Only once can I think of a positive experience which was one I dropped the instrument off for repair about a week and half ago. This was the only time I was not talked down to or made to feel uncomfortable. I've played clarinet for over 20 years...I'm not dumb regarding what I need, etc Today will be my last visit to this store. In early August, we overhauled his clarinet with new pads. My son had some bent keys and things that needed to be addressed recently, but I was surprised to see one of those things was 4 new pads in less than 10 months. I mentioned it to the individual assisting me and he was like no that's normal, etc. He became very condescending towards me. From my experience, that is not normal, so I am within my right to question it. The older gentleman on the back just kind of nodded his head and didn't make any comments. As I was reviewing the receipt with the repairs and examining the instrument, he walked over to the door and stood in a semi confrontational stance and stared at me as if to hurry me up and rush me out of the store. Go to another shop that will appreciate you, your business, and not talk down to you.

We've had a really positive experience with MACSA. My son takes music lessons with Dr. Jimmy Cheung…read moreand it's been such a great fit for him. Dr. Cheung is incredibly patient, enthusiastic and clearly passionate about teaching. He takes the time to meet my son where he is which has made a big difference in both his confidence and consistency. My son has made leaps and bounds since starting lessons with him and it's been really rewarding to watch that progress. My son has had a few injuries from BJJ and wrestling and Dr. Cheung worked with him to adapt lessons so he could continue practicing using one hand. That level of support and problem solving meant a lot. One thing I especially appreciate about MACSA is how many opportunities they offer beyond weekly lessons. There are regular performance opportunities and competitions, which give students a chance to grow, build confidence and apply what they're learning in a meaningful way. The pianos the students get to practice on are also beautiful which adds to the overall experience and makes it feel even more special. It feels like a place that truly supports both skill development and a genuine love for music. I'm really glad we found it.

My husband tried to return on the 13th but the location was closed (with no notification). I left message for Judy on Sat and she never called me back. I called back today and they want us to drive to Boerne or Bandera this afternoon to return it (if I want to be credited back for May). I asked if I could return tomorrow because I don't have time to make a 1-hour trip before I have to pick up my daughter and they said no. I regret not renting from Terra Nova--they are way more professional.

We ended up staying for at least 20 minutes. I am very interested in signing my daughter up for violin lessons and the store clerk took the time to patiently explain the different sizes of their violins, the craft and care their violins were purchases with, and their rent to own process. Incentives for paying cash up front but if you're renting one size that your child quickly out grows, your monthly payments will simply transfer to payment for the next size up. The store is small and sandwiched between Cheesy Janes and Half Price Books. Absolutely carried everything I needed. I imagine they're packed before band events! They are also closely connected to area high schools, middle schools, and elementary school music programs and take into consideration preferences and resale values of desired brands, etc. Enjoyed it a lot, loyal customer, for sure.

If you are looking for a new guitar to buy online, the first place you should checkout is Alamo…read moreMusic Center out of San Antonio, TX. Let me tell you why. There are so many things to consider when buying online. You need to know that the people you are dealing with are honest and honorable. You will not find better people than Chris McKee and Cooper Greenberg. They are the best. You also want to make sure the people that you talk to are guitar experts. Just check out Chris' and Coopers' You Tube channel, Alamo Music Center, and watch their informative and entertaining guitar review videos. You will come away impressed by their expertise and knowledge. They want to make sure you select a guitar that meets your criteria and your needs rather than just trying to sell you a guitar. You want a store that treats the customer with respect and bends over backwards to make sure a customer is satisfied. I can vouch from personal experience that they know how to treat a customer right. I have purchased guitars from some of the biggest guitar places in the US and none of them come even close to meeting all of the criteria I have listed above, except for Alamo Music Center. I have purchased my last two guitars from them and will always go to Alamo Music Center first. Check them out and maybe like me Alamo Music Center will become your favorite and go to guitar store. Pro Tip: When they have a sale pay attention and peruse the inventory for your next guitar. Their deals are fantastic! Thank you, Alamo Music Center!

My most recent purchase was for a used guitar with a face that only a mother would love, but that was okay with me. The entire purchase was done entirely by text and their representative, Cooper, answered all of my questions, some of them nitpicking, patiently and completely. The price was fair. Response timely. He even sent me pics and a video of him playing it. So helpful. While I have bought guitars and gear from other online outfits Alamo's service takes the prize. Highly recommended.
