We all have a few pieces of extra tack hanging around that we know we're never going to use again. It feels too wasteful to just toss it, especially when we spent so much on it, and let's be honest, we're all a bit tired of looking at it, right? But we also know it could really help someone else out. Plus, it's just taking up space! Now, those items can truly make a difference for the amazing people who dedicate their time to going to auctions and rescuing these beautiful horses, giving them a second chance at life. It's shocking to realize how many horses are purchased at auctions, only to be shipped off in such cruel conditions to slaughterhouses in Mexico or Canada. The heartbreaking truth is that around 90% of these horses are perfectly rideable and in good health, not old or sick like many people assume. And with prices skyrocketing to $5 per pound, this issue is more pressing than ever! It smells clean, it looks clean, and it's easy to find everything. There is no other tack store in this area that has as much variety and sizes as them. They have the best selection of helmets and tall boots in all different sizes and price ranges for any budget. I've confidently sent at least 10 people over here to get their tall boots, and they have always came back with the perfect pair. I was more than happy to take that help. Lees' is HUGH! And I mean that in a very good way. Off the bat I noticed how clean and really organized all the inventory is. And so well lit as you can see from my photos. All I needed was bird seed. I buy it in big bags because my birds are like turkeys. They gobble it up. Neighbors had told me about Lees' and said they carried quality animal products and the prices were reasonable. After perusing lottsa bird feed choices... I chose one I wanted to try. A mixture of sunflower chips and nyjer. I have not seen it sold anywhere else... btw. Finches LOVE this stuff. Early Christmas for my birdies!:). I so wanted to take some time and wander around this incredible store. It was like Disneyland for animals. But I had another commitment. Darn! I understand this is a long-time family owned business. Father now to son owner. And one customer told me as I was in line to pay that everyone in El Dorado County comes to Lees' for their animal/pet needs! They sell Western Wear! Yee-ha!
