We brought our extended family here (read: lots of kids!) to play for the afternoon. It was awesome! We walked the loop around the lake and played on all three playgrounds. I highly recommend for a leisurely morning or afternoon walk with or without company.

Waubonsie Lake is a beautifully maintained park that has lots of activities for the entire family. The nature trails are gorgeous and there is plenty of wild life to see (check out my pictures). If you have little ones, there are 4 playgrounds on the property that you can take them too. All toddler friendly, but with complex enough sections that the big kids will enjoy. There are several picnic tables and an area to grill. They allow rowboats and canoes out on the lake. We haven't tried fishing there yet, but the locals say it's one of the best spots in town!

The tiny "river"/"dam" area one of my favorite parts about the trail

This park is very beautiful!!! It has a bike trail for you to exercise on, or to just walk around it has three little parks that are around the trail!! While walking this trail I like to look at the unique houses around the path!! And yes, granted the lake can be a little swampy, but I think the scenery makes up for it! I really enjoy this lake and it is very relaxing!! Also it is beautiful on a sunny day!! Trust me I have to walk it almost everyday for gym class!!! Go try it out, I'm sure you'll enjoy it!!

Located near the similarly named Waubonsee Valley High School, Waubonsee Lake Park is a beautiful place to spend the day in nature, go for a run, or spend time with the kids. It has a paved path for running, walking, bike riding, and rollerblading that is approximately 3 miles long (it's even longer if you cross Eola), they have a beautiful lake that connects up to a small river, an outdoor shelter with an outdoor grill, a playground for the kids, bathrooms, and a water fountain. It's also conviniently located right off of US Rt 34 aka Ogden Ave. I highly recommend coming to this beautiful park and enjoying a day out in nature while getting in some exercise.

There is a gazebo with picnic tables, a playground area for the kids, and even fishing (I think).

That and the clarity can give you some really pretty views inside the lake. Not the best for fishing which is kinda a bummer. Roomer has it there's some good walleye here though. Overall such a beautiful lake and do recommend. mildly busy and there are kayak rentals available if you don't have your own

They were on time but their manager/supervisor was bringing them a key. Unfortunately for us, their manager didn't arrive until 1:45 almost 2 hours after our scheduled appointment time. The 2 workers were very apologetic with us responding it's not their fault. We would like to say to the management, do better!! How dare you have people wait for your slow behinds!! it was extremely hot and very inconveniencing to your patrons. And to make matters worse we didn't even get offered a discount for our inconvenience!! If offered a discount it would have at Least showed you had some professionalism but alas you didn't. Had you shown just an ounce of professionalism I would have possibly considered giving you another try. I wouldn't recommend Whalon Lake Kayak rental to my dog. Sincerely, Very hot and disappointed patron
