The Quesadilla Platter was filling and delicious.
    Melissa R.

On a quiet July 4th weekend, we were in the mood for margaritas and Mexican food, so we decided to visit Dos Gringos. It had been a while since we were there last. One thing I love about Dos Gringos is that they're byob. We brought our own quality tequila, and they had a choice of 4 mixes served in a pitcher which made it easy to add the tequila. We went with the traditional lime with salted rims. We also loved the unlimited chips and salsa and appreciated that there were a few varieties of salsa. Our window seat was comfortable, and we couldn't have asked for better service as our chips were refilled a few times. For dinner, my daughter and I ordered the quesadilla platter. Ours were very similar except I ordered the shrimp quesadillas, and she went with the traditional pork. There were 3 large portions. My husband ordered the chicken enchiladas. We all loved the rice and beans that accompanied each dish and left happily full with lunch for the next day. Our server even offered us a container for our leftover margarita mix!

Cute little restaurant with great food, service, and atmosphere. The menu has a lot to choose from but I got the wild Sockeye salmon special and it was perfectly grilled. The guacamole is the best--freshly made with some chunks left in for rustic character. Free chips and choice of homemade salsa for the table keeps the convo going while your meal is being prepared.

Packaged in a brown bag with the restaurant logo on it the takeout nachos were packed superbly. They were delicious and visually appealing unlike the place up the block.

We used Dos Gringos catering this weekend and can't say enough good things about it! We had more than enough food for all our guests and it was absolutely delicious! Greg couldn't have made it easier to place the order and to pick it all up. Everything came at a great price. Will be using Dos Gringos for catering again in the future!

The food was just ok. I would just say it's average (3 stars). I had the enchiladas in their verde sauce, some chips with gaucemole, and hubby had their burrito. The gaucemole was very bland and needed salt, however the chips were delicious. You can tell they were fresh. Enchiladas were standard. Didn't have enough meat in it, but the flavoring was there. The reason for the bump down? I saw a server drop a pair of utensils when setting up tables and picked it back up and placed it on the table. Ewww wth! Will I be back? Probably not. There are plenty of Mexican joints around.

I have been to this restaurant twice. Both times I dined outside, the most recent time for Dining Under the Stars. The service was a little slow in the beginning, but it picked up after we finally got our orders in. The reservation system is a little inconvenient that the maximum party size is 6 even if you call in to make the reservation, so I had to make two reservations since I had over 6 people, but at the end the hostess let us all sit together even though it was a tight table for 7 people. The Mexican street corn was delicious. The Plantanos Maduros were surprisingly refreshing. The plantains were not deep fried. They were perfectly cooked and not too soft. The best party were the margarita mixes. You can all your own tequila into your cup. We ordered the Blood Orange and Pineapple Passionfruit. The kids were able to just drink the mixes as juice. I found a bone in my chicken quesadilla, which tells me the chicken was freshly shredded. It was also very well seasoned. The first two bags of chips we got were broken and in small pieces. The third bag was great. We ordered mild and medium spiciness salsas, but medium was not really spicy at all. The service was friendly and the ambience was great outdoors.

I recently ordered take out during lunch time from Dos Gringos. Dos Gringos in Media is located down a hill in a small space. They have some outside seating which I guess is great in the spring and early fall. The space for dinning inside is very tight. I would not recommend visiting with a large party. I ordered the surf and turf burrito with no turf. So basically I had a shrimp burrito. The burrito was really good. The spice flavors were really well blended. It did not taste to hot or like a ton of cumin. The burrito was huge stuffed with peppers, shrimp, rice, beans and cheese. The burrito came with a small side of chips. These were great to scoop up the remains that fell from the bottom. The price was a little steep. I kind of question an 11 dollar burrito. All in all the young lady at the counter was friendly, my food was ready when I arrived and it was good.

They have chilaquiles on the menu. That's enough to get 5 starts from me. I say that because they are my favorite Mexican item and most places don't offer it. The other awesome thing is they can make them vegetarian which is perfect for me (being a pescatarian). I love the salsas; we had salsa verde and mild. I LOVED their mild, it was so good! We also got the guacamole with crab meat. I had never had crab with guacamole, a whole new world was opened for me. I had water but it's BYOT - bring your own tequila. It looks like a lot of people took advantage of that and I'll remember that for next time.

Daily special adobo chicken taco for $16

Server was very friendly and kind. There was some confusion as I asked if I could have the yucca frites without sauce and shrimp with my meal. The owner did not want to charge me full price or give them to me as a side dish as he only had a few left. We ended up spending $32 plus tip for 6 small tacos. The flavor was good and everything was fresh. We ate outside as non of the staff was wearing masks.

I usually don't even eat Mexican food, I'm just not a huge fan. But I guess I've just never had good Mexican food because I LOVE this place. Whenever I go, I get the fish tacos. They're delicious. And always start with some chips & guac. My boyfriend has never been out for Mexican food so I took him here and he loved it also! It's small, but in a good way. At lunch, you order at the register, but at dinner it's table service. The staff is really friendly. If the only Mexican you've been eating is chipotle, definitely give here a try!

Chicken enchiladas with veggies on top. Amazing!!

Is this a good place to go with a party of 5 or more?

We accommodate parties up to 8 people any night and we accept reservations as well! A larger party would want to call ahead and discuss specifics as to the day and time. We are small place but it means a more personal experience!

After checking into my hotel, I made it my duty to head over there for happy hour. I'm glad I got there shortly after happy hour started because the bar started getting packed after a while. One thing I was happy to see was a happy hour with happy hour prices. $6 drinks and $6 food items can't be beat! I had a mango mojito followed by an apple margarita. I had the chips and guacamole, chicken tacos, and their famous (to me) bread pudding. That bread pudding is still as delicious as I remembered it to be. The bartender was nice and managed the crowd very well. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and would definitely return when I'm in the area again. I just pray this location never closes as it seems all the others have.

It was not crowded at lunch, but we got there when it first opened. We looked at the food up front, and inquired about the things that looked good. We ordered the pernil, sweet plantains, goat, skirt steak, winter squash stuffed with chicken, shrimp ceviche, mashed potatoes, yellow rice & beans, and tres leches. That was a lot of food- and we had it for lunch and dinner. We have leftovers for tomorrow. Everything was delicious. I usually don't like mashed potatoes at restaurants, but I liked these. But then I walked into this spot and was immediately hit with the holy trinity: merengue, típico, and bachata blasting like it was a Saturday in Santiago. First off, shoutout to Christine--our waitress--who was sweet, chill, and had us feeling like VIPs. Then there's Jasmine, aka the Mamajuana Queen . She knew my happiness window was limited, so she made it her mission to turn the vibe ALL the way up. And then... she hit us with the cured Mamajuana shots. Not just a drink--this was ancestral medicine. Now let's talk FOOD. Dominican sushi. Yes. Tres. Golpes. In. A. Sushi. Roll. I almost cried. Then came the skirt steak with tostones and baby, let me tell you... I've never looked at a plate with that much respect. My husband had pork chops with arroz y habichuelas, and my friend smashed the chimi tostones like it was her last meal on Earth. The place? Clean. Cute. Culture-rich. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME…read more I have lived a third of my life in Peru and this is NOT good Peruvian food. We ordered three of the most "typical" and delicious dishes: ceviche, lomo saltado, and pollo a la braza. where do I begin. In the CEVICHE the fish was in long flat slices instead of smallish cubes. Additionally, it was a very small portion of fish! The seasoning was good but the both the cancha (toasted corn kernels) and the piece of boiled corn tasted old and stale. The one small piece of sweet potato was good. There was way too much onion for small, flat sliced portion of fish. The POLLO A LA BRASA could easily have been rotisserie chicken from ShopRite. It was more mushy than firm as though it had been over marinated or overcooked or both. The fries were limp. The accompanying sauce tasted like an American version of a Peruvian sauce. The saltado was just okay. The meat was a bit tough and it had many more of the inexpensive veggies than meat. Fries, part of the dish, were off to one side. It looked like they had gotten a small order of fast food fries and chucked it on the plate. The SERVICE stunk too! They forgot to ring up my flan though it was listed in the order. We paid before we realized it and then didn't have any cash to pay for it and they wouldn't take a credit card because of the $10 card minimum. Seriously?
