I went to their Emergency Room last night and had the BEST care! I had been having flu like symptoms, but had become unable to stay awake, and was out of it. They thoroughly evaluated me and it were able to determine and treat me for a UTI. They were all nice, but there was a nurse , I wish I got her name, she said it was her first day there, that was so attentive, kind, and on the ball, I'll never forget it. My sister in law was transferred here from McLeod emergency in Carolina forest for very low hemoglobin numbers. They gave her transfusions and tried to kick her out the next day with no further testing. She could barely walk. They let her stay another day. She was sent home on Monday. On Thursday she collapsed on the floor in a pool of blood. Rushed to grand strand hospital with a bleeding ulcer. Way to go seacoast read more

I was in the ER one Saturday in July and saw Dr. O'Malley. I came to the ER because I thought I caught some kind of parasite. I had blood in my stool and blood in my urine. Aside from doing absolutely nothing Captain obvious suggested I move back North if I thought this area was causing issues and then asked if I needed Xanax. Where do you find these Dr's? I know hospitals don't directly hire Dr's anymore. They tend to use renta doctors these days. Drs are also starting to lend toward these jobs because they're never on call and rarely have to follow up. Good advice or bad, you're in and you're out. I was in and out of the ER in under 30 minutes. He did nothing to help me. I was passing blood from my rectum and in my urine. The best he can come up with is go back North. Seriously!! Maybe he should go back to one of the dozen places he came from. If he can still practice there?? It bothers me when a Dr jumps around so much and does no testing to prove out his theories. Went to pick up my adult daughter at ER who was having a psychotic breakdown and needed an emergency D&C. Found that she was discharged in the parking lot with only half of her clothes and shouting that she was going to commit suicide. They hid behind the Hippa law and at first would not talk to me. Said they could do nothing without patients permission. How do you get permission from someone who is psychotic//Now compare... Took her immediately to Grand Strand where they took her in immediately, Dr consulted with me and immediately admitted her under a 72 hour psychiatric lock down for her protection and evaluation. Three days later they released her having stabilized her back on her medicines and performed the necessary D&C. When it comes to ER service let this episode be a warning to you... read more

Went in today for appt. with Dr. Shindler for my 85 year old mother and young woman came in with NO mask on, went to reception desk and wasn't told to put a mask on in A DOCTOR's office! She sat right in front of reception desk where everyone has to stand to check in. Nope! read more

Daughter goes into the ER at seacoast medical center all I ask for is for them to let me go back because she could not speak she had an abscess on the inside of her mouth that would not let her speak but they would not let me go in.. yes I'm aware of this covid and they have to be careful.. she goes into a pure panic attack because she's scared to death and they still won't let me go back there with her I have been vaccinated and she has been vaccinated I just think that it is so wrong when you have a child no matter what age if she's having a panic attack throwing up and can't breathe and all she asks for was for me to be back there just to hold her hand to get this taken care of that really sucks on their part.... To whom it may concern... Dr Donny "Huynh" pronounced "WIN", the "Head" of Seacoast Oncology and Hematology may be the most inconsiderate and possibly incompetent doctor I've ever encountered in my 69 years. Dr Win from the start of seeing me for possible oncology blood issues was contentious, condescending and lacked any bedside manner or communication. Although I'd suffered from anemic conditions for weeks, had pass out spells and had tested out with dangerous low red blood cell counts and little iron in my blood, Win downplayed my condition and was totally slow in setting up subsequent tests. When my blood count required a transfusion he refused to order it (maybe appeasing his links to the insurance companies?). His solution was "if you feel bad, call 911". He was rude, slow in his decision making and condescending when I asked him to explain random medical acronyms he used with me. To quote him "are you not paying attention to what I'm telling you" I assured him I was but his communication skills were so bad it really didn't matter. Obviously, he has no commitment to spending any quality time with his patients (insurance company pressure again?). He checked his watch twice during our meeting. After he refused to order a transfusion, I wound up in an ambulance the next day going to Seacoast ER where the attending physician didn't blink an eye about giving me a transfusion that Win had denied. When I returned to his office to have him explain what happened, he was actually angry that I was "wasting his staff's time" when I called asking for another appt for an update on my condition. Not only did he refuse me the transfusion service, but he also never ordered blood labs after the procedure to see if red blood counts and iron levels had improved. I would think that would be Medicine 101. . I told him I wanted a call back from him with a recommendation to resolve my issues, not his nurse or office manager. I never heard from him, and the office manager and head nurse called me back instead. He is totally overworked, and the condition of the oncology center will only get worse before he is replaced and/or fired. Win returns no calls, refuses procedures, does not help with insurance referrals (I waited for 10 days for an iron infusion because he had filled out my insurance referral wrong although he claimed he did not. The insurance company insured me it was his fault for not providing data needed for insurance approval). This is all documented. He is totally over his head at his position, has poor English communication skills and compounds this with his pompous attitude. You can look in his eyes and see he knows he is totally unqualified in his position and tries to cover it up with bravado. He runs the full "oncology group" at Seacoast by himself and has little experience with managing a group, has zero patient skills and is just a figure head for the Seacoast group. I have now transferred all records to MUSC in Charleston, who have real doctors who care about their patients. I will say the office staff was excellent trying to cover up his inadequacies and incompetence. In summation, I couldn't imagine a more incompetent organization than Seacoast Oncology and Hematology run by Dr Win. Since this incompetent doctor has treated me, I have been to the emergency room twice, have had fainting spells, bleeding, nausea, pain and am now experiencing additional internal issues. I am now considering legal action based on my experience and I'm in discussions with my attorney. I strongly advise no one engage Dr Win or his department in any procedures. They are beyond unprofessional and incompetent. I will guarantee Win will be in a major malpractice suit soon that may be initiated by me and other patients of his who are fed up with this lack of professional medical care. read more

I'm glad they don't actually call this place a hospital, because what it actually seems to be is a recruitment center for McCloud Regional Medicaid Center. From having almost no one in a spacious Little River waiting room, to having 2 rooms of chairs pushed together crowded with sick people in Florence, one where you first come in the emergency room, and the other surrounded by glass wall partitions looking like a rat maze, that's where someone I know that was sent to see a SANE nurse, the day after, she was raped. Evidently the Florence extention holds the patton for certified SANE nurses and qualifying equiptment, needed for the proceedure. I mean how much would a stirrup bed set them back? Are they that close to going under? And I don't doubt that more rapes occur in Florence, but for a beach town where people all over the United States send their graduating kids for Senior week, and people are flocking to from Northern states, you would kinda think they would deserve proper medical services too. I'm not quite sure why being in an upscale region with plenty of retirees with good insurances seem, who seem penalized by having to drive an extra hour and a half to an obviously more poorly run facility, for what? At first i thought it might be to throw local folk off from using GrandStrand Regional. But now I think there is more of a sinister for it, so that the SANE nurses are better able to hide the fact that they are breaking the law when they falsely say that "the pill" that they give in the rape kit is one that just 'prevents pregnancies', when it is clearly stated in the drug description of the LEVONORGESTREL that they give in the rape kit also terminates a pregnancy by "preventing development of a pregnancy" (see attatched photo) as well. And they should be sued for that, if, allowing their nurses to practice not just unethically but illegally in this way. read more

Just made a visit today to the ER and had chest pressure, slight mid sternum pain. Hard to get a good breath. I was seen immediately and my care was very thorough. All the staff have a great sense of humor, Dr. Carr was caring, professional and fabulous. My nurses Lisa and I AM SO SORRY I can not remember my other nurses name, but not because she was not fabulous. I will definitely go there again and will recommend to all my family and friends. read more

Some of the staff is great but wow, the bad ones are really bad! They need to learn some compassion and remember their Hippocratic oaths! ER staff (Kelly W) and Dr. Carr were very good but others in the building could take a lesson in how to treat sick people. read more

Seacoast has deteriorated since they added the addition. It appears staff has been reduced and overall care is at a low level. The staff is friendly and component but unable to provide quality care because of staffing levels. Their software systems are buggy and need serious attention. I hope they get back on track since this was an excellent provider. However, at this time I would have to recommend Grand Strand Hospital. . read more

I visited the Emergency room in excruciating pain. I was seen and treated immediately. I was given pain meds and proper tests. Dr Carr and the nurses were great and referred me to a general surgeon for further evaluation. read more

If there were a negative group of stars this place would win hands down. To be such a nice facility the MDs in the ED have a lot to be desired. Took my husband by ambulance there bcz he passed out. The entire time we were there the MD rolled his eyes and smirked at us. We weren't there seeking drugs. We were there for a legitimate complaint. We will never be back The old saying is a dissatisfied customer will tell 5x the people vs a Satisfied. If this hadn't been the second time happening to us I probably would have stayed quiet.
