Wow! We found a hidden gem traveling home from Phoenix to Texas! We ordered cheeseburgers cooked medium, one with the sweet potato fries and one with steak fries.....they were cooked to perfection, seasoned perfect and had fresh lettuce, tomatoes and red onion on the side to add as you please and a pickle spear......wonderful! This will be a regular stop for us when we make this trip!!! read more

On our way to Texas we stopped in for dinner. Oh my goodness, this place is adorable! Small, warm and inviting. Great service and fantastic meats...we had prime rib, filet and ribeye all were cooked perfectly and very tasty. Really special find. read more

What a great gem to find along the way. We stopped for lunch today and were welcomed by friendly staff. Caiden was our server and he was fantastic with a large group of kids. Don't let the outside deceive you. Cute, clean and hip interior. Nice salad bar offered as a side salad for meal. We had a southwest chicken sandwich. Chicken was seasoned perfectly and cooked just right. Not dry at all. We also had chicken fried steak which my husband loved. Definitely more than enough and we left full. The kids had wings, grilled cheese and cheeseburgers. All were a hit and the kids were happy too. Don't pass this place by. We had lunch today at the Double S Steakhouse. The restaurant is very clean and nicely decorated. They have a good looking salad bar. But I went in there for one thing I had seen on line, the turkey, bacon, cranberry sauce grilled sandwich on Texas toast. I may not have said the name right, but everything about the sandwich was right. Even the dill pickle was good. Saw a few more items I want to try. Looking forward to going back. Need diet Dr Pepper on tap lol. read more

Steaks were terrible. Ribeye resembles carne Asada meat. Ordered medium rare, came extremely well done. Ticket time over 30 minutes. So noisy can't enjoy dining. A really bad steak house! read more

This by far the best steak we have ever had. The feel of the Restaurant is down to earth the food is out of this world amazing. I had the ribeye steak the steak was so tender cooked to perfection. The sides were just as perfect creamy just right mac n cheese, the Brussels sprouts were the best I've ever tasted, green beans taste like your Momma cooked them, and the fried okra was battered lightly it was all just so good. We were in Wilcox for pumpkin picking and we read the reviews for Double S Steakhouse and decided to give it a try. The outside is very deceiving, it's small and right next door to a gas station so we weren't expecting much when we walked inside. We were pleasantly surprised by the homey western decor. The restaurant was somewhat busy but we found an empty table and were greeted immediately by a friendly server. We got our drinks and order taken quickly, but the wait for our meals was a bit long (to be fair though we have two little kids so any amount of time seems really long when they're impatient). I ordered the 6 oz sirloin with the asparagus bacon wrapped bundle and an extra side of macaroni and cheese and my husband ordered the nacho fries appetizer as his meal. Our children shared our meals. My meal came with the salad bar, it was pretty small but it had everything I needed to make my salad. The plates for the salad were tiny and awkward though, my dressing was dribbling off the sides. When our food finally came I noticed right away my sirloin was in two pieces. So instead of one 6 oz piece I had two small, I'm assuming, 3 oz filets. The meat was tender but wasn't hot when I got it and didn't have a whole lot of flavor. My daughter loved the macaroni and cheese and my husband said his nachos were very good and it was a really big portion. We paid $40 for one meal, one extra side and one appetizer. It was a little pricier, but we knew that going in since we looked at the menu online beforehand. Our meal was good, but I wouldn't say it was a must try. read more

whew, the double s steakhouse is like an old shoe its time to get a new pair, ate there on a Thursday evening........waited for 45 minutes to get served a family came in after us and waited and waited they finally left, i ordered the ribeye and i don't even think it was a ribeye the onions and mushrooms looked like they had been cooked in the same skillet they had when they opened.....very bland, both me and my friend were nauseous the next day. its time for Mr. tapper to come in and do his thing. the owners are Cleary just tired....they don't care about the place anymore. the used to be white brick walls are old and dirty. this place is in dire need of a makeover. wont be eating there anytime soon. read more

I wanted to love this place. Our waitress was very friendly and did a great job. Unfortunately that was the only bright side of our experience. The food was simply not good. I got the New York strip. It tasted like is was boiled...flavorless and like water. Covered in mushrooms from a can, also with no flavor. They didnt have any baked potatoes so I had to get mashed potatoes and gravy which were edible after i added tons of salt and pepper. And one hard roll that was brought to me after I asked for one and I wasnt given any butter. My husband ordered the brisket french dip and he didnt even eat it because it was so flavorless and the bread they used just fell apart. The atmosphere was very uncomfortable. The guests and some of the employees didnt seem used to seeing Black people and we were stared at the entire time we were there. The decor was rustic southwestern, which I loved, and it was clean. This new restaurant is a pleasant surprise. We come to Willcox every year for the wine festival. Always looking for some thing new. Menu was extensive. We had the ribs and the filet. Food was well prepared with generous portions. Service was outstanding. We really enjoyed sitting in the enclosed patio. We will definitely be back. read more

Locals had nothing bad to say about the place and some of the reviews I read were good so I thought I would give the place a try. It was mediocre at best. Pork chop was over cooked and there was items that were supposed to come with the meal that didn't. When asked about them I was told they were out of them. No substitution offered. The salad bar is over priced for what it is just a bigger side salad. read more

After a wonderful day of hiking we were pleasantly surprised to find Double S Steakhouse OPEN on Sunday evening. Apparently many of the local eateries are closed on Sundays so we had to change our original dining option and we're so happy we did. We had a short wait when we arrived but fortunately were able to grab 2 seats in the VERY SMALL bar. We were seated as promised and found the service to be very good and we were all very happy with our flavorful burgers; all 4 of us agreed the burgers were cooked as ordered and were very tasty. 2 of our party got a salad from the salad bar which was good but somewhat limited in choices. They had SPINACH and passed on the iceberg lettuce! We were too full for dessert but maybe next time! read more

Great little steakhouse! Stopped here after picking produce and was very impressed! My little son had a burger, I had the ribeye and my husband tried the bacon wrapped stuffed chicken. I love a good steak and wasn't disappointed at all but I was wowed by my husband's stuffed chicken. My son's burger tasted like it was ground in-house! The salad bar was super fresh! In town on a holiday weekend and looking for something other than fast food. We found it. Casual atmosphere but a little more upscale. It's a family affair. Was greeted promptly by one of the sons and seated. Took a little bit to decide. I had stuffed grilled cheese with avocado and bacon and a generous portion of sweet potato fries. I wanted to give this place a try. So, I went and ordered the only thing I order at steakhouses that I've never been , a cheeseburger. I always live by a restaurant philosophy that at steakhouses if I order a burger chances are the burger will be good due to its simplicity to make, good quality ground beef, salt, pepper, fresh buns, condiments, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, and pickles. And judging how good their burger is, i would go again and try a steak. ( I mean how hard is it to mess up a Burger?) Staff was super friendly, kind and My food came out relatively fast. Presentation was great, but As I bite in my burger I was actually surprised to find out that the burger was absolutely TASTELESS. Patty was flavorless, buns had a weird tangy aftertaste, all the vegetables in the burger were near spoiled. The only thing that I can honestly say I tasted was the ketchup and mustard. I hate to give this place a bad rating, because they did have a great staff and atmosphere. But I just can't because the real reason people go to a restaurant is to eat and I do not recommend anyone eating here, I would rather go to Big Tex BBQ right down the road. read more

Dont get to excited I think they are still trying to work out the bugs. We arrived as a party of 8, at about 6:30 to 7pm and even though their menu says they have prime rib on Fridays (the day we were there) we were informed as soon as we sat down that they were sold out, already! They said the table inside ordered it all. There was 1 large table of maybe 10 inside but while we were there for more than 1 hour a lot more people arrived, so not enough prime rib go go around, which I would have ordered. They brought water and tea as ordered and we ordered a few appetizers for the table which seem to take a while to get but not during the 20 to 25 minutes before the food got there did anyone put napkins or silverware on the table. When the apps arrived I asked for silverware. The apps that we were sharing were eaten by our hands, no silverware. I asked another wait person for silverware, maybe 10 more minutes later the waiter "drops" off a pile of paper napkins and a pile of silverware. You can tell he completely didn't care what he'd was doing because he only "dropped" 4 forks and 6 knives, for 8 PEOPLE. Entrees came out, had to ask for more silverware. He comes back about 5 minutes later and "drops" more at one end of the table. NO, either set the table before people arrive or when you bring it, set the table, don't make US the customer do your job of passing out the silverware! Maybe this is how it works at your momma's house, but it shouldn't be like that in a restaurant. I think we also got someone else's apps too, but jeez, if you're gonna have a restaurant, train the staff on what to do how to do it! The food that we got was ok. read more
