We hosted our son's 5th birthday party here and it was awesome! The kids had fun painting and got to take home their artwork. The staff was great and very helpful. We did the premier package which had them take care of ordering the pizza and cake and included a goody bucket for the kids too. Super convenient and well worth the extra fee. I would recommend having a party here for sure.

My family and live within a loud shout away so it's really convenient. They have amazing product, most homemade or homegrown, in their little store. It's just a real farm. And it's real cool too. But this haunted expedition isn't very scary. My almost 10 year old son was pretty scared though. I don't think they're trying to scare 40 year old dudes....Like I said though, my son wanted to turn around and go home but after one of the "creepy" fallout people (the theme is 1950's era nuclear holocaust yada yada) popped out of the orchard and slinked over to my son, slowly pointed her gnarled finger in his face and whispered to him, "do you want to be my friend?" His answer was a shaky but classic "I don't know." I just started laughing and my son laughed too. So then it became an awesome night walk in an orchard on clear and cold fall night. Which there are worse things than that. Why I gave this expedition a 4 star review is because every other thing I buy from Shenot's and every other event is top notch as I mentioned earlier but when my son and I arrived, the line was long and not moving at all. One of the guys that works there was walking down to the lower buildings, I stopped him and asked if we could upgrade to VIP. The wait was going to be brutal, I could feel it. He said no problem, he brought us up to the front of line and when I went to pay him the extra $20 he said "it was on him." His name is Sean. I hope I don't get him in trouble but it was a super-dope move on his part. And he saved my son and I at least and hour and a half of complete boredom. Sean and Shenot's are equally dope.

The upstairs HO scale display is a thing of beauty and of the history of the rails in Western PA as close to the real trains and buildings existing in the 1950s. Well worth the price of admission and the caretakers/hobbyists are there to provide information or answer questions about the display or about the history of the museum.

Additionally, in my experience they are usually meant to portray hypothetical settings rather than resemble actual places. So, I was quite surprised at both the scope of this particular project as well as the fact that this is a miniaturized cross section of the city of Pittsburgh from 1953 that stretches from downtown toward Ohio Pyle and beyond. Its many historical details are pleasingly accurate as anyone can attest to through research on the internet. For me, I had the privilege of having my Dad and Uncle there (both of whom were living in Pittsburgh in that year and were excited at getting to walk through their childhood city). Walking through the room and experiencing it through their eyes made it perhaps even more enjoyable. I would strongly recommend this to anyone who has an interest in this very specific category of art. It is definitely worth the entrance fee. Also, a huge shout-out to those who worked on creating this masterpiece. Please keep it up!

The Chadwick is the place to have your reception. My experience:…read more My wife and I got married in March 2024 and had our reception at the Chadwick. We spent about half a year organizing it, working with Stacy, Chadwick's Event Planning Manager. From the first meeting, she was extremely easy to work with and very helpful. She laid out all of our options and was honest in her process, allowing us to design the event how we wanted. She was our main support and I can't thank her enough for her excellent work. The Chadwick's dining service was similarly excellent. Our selection process was breezy, and the food tasted just as good when we sampled it as it did at the wedding. The in-house chef was great to work with and was a great help during the tasting process. Our guests gave us rave reviews both at the reception and after -- it was really that good. The Chadwick has a great location. The parking lot is expansive, and the venue is clean and elegant. Our ballroom was a perfect fit for about 130 guests. The table layout was custom-tailored and the (included!) bar service was a hit. The cost is unbeatable for the value, the staff is communicative and smart, the food is truly excellent, and the venue is wonderful. The Chadwick has my highest recommendation. I hope you give them a call to plan your big day.

I was planning my event from out of state and wanted to deal with as few vendors and little nitty-gritty details as possible. My husband and I worked with Stacey for the planning piece- she was awesome and readily accessible through e-mail or phone. I feel like I got everything that I wanted in the package that we designed together and that the pricing was fair. I would say that it would be a bit over-priced on a Saturday though. (paying full price- Friday and Sunday weddings get a decent sized price break). We had what they called the Elegant Sitdown Reception- 4 courses, plated and served. The food was pretty good for my taste and my guests loved it (which is what really mattered to me). The outdoor patio is beautiful! In response to a comment below- they must have updated the bathrooms. They look brand new now. They also did a bunch of work to the entrance hall that was under construction when I first went to tour the facility and completed by the time my wedding rolled around. Our event coordinator was really on her game the day of and I have ZERO complaints about her. tldr: my wedding was great! I was a very easygoing bride though and didn't have any sort of "grand vision" that I needed the details to be perfect on. They executed what I had in mind as well we I would have myself. Definitely recommend for a bride who has a busy schedule and wants to leave the details up to someone else.
