I have no complaints about this location and have liked everything I've ordered here. I've had occasions where service was slow, but overall I don't think it's a huge problem. Their prices aren't bad and for roughly $5.50 you can get a pretty good taco. Their strongest point is their smoothies, of which they have many. They've got something sweet or savory for any palate. I was a bit disappointed that they only offer 4 types of acai/pitaya bowls, with no build-your-own option, but that's not what they specialize in so I can't complain too much. I had flavorful fish tacos and a flavorful Pina Colada. It felt a bit pricy, especially for their limited hours, but I had a good meal. I had always wanted to try this place but was never around at the right time until recently. I was hoping to try Artisan Boulangerie in Media but they have been closed for a little awhile sadly now. I ended up here instead. I couldn't find any reviews on the fish tacos within the last 2-3 pages of reviews. So we went to Media to get a late breakfast or an early lunch in anticipation for an evening party that would have lots of food. I had an egg fixation. We had our minds set on our favorite coffee house and then found out that their menu had basically become pastries and some sweets. What were we to do? Fortunately, we walked to Jaco and had a wonderful meal, although more than we needed but we ate every bite and morsel of food, it was so incredibly good.... And on top of that, all day breakfast which satiated my protein need. Service was a cinch and after ordering, we waited less than five minutes. Fresh lemonade to begin with. Then a Bacon Hot Mess Quesadilla which featured organic scrambled egg (I asked for an extra egg and it was egg-licious), bacon, potato, caramelized onion, roasted red pepper, monterey/cheddar, and american cheese. Calorie bomb for sure but well worth it. My hubby had a breakfast taco which although simpler, was also delish.... And I was still hungry and had another Chicken Adobo. Also amazing..... Service was good, though I only talked to the woman at the cashier briefly. Pretty cool spot. I always stop by whenever I'm in the area. The owners are quite nice and welcoming. Love the fish tacos and chicken tacos. The guac and salsa are fresh and delicious. Prices are also very decent so there are always a good amount of people dining in. At some point I'm sure I'll get to try everything on the menu. read more

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii Yelpers, I discovered this place by pure luck! One day, I stopped at one of my favorite Asian restaurants (I'll post about them later) to pick up some Sautéed vegetables. As I sat in my car, I kept seeing people walking pass with smoothies. At this point, I had my head out the driver side window looking for a business that have the "I sell smoothies" look. I stuck my head back into the car due to neck hurting from looking up and down the street. Minutes later, another person walked pass my vehicle with a smoothie. At this time, I put my 20/20 vision to use. I looked at the cup for the writing and it read, JACO! I got excited and Googled it. Next thing you know, I got out of the car and jumped straight in the line. The items below are ranked in a scaling format from 0-5 (and 5 being Highly Tasty & Recommended) as follows: (3.5)-SPINACH COLATA Banana, pineapple, spinach, coconut water, shredded coconut, chia and agave (4.5)-ADOBO CHICKEN Chicken breast, cabbage slaw, cotija cheese, roasted poblano crema and tomatillo salsa The smoothie was alright, but very healthy. So as we walked to go to another place to eat this morning it was closed and we found a gem. It was a great morning to walk but to are surprise we had found a place where tacos were acceptable in the morning. We arrived at Jaco Juice & Taco Bar, it was kinda cute decorated and some art in the other building for a fantastic view. We then went to get/wait for a menu but, it was on the side so we could look without touching or risking ourselves of COVID. The sun shining tables outside and delicious food what better place to be.? Jaco Juice &Taco Bar to the rescuer of hanger also known as someone being hangry. We got to drink the amazing Yolo smoothie and island in the sun smoothie as well as the Hot Mess Quesadilla w/ a Manhattan bagel with cream cheese. It was delicious, as I write I'm actually craving for another smoothie. The food was fresh, juicy, and unique which ranks number one in my book. The hot mess was a good recommendation from the worker I forgot his name but it was spot on for me. The bagel was hot, warm and made to the T. Looking around to make a return we left with full bellies and a smile on our face, knowing how good the place was and would like to return for another selection another time. read more

I was in the food service industry for 20plus years I'll never go back. Spent 50+ dollars on lunch for 2 they forgot my crème and my bowl was missing half of the ingredients. I really should have read the reviews before heading into this place for lunch. As others have said, it was okay but nothing to write home about, and it's definitely more expensive than other taco places. I did enjoy my teeny tiny tacos - I had the vegetarian taco with corn and guacamole in it, and the chorizo. I must admit the chorizo was really good and I could tell the ingredients in the veg one were fresh, but they were just so small. My husband's burrito wasn't a bad size but nowhere near as large as other places that sell them at about the same price. The chips... oh the chips. Sorry, but they didn't seem homemade or fried, nor did they appear to have any salt on them as advertised. The salsa was good though and reminded me of the salsa at Chili's. Also enjoyed the hot sauce that was on the table. It wasn't that hot but had an interesting flavor to it... Don't think I've ever tried a hot sauce with butter and basil in it. Anyway, my husband wasn't impressed so it's probably a one and done kind of place for me, but I'd be down to try it again with some girlfriends sometime. read more

**Writing this as a warning to people who want tacos. Can't speak about their juices-might be a place worthy of that instead. ** Very NOT good product. Just had my first and last experience. The girl that rang me up was nice but seemed like everyone else in there was just over working and were hassled by me being there. The main issue however is that my order was wrong and poorly assembled. I didn't realize til I got to my destination (to go order). I do not plan on going back to waste my time because of the wrong tacos and a bland mushed burnt burrito. Dos Gringos is right around the corner and in my opinion a much more decent product worth the money. The definition of insanity is doing something the same way and expecting different results. I have gone insane constantly going back to jaco expecting better service. Their website says "friendly service" ??? Yeah not here lol I have given this place multiple tries and I am constantly disappointed. Everytime I go here my order is messed up, literally e-ve-r-y-t-i-m-e. Theres no point in ordering anything because i get something totally different! There are too many unnecessary transactions that can easily avoided if jaco got the order correct. The staff is rude and food is mediocre at best. The place is swarming with flies and the manager gaslit my friend. It might be prudent for the staff to turn down the blaring country music so they can hear what people are ordering! Jaco's menu offerings are awfully niche -- tacos, burritos, and smoothies. I came for an afternoon bite and got two baco tacos with the $6.95 deal. You better like corn if you order this, because the dish is more like 'sweet corn with a side of a corn tortilla.' I do like corn thankfully, and thought the plate hit the spot. The guacamole tasted a bit off, though -- it had likely seen better days in terms of ripeness! One complaint is that they didn't include a fork in my takeout bag. But go off for saving the environment if that was the idea behind it! read more

9/4/2018 I went back a second time. With a friend. They thought it was lackluster as well and we had to wait a really long time for food. Mediocre food. The burrito bowl is smaller and it is 8 dollars. Not worth it. I give up. ************** I did the takeout window here and took the food back to work. The service at the window was friendly and kind. I got two things a roasted veggie burrito bowl and the Plain Jane smoothie. The total was 15 dollars. I think that is kind of expensive but I chalked it up to being in Media and on State Street. The roasted veggie bowl is small. The menu list seasonal veggies along with potatoes, white beans and cheese. I guess corn and kale and red peppers are seasonal? At any rate the bowl is not very impressive. Rice with cooked veggies is what it amounts to. There was an avocado creme and salsa condiment on the side. It made the bowl a tad more tasteful. The drink was a disappointment. It has strawberry, blueberry, vanilla yogurt, Cinnamon and agave in it. It taste pretty much like unrippenstrawberries. I tried stirring it. The cinnamon came through. Went a about a year ago. The food wasn't edible, they nickel and dimed my friend and I for every little change to our orders instead of letting us substitute anything. In the end I spent more than $15 on cold tacos I could barely choke down and a juice that was undrinkable. My friend liked her Açai bowl, but not her entrée. Hopefully they've gotten better since then. Media has two other Mexican places just blocks away. Diego's has better tacos and their other food is good. Dos Gringos is adequate, still pricy depending on your order, but less BS than Jaco Juice & Taco Bar. read more

I stopped here with friends randomly while walking around Media. I was immediately excited by the fact they have Mexican food and smoothies/juices. That's not something you see often but it's two things I really enjoy! We were only there for afternoon snacks, but I had the PB&J smoothie with PB powder, which was advertised as being much lower in fat than regular PB. I love that they had that as an option. We also had chips and salsa and guac, and this was the first place that charged $2.50 for guac instead of the normal $8-12 you see in Philly. The chips, guac, and salsa were all great. My friends enjoyed their smoothies/juices as well (I should also mention they have a pretty extensive selection of both). The service was friendly; and despite this place being more of a fast casual spot, we got table service which was a nice surprise. I wanted to try more and I doubt I will be in Media soon; but if I am I will definitely be back! read more

My family and i visit every week. We've never experienced a wrong order, rude staff, or mediocre food. We loved how inviting the manager was to our toddlers after walking out of a horrible experience at First Watch. It's our favorite breakfast spot in our favorite town, and it's sad to hear people trash them. Some of these reviews sound like spoiled brats who weren't waited on hand and foot. read more

Update 2/13/19 They've lost their luster. I've read some of the comments on Yelp and have found the food to be good, but the service is lacking. My trip this week, I came in 15 minutes before closing and was accommodated with my burritos, but the kitchen staff received an apology (right in front of me) for having to make my item. I have worked in food service, I know grills have to be turned off, cleaned, appliances have to be cleaned in preparation for closing. I understand that a closed restaurant with staff cleaning after closing is not making a profit. But really? Apologize that you're unable to complete that request rather than indirectly scold a customer for patronizing your establishment. Management needs to pay attention to comments regarding staff here, the food is good, but not so delicious that it makes up for the low-energy, lackluster staff. Acai bowls, who knew? So I'm tried this little place on a whim heading to one of my favorite coffee places. I like soft shell tacos and Jaco Taco has a variety of tacos combos as well as burritos and quesadillas. My husband says the "Hot Mess" breakfast burrito is great. So each time I tried the tacos, until 2 weeks ago I stopped in and noticed people eating what looked like oatmeal and I thought it looked tasty and decided to try it out. I didn't see oatmeal so I leaned over and asked the other patron what it was and she said an "Acai Bowl". Never heard of it but she said it's "sooooo good!" OMG, so wonderful! It's like frozen yogurt but healthier. Google Acai for details. Needless to say I went back 3 times that week for another Acai bowl, and I haven't slowed down since. The staff is friendly. The fresh juice is a bit overpriced but balanced in flavor. Tacos are OK, I like them, but I'm not wowed by them. All around a decent place to eat. It's really too bad, because the first time I got takeout from here, about two weeks ago, the tacos were delicious. Not today. Today, we ordered four tacos and all were disappointing in one way or another. The adobo chicken taco needs to have the chicken cut up in smaller pieces to make it manageable. Because they use just one tortilla, it falls apart before one can finish, making for a very messy dish. The chicken needed better seasoning. The slow cooked pulled pork taco was ok but the proportions were off. There was too much insipid meat and not enough (promised) cabbage slaw, cotija cheese, roasted poblano cheese, or tomatillo salsa - negligible to invisible amounts of the last four items. And, once again, if you are going to overfill a taco with meat, wrap it in two tortillas. Last, the braised beef just had to be thrown away. The beef was oily and insipid and there was nothing on the taco except an abundance of shredded iceberg lettuce - absolutely no caramelized onions, no cotija cheese, no roasted poblano cheese, and no tomatillo salsa. We placed our order shortly before they closed for the evening. It is important that a restaurant care as much about the quality of its food with its first customer of the day as it does with its last. If it is running out of key ingredients to a dish, it should stop selling that dish for the evening. So it was not an atrocious experience but certainly a missed opportunity to hold on to a fan. read more

I visited for lunch yesterday and it was great! I had two fish tacos and an Acai Smoothie. The tacos were $7 for two and the juices are all around $2. You can also get a shot of wheatgrass (YES)! I would suggest getting four tacos if you don't get a juice because they aren't very filling but the water is even cucumber infused so this place is amazing! They have/sell Hank's herb infused hot sauce- DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED! My only downfall was that I ordered tacos to go for my friend and they forgot to give me the food that was ready for 20 minutes. They apologized repeatedly and were extremely nice after they realized it! Great place. I will definitely be going back for more! read more

Food is average. The staff is just a bunch of children gossiping. Half of the workers were on the phone. The cook is out just standing around. The uber was going off for five minutes. We sat at a table and no one came over for at least 10 minutes, which I could understand if it was busy, but there was no other customers in the store. Went back again this morning with friends and had a variety of pressed juices. Line is not typically long and the staff are very friendly. They have a take out window too which is super convenient when you're in a rush. Only downside is that it closes at 5. Get the baco. Great mix of OJ ginger and carrot. read more

I used to love this place as my go-to lunch spot, until today. The younger women who work there never smile and look like they are being tortured to be at work. It really makes it a miserable experience to be greeted with a smug look. On a disgusting note, you can see into the kitchen where the chef was not wearing gloves. My friend and I saw the chef pick food out of a bowl with his bare hands and then pat it back down into the bowl. We also saw him sprinkle food to garnish a bowl with his bare hands. A microwave was also used numerous times. This place is not cheap to be receiving microwaved food. Unacceptable. I threw my food away. read more

I was really excited about JACO initially, but their hours have made it difficult to enjoy their food and smoothies. You'll never eat here unless you work in media. They're usually still closed around 7:30am, so you can't grab a smoothie before work. They close early on weeknights so going for dinner or a late snack is not an option. Google and Yelp both say they open at 7am, but I've stood outside and looked inside as late as 7:45 and the sign still says closed and the doors are locked. read more

I came in for pickup and the staff was very friendly! I got the fish taco and the Island in the sun smoothie, and all I can say is no wonder they are JACO favorites!
