The staff are wonderful, their mission is commendable and the food is delicious! Osprey truly cares about outdoor education and cherishing natural resources. It's reflected in having electric car charges in their parking lot, solar panels on the property, composting, gardening onsite, and using super fresh and tasty ingredients in their cooking. We felt so well taken care of each time our group was there. There's plenty of space for lodging, classrooms for learning and of course, the grounds for exploring. If you have the opportunity to come to Osprey for an event, do consider visiting. It's worth the short drive from the cities and a lovely getaway to be in nature.

We ended our night playing yard games outside and making s'mores around a fire. It was a great time! Larson's Barn has a beautiful dance floor that we used for our first dance. Kathy is very easy to work with, even when we got there late to set-up the day before. There was a frost warning the day before the wedding and Kathy was sure to cover all of the flower beds. The next day although jack frost had come through all of the plants and flowers looked great. Since our entire group was from out of the area we also rented the small cabin and the under the barn apartment for the weekend. It was great for all of the bridesmaids and groomsman to be onsite, less stressful for everyone. We even had a hairstylist come out to the barn to do the girls hair. Everything was very convenient for being in the country of MN.

The next morning, I was there on time and was greeted by the young woman who recognized my name. "We talked last night. You are our guest today. No charge." Stephanie said. I was dumbfounded and realized that she saw within me something I didn't realize I had revealed--that I needed to be pampered, that I was vulnerable, that I was tired, that I was worried, that I hurt. I had never alluded to any of that over the phone, but she knew. The staff regularly checked on me, the owner especially making certain I was fine, and I was. The brunch was amazing, filled with luscious entrees, a far cry from the normal Northwoods pizza-hamburger venues. I was also able to enjoy watching the young parents with their children, lining up for their eggs and shrimp and everything delightful. I am home now and soon I will be watching a movie--probably a western--that my husband would have liked. I will remember him telling me all about the lives of the actors, how this movie compared to another, how the plots developed. I will remember my folks and wish they were again enjoying the rustic comforts of the cabin. I will remember my caring son and daughter who will call later to see what mischief I have been into. And I will remember the "strangers" who crossed my path today to help point me forward into a journey of hope.

PREMIERE WEDDING VENUE…read more This new, easy to find, and picturesque farm venue will not disappoint you. The whole property is squeeky clean with an impeccably manicured lawn. You turn jn on a windy private road that takes you right over a substantial creek that could not be more enchanting. It is perfection in nature, and even the quaint bridge looks like it grew there. The hosta and floral gardens that line the driveway are delightful and finish setting the tone for the event. Ample parkjng is available , very close to the barn/reception. Not only is this barn new, it is AIR CONDITIONED! !! BOOM !! The architect and designer really nailed it on this facility. There is a comfy Bride's Room (with private restroom), a Grooms Area, a large walk up bar, large restrooms, a tall ceiling, and a small kitchen for the caterers. For me, the the most incredible feature was the giant sized barn doors located behind the head table. When they were majestically flung open, the sun and outside came in. It was almost spiritual, like when the Priest opens the Holy Doors. There were a couple lawn games for guests to enjoy, several tables under a shaded porch, a patio with a huge firepit, and lots of room for frolicking outside. Wine barrels were everywhere so there was always someplace to set your beverage. The ceremony site I saw was hidden and absolutely stunning. Perfectly etched out of the prevailing landscape. They had folding chairs, a metal arch that the florist decorated, and it was all shaded. I understand that there are a few different ceremony sites to choose from. Absolutely stunning.
