By far, our favorite Korean restaurant on the West Island and quite possibly the entire island of Montreal. The menu is extensive, varied, and unique, offering both traditional and new-wave Korean dishes, many of which you will not find elsewhere. It's tough to single out a single dish, since we've tried so many and have yet to be disappointed. The Doskrock section of the menu is a great place to start. Similar to a Japanese bento box, Doshrock options offer a generous sampling of the menu offerings. Other favorites include Chicken Mayo, Kkanpoong (sweet fried chicken), Snow Onion Chicken, the super-generous Bibimbaps, the assorted Gimbap, the Sundubu soups, and Corn Cheese.
As for service, the owner is hands-on in both the kitchen and dining area, while the serving staff is young and friendly, which adds to the inviting atmosphere. And while the decor is rather plain and simple, with photos of menu options on the walls, you won't really care since it's the food here that is the obvious star. Bottom line: I cannot recommend Doshrock highly enough. It's one of the rare West Island restaurants we crave on a regular basis. read more
