Over the past year, after upgrading several pieces of equipment, the experience has gone downhill fast. Staff have been inconsistent and often uninformed about warranties, have failed to honor or properly handle warranty claims, and turnaround times have been unacceptable. Equipment has come back late, not fixed correctly, or in worse condition than when it was dropped off. "Well, you can bring it back," is not acceptable when you rely on your equipment to make a living. I've only purchased Shindaiwa and Echo products through them, so maybe the manufacturers share some responsibility, but customer service and accountability still matter. I'm honestly shocked at how little regard has been shown to loyal, long-term customers. At this point, I can't recommend Tools for a Time to other professionals who depend on reliable equipment and timely service.

I was on vacation and needed a battery charger and fresh battery for my digital camera. The…read moreclosest option was Batteries Plus. The people there seemed perplexed by my request. I did bring my camera with me. They sold me the correct battery and a "universal" charger (only one they had). I made sure it fit in my camera. I asked them to try to charge it before I left because I got the impression that it had been on the shelf for some time. They couldn't get it to charge, and said their port wasn't really reliable, but assured me that I could return it to my local store (in Jacksonville) if it didn't work when I got back to the hotel. When I got to the hotel and plugged it in, I saw no indication that it was charging. When I tried again the prongs that slide to accommodate the battery broke. I had been very gentle, as it looked flimsy right out of the package. I tried rubber banding the battery into the charger and still no charge. I'm out $99. When I got home and tried to return it I found that most locations were closed in my area. I found the closest one on Beach Blvd and they took the charger back but wouldn't take the battery and only offered store credit. It makes no sense to drive back to the store where I got it while on vacation as it's 5 hrs away. Not impressed to say the least!
