It's been a long time since I played this course and I finally made it my mission to go back to Dos Lagos Golf Course. I would have given them 5 stars if they had a driving range instead of a small one person netted section where you can only use your irons. Besides that, I loved the course. The fairways and greens were well maintained. Quite a few challenging holes. I would like to thank Ruth from the Pro Shop who checked me in and grouped me with a couple of regulars who knew the course and I had a pleasure playing with. Can't believe this course bought new golf carts with out the shield. No one expects GPS but I think most expect a windshield. Just how cheap can you be? Along with being cheap how much would it cost to put a toilet seat on the toilet on the back 9. I could install one myself. pro shop worker was very nice and welcoming, wish they spread out the tee times more, played at a very slow pace and had to wait on others.

The worse golf course in Southern California. The fairway like freeway concreate and the club house manager put the car path role that is outrageous as why since you drive on dirt fairway . They need to pay me to play in this course save your time and find a better course to play . The idea of car path only is stupid. read more

Great experience, walked in with my friend to play 18 holes each. Thanks to the person working behind the counter, we only had to pay for one person to golf 9 holes. We got paired with a single and had a blast with him too. The only problem is the pace of play was HORRIBLY slow and could definitely be enforced more especially with bigger groups. However at the end of day, i will absolutely be going back, the course itself was beautiful and the people were fantastic. 9/10 read more

This is a great golf course for beginners and seasoned link heads. The course covers tons of long straight forward fairways and even changes elevations, with you literally hitting up a huge hill on hole 14. Hole 9 gives you a full view of the golf course and the hole below. My buddy made it on the green in one shot, 297 yards, and was about 5 feet from the hole! If I wasn't there to witness myself, I wouldn't believe it. I really loved the challenging aspects of this course and the super fun par three holes. It's cheaper to play after 12pm, but you're basically racing the clock in the winter. Remember sun sets at 4:30! I would definitely recommend this spot for people looking for a new golf spot in the IE. read more

Beautiful course but horrible golf play and practices. Tee times were only 8 minutes apart. By the time I got out to the course. At each hole there were 3 groups waiting to tee off on each hole. 20 minutes of waiting on EACH HOLE before we could even hit. I wish i could rank this higher. And I will change it if they change this one day. But stacking up tee times and people like that... just like like they care just about the money. Sad... because little changes like ... putting a ranger out there and properly spreading out tee times could make this a top course. Please change. read more

I was at Dos Lagos Golf Course to participate in a golf tournament for Teen & Adult Challenge Treatment Centers. Besides supporting a good cause, Dos Lagos is a very fun golf course with challenging holes. Their staff is very friendly and professional. The food was excellent...and their restroom is VERY clean. Golf only. I paid $33 with some coupon my friend got. Includes a cart. This was Sept 2020 in Covid times. This course is wonky. Trees are young. It reminded me of being in another state. It's one of those courses where you can have a hard time if you've never played before. Choose conservative lines. There are places you will not want to miss. The first par 5 is ridiculous. I hit one a touch right and went OB, then pulled it a bit and it rolled across the "rough", over the cart path and then 100 yards down into the water on the next hole. WTF??? (The ball literally landed on my fairway and then travelled about 150 yards on the ground into the water on another hole!) On the back 9, there is a par 5 that is 600 yards but extremely uphill. It might be the longest par 5 I've ever played. 579 from Blues. Could play 675? They have a drivable par 4, too. I think it's 9. Super fun ... I mean, yeah, because you asked, I'll tell you. I drove it (288 downhill) ... yeah, I 3-putted from 60 feet. No driving range. Just a cage, but it's free. Not really walkable. If you are not a scratch, do yourself a favor and play from the Whites if you've never played before. I wish we had. The par 3's from the Blues are too long for all but single-digit handi's. One was 230! another 210 approx to back pin. The reality is most golfers don't hit there drivers 230. C'mon now! Others were short but tight. It's one of those course that really good players can shoot really low on, but high-handi's can run out of balls on, which is all the more reason to play from the Whites. It's a fun course, balls run, so you can hit 'em long, but lottsa trouble on some holes (that f'ing clowny par 5 cost me a round in the 70s!) Greens are nice and with some nice movement, good speed (maybe stimping 10?). Fun course. Great deal for under $50. Surprisingly no thingamagigs screens on the carts to tell you the layout. That'd been nice. I had so many shots I'd have hit differently if I'd been familiar with course. I didn't go in clubhouse. You can drive the cart to the parking lot! (it's the little things!) One other thing: One of the fairway bunkers was filled with what seemed to be wet cement! I just pulled my ball out. It was weird. I've never seen anything like it. Decent course for the price ($40). Tee boxes were beat up and the pins were put in odd / impossible locations. Yardage on the scorecard did not match the signs posted at each hole. Bring a rangefinder or GPS as the only markers on the course are at 150 yds. Pace of play was decent. No driving range. No cart girl. The front nine had a lot of blind shots and the only help was the basic pictures located on the scorecard. No details about hazards etc. A lot to be desired / improved upon, but not bad for the price. read more

No driving range but they offer a hitting area against a net. Just to loosen up. Course is short but challenging. Like anywhere else, when the wind blows ... It's game over. They had just aerated the greens so add insult to injury on this outing. Was it worth $28??? Yes, I'll be back. I'm just a hacker looking for excuses and a reason to drink beer with my son. Came here for the 1st time to play. Fun course with a lot of elevation changes. Course is in decent shape. However, upon finishing, a marshal parked under a tree on 18 raced out to yell at us for approaching the cart signs near the green. We didn't pass them, but we moved the carts to the cart path anyway. The marshal then came out yelling and screaming telling us he'd kick us all off the course. We told him to "take it easy" and not to lecture as we hadn't broken a rule and we moved the carts. He continued shouting and attempted to lie about what we'd said (probably in order to justify his ridiculous behavior). This was absolutely unprofessional and completely unnecessary. I've never experienced anything like that, let alone on the 18th green. We respected the course and we paid decent money to play. It ruined my experience and I'll never be back. Everyone in the group will never back. read more

I hate to be that guy, you know , the guy with a negative post. However I hate to see a place with such potential fail at something so easy as good service. We went for a round of golf Sunday 8/9/2020. We were on time and our 2:09 reservation went without a glitch. However the golf carts were not only NOT COVID clean the drink holders still had cigarette butts and bottle caps in them. Not sure why they were not cleaned . I looked over at the golf cart area and saw an employee sitting on his phone. 2. There was no drink cart on the course. Did I mention our tee time was at 2:09pm on A weekend. It was HOT. I was told the girl was on vacation so there was no cart service. 3. Men's bathroom at the clubhouse was a hot mess. I doubt they were cleaned all day. However :Price was right and views were amazing! Probably some of the best golf I had in a while. read more

Our tee time was 1pm we ended at 7pm! We were told a group of 8 was an hour late and they let them on? Many of the greens had lines down the middle. Someone messed up on that. WORST ROUND EVER! I hope you have the self-respect and dignity to spend your money where they respect you and offer dignity. At Dos Lagos, the underlying philosophy of the GM, Stan, and is reinforced by Matt, the Manager, is that everyone who comes on their property is trying to screw them. If you're against nanny states, this is a nanny course. The people who work at this course are not outright dishonest, but I've had enough girlfriends that found omission to be the same as a lie that I'll call them dishonest in that they will omit their actual intentions. I asked for ice, and they said to bring my beverages inside and they would give me ice. Instead of giving me ice, he confiscated my beverages. Matt claimed it was because of their liquor license, but he also said they don't catch everyone, and they still have their liquor license. Matt and Stan treat people, so that they will be dishonest. If they treated people with dignity, people will be more likely to act honestly rather than deceive them. I understand that one needs self-respect to treat others with some respect, so ultimately, I hope Matt finds a job that allows him his own dignity. Matt seemed like a decent enough guy, and it seemed as if he's just in a bad place. If he had asked me to leave beers in the car, I would have. I'm very honest when it comes to these things. Instead of being decent, they chose to start by treating their customers like thieves.. My whole thought, if you're trying to stop other deceivers, you should be better than them, not the same. read more

This course "sniffs in" at about 3.75 stars... The course isn't that green, but we haven't had jack for Fall/Winter rain so that is "perfectly normal, perfectly healthy". The FAIRWAYS are similar to Oak Quarry (not as well kept as Oak mind you) in that they are very short hair so you can really get some advantageous rolls. On hole #2 I hit the driver 307 yards with the help of downhill + the short carpet. On Hole #4 I sunk an uphill 35 foot bender one-putt for Bird dog. The putter continued well on this course. As did my chipping. The LAYOUT here is pretty cool throughout with plenty of challenges. Hole #14 was very long but I was able to get par with a nice putt. The CLUBHOUSE is one of those portable buildings so it isn't sexy but with COVID going on who really cares. It is more about the outdoors especially nowadays. We liked that there were six par 3's which broke up the longer holes. It may not be Hidden Valley or Oak Quarry good but it is a worthwhile play. read more

Played here last weekend. Course was HORRENDOUS!!! Fairway conditions were crappy. Rough was yellow and very spotty. Greens were uneven and it appeared that a vehicle drove all over it (ALL GREENS). It appeared like there is no maintenance crew on this course. I'm not exaggerating. Green fees should be around $40 or less for this sad condition. read more

Apparently Dos Lagos has gone downhill since my brother played last year. I played yesterday and here's my review: Cons: * Triple wide pro shop/snack stand/starter/bathroom all in one. GHETTO. The men's bathroom had one standing stall and one #2 stall. Weak. * No driving range, you drive into a crappy net (but it's free...I guess). * NO TEE BOXES! I think all 18 tee boxes were worse than their fairways: bumpy, mushy, wet, uneven, sloped, you name it. * Fairways were being worked on, so I cut them a little slack here. Still, we weren't able to drive on the fairways, just the rough since they were seeding. * Putting greens sucked. Holes, bumps, dead spots, super slow, cleat tracks. Awful. * There were certain areas in the brush area where there were tons of mosquitoes. I think we drove through the West Nile a few times and I got bitten twice on our outing. * The course layout isn't totally bad, but there weresome holes where there were no landing areas for your drives. I think 3 out of the 4 par 3s were over 200 yards. The one par 3 under 200 yards was like 85 yards long. Whattt?? * Porta-Potties all over the course...come on now. It's been years and you can't build any decent sh.tters??? It was a rough day. Yes the tee time was easily booked on www.golfnow.com and it was cheap $35 with a cart, but it wasn't worth the 4 hours. They didn't care to mention a tournament was also occurring at 8am, shotgun style, till you checked in. Took 2 hours to play 6 holes. Waited 20 mins to tee off a par 4. No ranger, no one to enforce the time. I have played this course 3 other times and it completely varies (Wanted to wait to write a review). Sometimes it slows down at the 12th hole, some at the 3rd. It's a great fun course but the time management kills it for me. Won't be returning again unless they get a better system down. read more

I golfed at Dos Lagos golf course, and the conditions were excellent! The tee boxes and greens were great. The prices are reasonable compared to most other quality golf courses. Although the course was wide open and forgiving for beginners, there were some challenging holes throughout. The service was also exceptional. I spoke to the manager, Stan Gonzalez, about a certain issue, and he went beyond what was expected and did so both cordially and professionally. The clubhouse is a comfortable place to relax and have a beer or cocktail, and patio seating has great views of the course. Thanks Stan. See y'all again soon! read more

I was SOOOOO Surprised!!!!! I will tell you, I went to Hidden valley, Pechenga, and a few other venues. The pricing for what they give was really outrageous. We, off a comment from an associate, went to Dos Lagos. I met with the event coordinator, Valerie Reeves. She was very knowledgeable, and exceedingly concerned with our vision. I was very pleased. The pricing was unbelievable! She took me on a tour of the photo spots for the day, outlined what to expect and I was sold. All the way up to the day, Valerie had our details down pat! The tasting was delightful (we got to include our kids), we were not forced to use their cake vendors, allowing us the choices and freedom to really create the experience we wanted. The day of the event, we had some elderly family members who needed help getting to the location of the service. Dos Lagos provided carts, and drivers. The entire event went off without a hitch! I want to thank Claudia, Michelle, Sadie, Gina and Michael. The reasonable cost to host 100 people with Macadamia nut crusted Halibut, Beef, and a vegetarian option. read more

The course is great. Don't think it's not. Very challenging. Fluffy sand traps. Nicely kept up with tight greens and well groomed fairways. The issue is the course management, or lack there of. They stack everyone on top of each other sending groups out 8 minutes apart. And there isn't a Marshall to be found on the course. We took almost 5 hours to play 9 holes. On the turn we hit up the guy at the pro shop and he gave us a 15% off raincheck for next time...LOL there won't be a next time! Sad to see such a great facility fall to greed and ego. This is my first time giving review. I normally don't care and never gave review on anything but this place is so bad that I just had too do it. It's Sunday November 15, 2020 and our tee time is 11:48am. I came in to check in 12 minutes before our tee time but the guy at the club house said he can't check me in just yet because they are falling behind. My immediate reaction is why not? I had to wait another 10 minutes before he can finally check me in... what's up with that? We finally get to tee off about 15 minutes late and it was just already backed up so I said ok, may be it will get better. Well... it didn't' it just got worse every hole. We finally finished 9 holes and when we got to the 10th hole, the Marshall was there and he just put 3 players tee off in front of us (all sucky players) because he said they are a members. I almost lost it but I tried to be calm and tried to make the Marshall understand how we felt and that I would definitely give a review about this place. His response was you can go ahead because the management will probably don't care because they have enough customers and one complaining customer is not going to matter. I certainly hope that people who reads my review will understand my frustration and reconsider it before making a decision of playing here. Overall course was decent , could of been cause it was out of season but greens lacked maintenance, staff was ok didn't make you feel as they were happy to have you play , they seemed like they didn't want to be there . Carts could of used plexiglass windshield due To cold breeze as you drive through cart path at 7am .. will try again in season and see if it changes ... been to better courses for 60.00 ( zero golf range to prep before tee time ) probably a 35.00 course .. read more
