I also scored beautiful cream wool placemats with the word Noel embroidered in silver metallic thread and surrounded by beads! The staff is so friendly, helpful, and happy! We came here once before to see if we could find six cocktail glasses and were rewarded with a big selection of sizes, styles, and price range! This in comparison to a couple of other thrift stores I shopped that had a smaller selection and less well organized... at Treasures each jacket was marked with the size, a huge time saver. On impulse I also bought a spice rack organizer which leads to a cautionary tale about shopping at thrift shops. After a good amount of time trying to assemble it I realized that pieces were missing. Hopefully this was an inadvertent error on the part of the donor in gifting what was essentially a worthless item. Can't blame Treasures because they can't be expected to open and examine every $10 item. Still 5 stars in my book. Also: they have a Dutch auction system where certain things get markdowns on predetermined dates. So if you want to take your chances, you may get that desired item even cheaper.... or, it may be sold out from under you. But that's Saratoga for you.

It is not just seasonal either, there are gifts and decorative items for all times of year. They even carry clothing. The prices are not cheap, but the store has an upscale aura and I personally do not mind paying more for items that feel unique and well chosen. It does not feel like a big box store, it feels more like a specialty shop where you find things you would not see everywhere else. I have heard people say the staff walk around and watch customers closely. Honestly, I can understand why. The layout has to be a security challenge, there are multiple rooms, different levels, and even an upstairs. I would imagine shoplifting could be an issue in a store set up like this. For me, the staff have always been friendly and helpful. I actually wonder how they keep track of where everything is in a place that big, that alone is impressive. Around Christmas time it gets very busy, which says a lot about how popular it is. I usually make it in about once a year during the holidays, but you could shop here anytime for unique gifts. The only thing that feels a little off putting to me is the number of signs about broken ornaments and being charged 50 percent if something is damaged. I do understand why they have them, a lot of people do not watch their kids closely and accidents happen, and adults break things too. Still, seeing the signs all over the place does change the feel a bit. That said, it definitely does not stop me from coming in. Overall, I really enjoy this store and always find something interesting when I visit.

However, there are a couple of factors to take into consideration. While it's true that you can find cheaper clothing elsewhere, how good is the material? How much time passes before it breaks, tears, becomes threadbare, or color drained? You can feel the quality of the clothes here, you can see it in the stitching. My friend also happened to find a gorgeous coat, and since the item was 75% off, I probably got my item cheaper than what it would have cost at a regular store. Service was exceptional. While we had the items we wanted to try on in our arms, an assistant quickly came over and got rooms ready for us. We didn't feel rushed or hurried.
