Have a good jog or just have a pleasant time walking around this park in Aurora. It of course has a lake in the middle of it. Waubonsie Lake Park is located in more of a residential area but it gets outsiders. A few amenities. There's a playground and a shelter. Chill place for the most part with people just walking around. It's basically just a lake with a trail around it. There's a little bit of parkland. All of this is surrounded by houses. It seems most people here are from around it. A few things for families. There's a small playground along with pretend dinosaur bones to climb on. There's also modern playground equipment like slides and swings. Also there's a shelter by the lake. This is good for picnics. Good park for exercising or playing around. It's located on Kautz Road. This is good for children, adults working out, or whoever. read more

This is such a beautiful park. The loop is around 3 miles and the area is all paved for easy walking or running. It backs up to a lot of houses which feels nice and gives it a more community like feel. There are always families around so it's a great spot to go solo or bring folks along. They have a picnic area and cute little park, as well. Highly recommend. read more

My kid took prom pix at this park! The scenery is breathtakingly stunning! There is a gazebo with picnic tables, a playground area for the kids, and even fishing (I think). We will be back to have a gathering this summer! I HIGHLY recommend this park if you want a nice beautiful place to relax and enjoy the nice weather and your families! Go check it out! read more

We brought our extended family here (read: lots of kids!) to play for the afternoon. It was awesome! We walked the loop around the lake and played on all three playgrounds. I highly recommend for a leisurely morning or afternoon walk with or without company. read more

Waubonsie Lake is a beautifully maintained park that has lots of activities for the entire family. The nature trails are gorgeous and there is plenty of wild life to see (check out my pictures). If you have little ones, there are 4 playgrounds on the property that you can take them too. All toddler friendly, but with complex enough sections that the big kids will enjoy. There are several picnic tables and an area to grill. They allow rowboats and canoes out on the lake. We haven't tried fishing there yet, but the locals say it's one of the best spots in town! read more

This park is very beautiful!!! It has a bike trail for you to exercise on, or to just walk around it has three little parks that are around the trail!! While walking this trail I like to look at the unique houses around the path!! And yes, granted the lake can be a little swampy, but I think the scenery makes up for it! I really enjoy this lake and it is very relaxing!! Also it is beautiful on a sunny day!! Trust me I have to walk it almost everyday for gym class!!! Located near the similarly named Waubonsee Valley High School, Waubonsee Lake Park is a beautiful place to spend the day in nature, go for a run, or spend time with the kids. It has a paved path for running, walking, bike riding, and rollerblading that is approximately 3 miles long (it's even longer if you cross Eola), they have a beautiful lake that connects up to a small river, an outdoor shelter with an outdoor grill, a playground for the kids, bathrooms, and a water fountain. It's also conviniently located right off of US Rt 34 aka Ogden Ave. I highly recommend coming to this beautiful park and enjoying a day out in nature while getting in some exercise. read more

What a beautiful park! Since this is a part of the Fox Valley Park District which is one of the best park districts around, you can walk around this park as much as you want 365 days a year and get the same beautiful path. The lake path is over two miles long so there are plenty of walking or running path to meet your needs. Also, there is a park for kids to play at so the kids can have a great time. read more

Awesome lake, park and trail!! I go jogging and biking a few times a week. I love that the lake trail branches out into other trails. Especially into the new forest trail. If you do the entire trail I believe it works out to 5 miles. One of the most amazing parts of this lake is being able to walk across it via man made stepping blocks. I'm not sure what you call this area but its extremely exciting. The kids love the idea of walking over the water as it falls over into the stream/river. They have several parks and two nice hills. A great fishing and cookout area with a very clean bathroom with drinking fountains. Another perk is that the Eola Community center is on the east side and you can get snacks or go to the library. Most importantly very safe, clean, and friendly people. read more

Nice little park with a walking/biking trail that winds around the small lake. New park finished in 2012 and has a nice little shelter area with fireplace. Didn't use but their appears to be a large playground for the kids which was in full use. The walking trail runs along the back of the homes in the neighborhood and my wife and I found it enjoyable and inviting. We found ourselves observing the decks, patios, and landscaping of the homes and commenting on the features we liked. The neighborhood seems friendly, one homeowner even set out a setup of water bowls next to one of the benches along the path, inviting those walking dogs to come and have a water break. read more

Nice short path, we have walked the dog here a few times. Lake is kinda green at times, but people keep their gardens very nice. People seem friendly so far. Nice pavilion too on the south end. read more

This is a great park to take your children. I like the playgrounds because they are not dirty. Its a pretty clean park overall. Its great for jogging & walking your dogs. It is also a good place to bbq if you get to reserve the kiosko by the lake but it is not as private as I would like it to be. read more
