not greeted when we entered or when we left, even though we watched other customers receive a warm welcome. Then, I accidentally bumped into something, and instead of checking if I was okay, the staff at the registers laughed and whispered to each other. It was uncomfortable and unprofessional. I won't be returning. It's disappointing because I came in with high hopes that people here would be friendlier than what I'm used to back home, but the rudeness and lack of basic acknowledgment proved otherwise. Jenny and her staff should be doing much better.

I thought I had already reviewed this place…read more I like how the owners are trying hard to keep this place from floundering. They hold events ( fashion show when we were there ), they are keeping vacancy low, with some interesting stores one would not have seen in a mall back in the day. It is not one of these desolate malls with mostly rolled down grates and piles of shelving in the dark interior. There is a pulse to the place. The bookstore is a draw as it is so large ( and sometimes has kittens on Saturdays ). The shoestore is big too. The Belk is hanging in there, they have closed some entrances and fitting rooms, but it is not all stained carpets and broken shelving like one would see at Sears at the end.

Walking through here it is so nice and we usually come here when it's raining or super hot outside. We always have our dog with us and they are super dog friendly here. The food court has lots of options for good food, fast and not so fast too. Plenty of parking even though it can get crowded. I usually go there when I need to get a specific item. The place itself is clean, I liked that they're not the usually kiosks or sales people trying to sell you things, that's a plus for me when it comes to choosing a mall. I have some places that I like to go there for food, like the Cheesecake Factory and PF Changs. My daughter likes that there's a Claire's, and all the other Claire's around that we know are now closed. They have unique places when it comes to luxury brands, plenty of parking, but in peak season time can get difficult to find a parking close to the entrance. I go sometimes, and meet friends since it's near the touristic/universal studios area. They also have a big Apple store, that occasionally visit.

If you're looking for a typical mall experience on steroids, the Florida Mall is the way to go…read more I've never disliked this mall, but it definitely has a different feel than other local shopping centers. It is filled with tourists due to the connected hotel and proximity to the airport, so even on a Tuesday it felt packed in here. The layout feels almost like a labyrinth but there is a lot of signage on where to go. Most of the stores are ones you can find at most malls, but there are quite a bit of 'unique' stores as well. You've also got the Crayola experience, which is pretty large. While this mall wouldn't be my first choice to go to, it does do the trick if you're needing your fix of big name stores.

Visited The Florida Mall again for Xmas in July. Really love this event…read more They had some free samples like chocolates and churros and soap making and face painting and free Santa pics and some other pic OPPs. Last year we went and they had Christmas flamingos. They had more this year. They also passed out Christmas bags with Simon mall logo on them. I would be back for this event. My issue with The Florida Mall is that the A/C doesn't work well. It's a huge mall with tons of shops and tons of people walking around. They are so busy. We were looking for stores with the best A/C bc we couldn't really beat the heat here. Primark has the best A/C. Along with Armani Exchange, Ghirardelli bc of their chocolates, and The TNS Store. I wish I could have stayed longer but the lack of A/C made me want to leave. I very much loved the Xmas in July Event and Santa, Mrs. Claus, the elves, the photographer, and the other people working were so nice. The AC is sure lacking and this was the issue last year. Perhaps the big space, older mall and open ceiling exposing the sunshine sure doesn't help. This is a very popular mall. It could def be better here.

There are two outlet centers close to each other--Orlando International Premium Outlets and Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets--and both have a Disney Character Warehouse. If you're looking for discounted items for your Disney trip--or you're just a Disney fan--this is definitely the place to go. The price cuts compared to Walt Disney World are huge, and you can save a lot instead of paying those in-park prices. I've been here when it's super quiet, and I've also had to wait in line just to get inside--it really depends on timing. I've found everything from Lilly Pulitzer pieces to great clothing, accessories, and Disney bags. It can be hit or miss, but when you score, it's worth it. If you have kids--or just want to avoid breaking the bank--this is absolutely a must-stop.

Seeing one of the original gathering places getting such a major makeover feels like watching a piece of local history begin a whole new chapter. Even with construction underway, you can still feel the charm and character that made Spanish Springs such an important part of The Villages for more than 30 years. After three decades, I honestly think this renovation is much needed. The square is getting refreshed with beautiful new landscaping, updated gathering spaces, improved lighting, and renovated storefronts while still preserving the Spanish-style architecture that gives it so much personality. New additions include J.Jill, Coffee for the Soul, Barons Creek Vineyards, Blondie's Bar, and the new Genesis Health Club. Longtime favorites like Kilwins, Bella Vita Italian Steakhouse, Coastal del Mar Seafood Grill, Panera Bread, Flippers Pizzeria, Amerikanós Grille, and Ay! Jalisco continue to make this a place where you can easily spend an afternoon or evening. I can't wait to come back once everything is complete. Spanish Springs has always been the heart of the original Villages community, and I think this revitalization is exactly what it needed. It's refreshing to see such an iconic place being thoughtfully updated instead of losing the character that made people fall in love with it in the first place. I have a feeling it's going to become one of the most beautiful town squares in The Villages once again.
