Signed contract stating I was getting refunded my earnest money and they were like nope sellers won't release it and we can't help you. 2. Inspection items had to be fixed, they wanted me to move forward with no proof that things were fixed, were rude to my bank about it, and then sent the inspector out there for the second time and things weren't actually fixed...and I got billed for it! 3. Didn't get the keys to my house for days after closing!

We were on 5 year…read moreplan and they were wonderful to us young City Folks from Chicago.Fast Forward..... 20 years Later, our son is a Saluki and now he is renting form Rolf & Pam! Again they were ready to assist us right away and we moved in without a hitch! We got to see them in town at dinner they were eating with previous tenants of theirs too! It was ironic and Pam was so nice to stop by our table to say "We'll take care of him" I will not forget that! I was all choked up but know that the Schilling property was the way to go in Carbondale.

This review applies to the rental side of this business only…read more.. I've had, all in all, a very good experience renting from them. My place (a 3br duplex) came to me in fair condition, and needed repairs are completed in a timely manner. Especially once you've built up a little trust with the landlord, I've not had any issues turning in rent a few days late (due to being out of town, temporary idiocy in terms of dates, etc.). My favorite part is that after signing a 1 year lease, it I'm now month-to-month, and need to give only 1 full month of notice before leaving. A few minor annoying issues keep this from being 5 stars (e.g., yardwork being done at weird times and without notice, maintenance people keying into my place early and without warning). All in all, this is the happiest rental experience I've had.
