By 8:30 had my CT scan done and back into my room. After an hour I went to ask when the Dr would be coming in to give results as they were already in my chart and I read them. Another hour goes by. Still no one comes in. I went to the nurses station and a very rude long grey haired lady with glasses immediately told me always count on 4 to 6 hours rather we're busy or not. I also told her that I had Dogs at home and they were already left alone for almost 5 hours.. she proceeded to tell me she had Dogs too and she's gone 14 to 16 hours a day! I'm talking about me lady not you! Her bedside manner is horrible. Maybe she needs to find a new job. I feel sorry for her Dogs if she's gone that long all day with no one to care for them, but I don't treat mine that way. I took the pain med line out of my arm myself, and as I was walking out the door the Dr finally came in to give me my results. Got my referral and left! Thought this was going to be a good experience like last time. NOT!

I was scared cause my sister had stage one breast cancer but they put my mind at ease. Shout out to the radiology department. Would recommend

We visited the ER for my 14mo baby for dehydration and a high fever. Although I did not walk away…read moresatisfied with the service, nor respected as a person/patient/parent, I can still share a few things that I did like about this ER. Good things first - the security guard at the front desk was pleasant, attentive and helpful when we arrived. The waiting room was quiet, and we were called in very quickly. The first nurse who took our information and my daughter's vitals was efficient and kind, as was the second nurse who spoke to us in more depth about our situation was also very kind. They were both compassionate, respectful of my daughter not wanting strangers to touch or get near her if they didn't have to, and they genuinely seemed to want to help. They even got us a popsicle and juice to try and help soothe my daughter and actively work on hydrating and cooling her down. We didn't have to wait as long to be spoken to as we did in other ERs that we've visited. Now the bad parts - the doctor, I won't mention her name, was one of the rudest people I've ever met. She had the most entitled attitude from the minute she walked in, her tone and body language clearly emanated her opinions. I made it clear that we had been to another ER who sent us away without any solutions and that was why we were in her ER instead. But she made no effort to ease our minds or offer better support. In fact she continuously said their ER was not a full service ER and that any labs done would not be handled like a full service ER and at best it would take 72 hours for results. I advocated for what I wanted, which was fluids to hydrate my daughter, and their response was that my daughter wasn't dehydrated enough (AKA she had to get much sicker before it would be flagged as an issue). She was very defensive in her communication, reacting as if my questions were stupid or redundant. Instead of working with me to be proactive and not make our situation worse, they offered options we didn't agree with and that led us to forego any treatment at all from this ER. This was our choice, but I was incredibly disappointed in their ability to treat a pediatric patient, I felt they were very ill-equipped literally and figuratively. We essentially paid a large sum to sit in a room for 2 hours being rudely "spoken down" to. Obviously you go to the ER when you have no other option, not every ER visit will have the circumstances we had nor the doctor we had (if you're lucky) so take this review as you will. But I do warn anyone with a pediatric patient - prepare yourselves for a rough experience.

All the nurses were extremely helpful. The doctor on duty even called a specialist to verify my kidneys were not going to sustain permanent injuries due the high readings we was getting. My 3rd in two years. I was on 3 West. The staff was excellent. I was on a regular diet. The food was good; not fancy, not like I'd make it myself, but good! Foodservice staff were very pleasant. I worked in healthcare foodservice as my career and can appreciate what they do. The food was hot, or cold if appropriate, on time, and accurate. In any event, I'll be back in July for surgery and hope to have another good experience.

My experience with Novant Health in Wilmington left me feeling dismissed, unheard, and deeply…read moreconcerned about the quality of patient-centered care I received. I came in with worsening symptoms that I knew were not normal. Despite clearly communicating how my condition was progressing, I felt as though I was being medically gaslit. Because my lab values, MRIs, and echocardiograms appeared "normal," my very real and escalating symptoms were repeatedly minimized and ultimately labeled as psychosomatic. What made this even more troubling was the apparent bias I experienced due to my mental health history. I was open about having bipolar disorder, yet instead of being treated with thoughtful, comprehensive care, it felt like my concerns were filtered through that diagnosis--used as a reason to discredit rather than to better support me. When I expressed serious concerns about continuing my pregnancy--considering both my physical health and mental well-being, as well as the safety of my child--I was not met with compassion or proactive care. Instead, I was essentially told that I would need to "stick it out" for several more weeks, or wait until my condition, specifically preeclampsia, became severe enough to warrant intervention. Being told, in so many words, that I would only be taken seriously once my health took a dangerous turn is unacceptable. No patient should feel like they have to get sicker to be believed. Healthcare is supposed to be built on trust, listening, and early intervention--not dismissal and delay. I hope this review serves as a wake-up call to examine how patients--especially those with mental health histories--are treated when they advocate for themselves. I deserved to be heard. I deserved better care.
