Dr. Cheung is incredibly patient, enthusiastic and clearly passionate about teaching. He takes the time to meet my son where he is which has made a big difference in both his confidence and consistency. My son has made leaps and bounds since starting lessons with him and it's been really rewarding to watch that progress. My son has had a few injuries from BJJ and wrestling and Dr. Cheung worked with him to adapt lessons so he could continue practicing using one hand. That level of support and problem solving meant a lot. One thing I especially appreciate about MACSA is how many opportunities they offer beyond weekly lessons. There are regular performance opportunities and competitions, which give students a chance to grow, build confidence and apply what they're learning in a meaningful way. The pianos the students get to practice on are also beautiful which adds to the overall experience and makes it feel even more special. It feels like a place that truly supports both skill development and a genuine love for music. I'm really glad we found it.

The store is small and sandwiched between Cheesy Janes and Half Price Books. Absolutely carried everything I needed. I imagine they're packed before band events! My son, after the 2 classes and missing the 3rd decided he didn't want to return. I made a payment on the day he was due to return, and an hour later he told me he didn't want to go back. I called and asked if they could refund my payment since we won't be attending the second half of the sessions, and was told it's against policy. Prior to making the payment, I received a text that he was no longer enrolled because of lack of payment. They were completely fine with unenrolling him for lack of payment but once I paid it, that seemed to evade them. Now it's "our instructors depend on that." They're depending on fees from the parents of finicky kids. It's disgusting and predatory. They shouldn't be offering classes for kids if they don't understand their nature. Not to mention having my son walk through the weeds to some creepy shed where the class was held. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
