I'm extremely disappointed with Tools for a Time, which is not something I ever thought I'd say. They've been a solid resource for my lawn care business for years, and I've consistently given them my business. Over the past year, after upgrading several pieces of equipment, the experience has gone downhill fast. Staff have been inconsistent and often uninformed about warranties, have failed to honor or properly handle warranty claims, and turnaround times have been unacceptable. Equipment has come back late, not fixed correctly, or in worse condition than when it was dropped off. "Well, you can bring it back," is not acceptable when you rely on your equipment to make a living. I've only purchased Shindaiwa and Echo products through them, so maybe the manufacturers share some responsibility, but customer service and accountability still matter. I'm honestly shocked at how little regard has been shown to loyal, long-term customers. At this point, I can't recommend Tools for a Time to other professionals who depend on reliable equipment and timely service. read more

I was told to be the co-signer for someone that has a 500 credit score when I have an 800. Then after we were approved for 11,000. I was told I have no access to this account and the other person would be totally responsible. Now I'm dealing with a pulled credit for nothing because I cancelled as soon as I heard this. I will never do business with this place for their incompetence of recommending the dumbest financing setup I've ever seen in any business. As a home owner with a fairly small yard I had never seen the need to invest in quality equipment until I found Tools For A Time. Instead of buying cheap equipment every season from the big box stores I'm saving money in the long run and a lot of headaches by buying the best. Whether it's my Honda generator, Echo Backpack Blower, or Chainsaw, they start the first pull every time I need them. Even though I haven't needed them it is also nice to know that a quality, trustworthy service team is standing by ready to help. Brought 2 power heads to have trigger switch replaced on them both and get new spark plugs and air filters for both. was quoted an approx price and was told it would be about a week because of shop back up. Drop off on Monday afternoon and Wednesday morning was called to say that one of the head was going to cost $285 to repair. I was like what for a spark plug and air filter then he started that it needed a new rod gear mechanism since they were replacing the rod etc. When I went to pick up the equipment the 1 head cost more than what I was quoted for both and the manager said the person that gave me the approx cost couldn't quote an approx cost. When you drop something off for repair you should be able to get an estimate of what the repair should be. They charged me more than what was quoted for the 2 heads and did not touch the 2nd head. A total rip. Beware! Not the same place as years before. Will never spend a dime here again. read more

On Monday 8 November 2021, I returned to Tools For A Time with my generator to have it checked out to see why it would not start. Prior to my going there I was contacted earlier in the day by Roy Mason the Store Manager. He had read my earlier reviews regarding my September visit to the business that included what I consider very poor customer service from employee Brendan Flowe; the Assistant Manager. Mr. Mason asked me several questions regarding my generator problem and then requested that I ask for him upon my arrival to the business. I arrived at the business and after speaking with Mr. Mason I knew that my generator problem would be resolved in a professional and non- hostile manner. Later that afternoon I picked up my generator and was told by Mr. Mason what the problem had been in regards to it not starting. He explained to me what had been done to repair it and also what the policy was regarding warranty work. Even though I still didn't have the warranty information in writing at least Mr. Mason went the extra mile to explain it to me which is something I couldn't get Brendan Flowe, the Assistant Manager to do during my September encounter with him. Mr. Mason's assistance and professionalism along with his outstanding customer service skills were all appreciated..... Thank you again for a great Tools For A Time experience. read more

This shop has premium, top level landscaping equipment that the average Joe can purchase. Blowers, edger's and macked out mowers all can be purchased at this location. Everything here was way out of MY price range, but for a budding landscaping entrepreneur...this place would be a great place to go to get completely set up. They actually have small business equipment packages set up for just that purpose. As an entrepreneur myself, I think prepackaging business equipment for the beginning business person is a great idea. Tools for a Time also puts on a mean party! We went to this location where they had blocked off a large part of the parking area for live music, free hot dogs and drinks. They had a raffle where they actually gave away a whole business package worth of lawn equipment (easily $7,000 worth of equip). They had other relate vendors there and Jacksonville Sheriff's Office had the racing police car and SWAT vehicles there for everyone to hop in and peruse! We had signed up for their mailing list on their website and received an invite to this neat little venue. Most importantly the sales staff here is very, very knowledgeable and really friendly which I always appreciate. Tools for a Time also does rentals if you have the need for some really high end equipment for that weekend project. read more

I stopped by today, while preparing for hurricane Dorian, to see if they sold generator parts. The response was, "We are not selling generator parts TODAY. We are just selling complete generators." I then went to Northern Tool and they said they would check to see if they had the parts I needed and would GIVE them to me if they had them. read more

This place has great customer service. They have to have hundreds of regular customers and they still greet you by name! The sales and service staff is very knowledgeable when it comes to the equipment that they carry. I had my hedge trimmer serviced at a different place two different times and they couldn't figure out what was wrong. Five minutes at TFAT and they showed me exactly what was wrong with it. A few days later the new part was ordered/installed and the hedge trimmer was back to work. That was a couple years ago and haven't had a problem since. I have literally spent thousands of dollars at this place and continue to do so because of their service, although it is the farthest shop from my house. They also have the longest Saturday hours for those that can't get to them during the weekdays. read more

When I first met the Owner and his wife 20 years ago they were young and eager. I bought my first Xmarts from them one I still operate today. But now, whoever they but their business into his hands they made a mistake. The service is awful, over 2 weeks behind. I have a business to run, 2 weeks in the worst part of the Season.
