There are some scary things along the short hayride, but then you get off and do the walk through part. 2.) if you are sensitive to strobe lights there are MANY throughout the corn maze part. 3.) buy your tickets online in advance and save yourself from waiting in a the much longer line to purchase them there. It would be worth the wait, regardless, but if you have a fidgety kid purchasing online in advance will be a big help. 4.) bottom floor of the main barn consists of the concession stand, chairs and tables to sit and eat at and the restrooms. Top floor had pumpkins, Indian corn, cornstalks and a few vendors. Nice selection of pumpkins; we bought a 45 lb one! (P.S. they take cash and cards.) This was our first year going to Cheeseman's and we plan to return every single year going forward

I haven't been there for over 10 years and was sad that you no longer walk through the building in the woods, but the maze was great. highly recommend purchasing the skip the line passes on line, they were only $35 bucks and literally just scanned a QR code and got in line for the next wagon, lovely! No cell service so if you want to buy anything from a vendor I suggest bringing cash ( no atms ) but the facility itself is set up for these things. The petting zoo, horse rides, and concession stand were also great. The haunted house and maze are much more elaborate than we expected, and we were very impressed. Even in daylight there was a wide variety of decorations and effects in the haunted house, and the atmosphere was great. The maze also had decorations, including some which were quite grandiose. Both the house and the maze also had tunnels. Not just ordinary tunnels, either. You'll have to visit to see what I mean! There were some additional surprises, too. I won't elaborate -- go check them out! Although we visited in the daytime, we could also imagine some of the additional awesomeness nightfall would bring. The staff was all friendly and seemed to care about giving every visitor a great experience. I would definitely like to go back for the actual haunted version of this attraction. We will also likely visit again next year on a No Scare Sunday. Our visit was memorable, and the low prices made it a great value, too. We stayed almost the entire four hours it was open, and I think many families would do the same.

The Depreciation Lands Museum is a nonprofit village that teaches visitors about local life in the…read more1700s to 1800s. Many people do not understand what "Depreciation Lands" means. American soldiers who had fought in the Revolutionary War had been paid with paper money called Continental Currency that had depreciated so much that is was almost worthless. As a result, in 1783, the Pennsylvanian government purchased the Depreciation Lands--720,000 acres in the counties of Allegheny, Butler, Beaver, Lawrence, and Armstrong--from Indians in order to compensate the soldiers. Currently, the Depreciation Lands Museum is open on Sundays from 1-4 PM from May through October. Some special events, such as ghost-hunting and the Hydref Fall Festival, are held at other times. The suggested donation is $5 per adult and $3 per child, and these donations can be paid with cash or check in person or with PayPal or credit card on the website. My husband and I parked our vehicle in a parking lot that was near a bank across the street. We spent one hour at the museum, although other people might want to visit for a longer time. We felt interested in seeing the church, cemetery, tavern, barn, workshop, log house, blacksmith shop, Indian wigwam, herb garden, bake oven, smokehouse, and schoolhouse. All staff members were volunteers. The staff members wore costumes, and they reenacted work such as processing flax into linen thread, weaving the linen thread into cloth, cooking pumpkin soup in a hearth, making nails out of iron, etcetera. The volunteers spoke nicely to us, and they communicated educational information.

I saw ceramic Christmas tree painting events advertised on Facebook and decided to give it a go…read more The prices were a bit high for what I was expecting, but I splurged since making my own ceramic tree has been something I've wanted to do for a long time. Price points started at $65 for a small tree and up to $150 for a large one. My mom and I each got medium sized trees, which I think are about 12 inches tall. Painting other stuff there might be cheaper, but I'm not sure. The staff people on the day of the event were super nice and helpful. The directions were pretty straight forward: Paint three layers of your desired color on the tree and base and then it would take 2 to 3 weeks to fire and finish off. There were lots of paint colors with three or four kinds of finishes to choose from. They give you some recommendations and guidance if you ask. I ended up going with a blue ombre one. When they texted me the day it was ready to pick up, I drove back out that day to get it because I was so excited. It turned out beautiful! The light kit that came with it wasn't great. The lights were too small for the holes, so I bought replacement ones online and it's perfect. I would definitely recommend this place and do it again, but probably for special occasions since it can get pricey.

The entire theater was transformed into an enchanted forest with various animals that need help. My 2-year-old and I got to awaken an ancient tree, participate in a forest sing along, feed bugs to an Australian alpaca, dance with a donkey, and get photobombed by an ostrich. Shows like "The Forest of Everywhere" and production companies like Bricolage are going to help generations of kids fall in love with theater!
