It's basically just a lake with a trail around it. There's a little bit of parkland. All of this is surrounded by houses. It seems most people here are from around it. A few things for families. There's a small playground along with pretend dinosaur bones to climb on. There's also modern playground equipment like slides and swings. Also there's a shelter by the lake. This is good for picnics. Good park for exercising or playing around. It's located on Kautz Road. This is good for children, adults working out, or whoever.

The property is vast for a "way-out-there" feel, as opposed to nearby Herrick Lake which has the outdoor party ambiance.

How dare you have people wait for your slow behinds!! it was extremely hot and very inconveniencing to your patrons. And to make matters worse we didn't even get offered a discount for our inconvenience!! If offered a discount it would have at Least showed you had some professionalism but alas you didn't. Had you shown just an ounce of professionalism I would have possibly considered giving you another try. I wouldn't recommend Whalon Lake Kayak rental to my dog. There's a gorgeous row of trees that is stunning for a photo shoot. Bonus - It is free to park and explore here. There are picnic tables out front as well as public bathrooms and vending machines. Spend a few minutes or a few hours here. It's a great place to venture and check out. This was a very quiet and calming experience for me.

We rode from Elmhurst (Wild Trace Meadows) to Wheaton, and stopped there at the Farmers Market. You pass through so many towns! I wanted to take a quick tour of each one! I think we saw 2 port-o-potties, and a couple of water fountains as well. It's a great mix of both sun and shade. Like others have mentioned, be careful when crossing the streets. Some have very little traffic, but others are fast & busy!

It has been one year after receiving a bill for $650.00 for what I was told was a usage of 40,000…read moregallons in a one week time span due to "probably filling up my swimming pool" (I did not have one) or a "leaking toilet" (my toilets are newish). Lived here since 2013 and the amount owed has always ranged in the usual 135.00 per month, which is insane for one person who is rarely home and is frugal with water usage. They later came to my home (only because I disputed the amount) to take the meter that they placed in my home within the previous year or two, to have it tested. They later informed me that the water meter was perfectly fine and that I owed them the full amount. I have therefore been unwillingly making payments for a year. Now, after paying off that bill, I have received phone calls and a notice on my door threatening that my water service will be shut off if I don't call them to have them come to replace my meter. Today I received a letter stating " your water meter is either no longer registering- is broken, aged or has over 1,000,000 gallons usage and needs to be replaced". Coincidence!?!

This is a nice contrast to school parks which lack variety. The equipment was in good condition, although it could use some fresh wood chips. Here are some of the highlights: -Sheltered gazebo with a few picnic benches. Nice for a picnic or small party, or just to read while your kids play. -Benches around the park with plenty of sun (for those chillier days) -Swings for older and younger kids -Well paved path going around the lake for a nice walk -Doggie pick up bags and trash can to keep the park clean Other things to note: -No drinking fountain -No nearby bathrooms -Because of the location, there didn't seem to be many kids around in the early afternoon. We went on a school holiday as well, so it seemed like there should have been more kids out and about. Overall, this is a great place for kids and deserves more attention and recognition than it gets.
