This restaurant is part of the KOA campground just off I-10 but anyone can eat here. And trust me, you won't regret it! The food was scratch cooked, fresh and delicious. We found the food to be really really good, and therefore, it squeaks a 5-star. Service was great. Coffee... good enough. Chile stuffed omelet-- very good with Hatch peppers. It's a cafe, not a broad menu, also not on 52nd St in Manhattan. Instead, lovely local flavors, and pretty good values. Very clean, not a lot of variety but enough to please us very well. It's NW of the freeway intersection. Lots of crews go here; they can handle a large table. They'll make meatless dishes if you ask; it's all made to order, nothing baked in a city far away from you, frozen, then chipped to a local microwave. Hubby and I ate there recently and had a nice lunch. I had chicken and pasta and my husband had a burger combo. Both were delicious and the only complaint I have is that the service was pretty slow. However, we will return at some point again. read more

Who would have thought the KOA has the best breakfast restaurant. There's not a lot of choice in Wilcox for breakfast so we thought we'd try and reviews were good. Our server was the chefs daughter and she was as sweet as can be. I ordered the Roadrunner breakfast with my eggs over medium, most restaurants can't seem to get over medium eggs right but the chef nailed it perfectly!! My husband ordered the western omelet and it was delicious. The blueberry pancakes with prickly pear syrup were divine and huge! The other thing that needs to be good is the coffee and it was. I also recommend the home fries, they were crunchy on the outside and creamy soft inside, addictive!! Great food and great service!! read more

We came here on Sunday for lunch and it was pretty busy but were still able to get a table inside. I got the gyro which was delicious but it and the fries were cold. I also had a half house salad which was pretty big. I wish they offered a side salad size. The ranch wasn't very good. My boyfriend had the buffalo chicken salad and they accidentally brought out a buffalo chicken wrap. They took the wrap back and he reminded them he wanted the dressing on the side of the salad. They made the salad and did not put the dressing on the side. He was starving when it came out so ate it anyway but it had way too much ranch dressing on it so he didn't enjoy it. We tried 2 honey stix flavors (mountain clover and orange blossom) and didn't like either. read more

Having never traveled along I-10 from Texas to Tucson, I looked for reviews of restaurants along the way. Roadrunner Kafe had some good reviews, so we decided to try it. I had my head buried in the map as navigator while my husband drove. My husband said, "You're running out of real estate here!" I told him to keep going, we're almost there. He said this is a KOA campground right about the time I saw a small sign indicating Roadrunner Kafe! Based on the reviews, we went in. All I can say is ITS WORTH FINDING! The burgers were large and very tasty. Fries were crispy and hot outside, creamy inside. Good salad ingredients and excellent service make me wish they were closer to my home. I never would have expected such a sweet, clean little diner at a "campground" but I am SO glad we found it. It is definitely worth your time. read more

This place is becoming a regular stop after our backpacking group hikes in the area. This time we just finished up 3 days at Aravaipa. The menu is small with a few Greek items, but includes salads, burgers, all the essentials. Prices seemed a little high, but the quality is there. Service was friendly and helpful - even after we asked for separate checks for 9 people, and one of our party spilled their soda all over! We sat outside which was just perfect in these quarantine times - they were able to accomodate our big group at one table with room to spare around us. I had the Southwest burger. The bun is the Bomb! There aren't many places that have high quality buns like that. The patty was big, and perfectly cooked. All the extras were served on the side which is how I like it. Their fries are to die for. They are lightly battered and fried to a crusty crunch. I rarely eat many fries, but I scarfed down the whole dang plateful. We didn't have time for ice cream, but it looked pretty delectable. Looking forward to my next trip to the area so I can stop in again! read more

ILOVE FOOD - (KOA parking lot, just keep driving it's on the right, look for it) Ok - deep fried french toast maple pecan cream cheese - must try, not overly sweat just the right ratio of pecan & cream cheese. Omelets- order the "Country.." it was enough for 2, so big I forgot the name. Country potatoes are bit size tot type even better. Pecan cinnamon roll - just like a pie on a roll - must try! Passing through and decided to try this awesome place. Turns out we made an awesome choice! We ordered a chicken fried steak which comes with mash potatoes and was smothered in gravy. We also ordered two hamburgers. My boys split the cheeseburger and my husband and I split the hamburger with egg and the chicken fried steak. The steak and the flavor was delicious. However a couple bites of the steak were a little chewy. I can only assume that it was the ends which usually have the little fat pieces. It's not really a big deal but just thought I'd point it out. The hamburgers were perfect! I love how they put all the toppings on the side. It kept the burgers from getting soggy. The fries were crispy perfect. read more

The location is very clean and comfortable. The cinnamon roll was amazing. The food just ok. We ordered the chicken fried steak (frozen and from a vendor) it resembled a store bought chicken patty. This spot is part of a RV park so I was skeptical at first but to my surprise it was clean and a typical eggs and bacon type of place. The place is run by teenagers but we had nice and quick service. Stopped at the Loves for my Ten, and was looking for something besides fast food and found the Roadrunner Kafe on Yelp! Food was excellent, had the 12oz hamburger steak with gravy and mushrooms, mashed potatoes and jalapeño corn. As I said food was excellent and service was outstanding. KAFE sits in the KOA campground probably to cater to RVers passing through town. Because of a few reviews, we decided to stop and try. Buyer beware gravy is instant premade., Biscuits are packaged and grilled. Prices are grossly inflated for what you're purchasing. I had a simple egg sausage and biscuit breakfast and husband had French toast. Bill was $32 not including tip including one coffee. Chicken fried steak is 18.00 . in the future we will pass. On a positive note, the righteous was sweet and accommodating, and the facility was easy to access and clean. The restaurant needs some help. read more

We hadn't expected much of a food scene in Wilcox, but the Kafe proved us wrong. The breakfast menu is typical and limited but really delicious food, very good quality and reasonably priced. Interior and patio dining is very inviting, clean and you feel a nice fresh morning vibe. The service was super fast, the staff was very attentive, cheerful and very friendly. The indoor seating is perfect, they have Blue Bell ice cream as well! Bathrooms as super well maintained and it's honestly a great stop for food. OMG. One of the worst experiences. They only had one waiter, a teenaged kid, working and the place was full. I told the man who greeted us (I think it was actually a cook from the kitchen) that we would sit on the patio. He neglected to tell the ONE kid who was there that we were out there. Finally after a long wait, I went inside to inform the teenager. He gave me some menus and we told him immediately what we wanted (we had looked up the menu before online). 55 minutes later, maybe more, our food came. The chicken GYRO was room temp and dry. The fries that it came with were stone cold. The regular GYRO was slightly warmer and the side salad was actually good. I can image this place could be better with adequate help. But, when we went it was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. To top it off we were traveling and wanted to get back on the road! There was a fun party of 13 sitting by us on the patio. They eased the pain a little. I hope they are still not sitting there waiting for their food! ;-) read more

I knew when the server showed up wearing a dirty, wrinkled KOA teeshirt that we were in the wrong place. We tried to order basted eggs but they don't baste eggs there. They don't have sourdough toast and their iced tea is powdered. Do yourself a big favor and run away !!! I don't know what it is but it's certainly NOT a restaurant. I asked them if they could make me one with over easy eggs instead of scrambled saying they had never made one they were dry it was amazing great service great food highly recommend stopping. Wow wow and wow!!! This place is freaking good. Passing by from Houston to LA. Tired of fast food n always looking for a decent meal in a clean environment with good friendly service. I found all that here. From the very young man at register to the young lady in kitchen. I ordered this breakfast burrito with egg, hash brown n pork shredded meat in green sauce IT WAS DELICIOUS!! we also got the bacon Mac n cheese. That was also good. Nicest staff I have ever met! So sweet and genuine and conversational. One of them was having the prickly pear stuffed French toast with prickly pear syrup- HAD to get it, smelled ridiculously good. It was small and clean and had outside seating that was shaded anddddd had an area with a couch and fire pit. My husband and I arrived today for a quick sandwich at Roadrunner Kafe..where we go often.. We had a Dr. Appointment so just had time for a quick bite. We knew they closed at 2pm. It was 1: 35 pm. As soon as we walked in the young girl at the counter informed us the kitchen was closed because they closed at 2pm. There two people in there eating and two had come out as we went in. Here's the thing..the girl didn't know but what we wanted a cool drink or ice cream. My husband told her it was only 1 35..we left and as we went out the door we saw a man who worked there. When my husband asked him why the kitchen was closed, he looked at his watch and said his wife was the cook and it shouldn't be closed. He was very kind and asked us to wait a minute My husband told him thank you but we were leaving. Our thought was the girl didn't want to be bothered. We have been in there before and after being served they just adjusted the sign on the door. People say SHOP LOCAL..I don't think we will be back. If places in Willcox want business then they need to take care of their patrons.. read more

Harley riding east outta Tucson. Stumbled on this little local owned restaurant attached to a KOA RV park campground. Managed & ran by a young couple from NY with culinary art training & experience. BEST bacon cheeseburger EVA!! No Costco frozen meat patty here. Thy have a scoop ice cream selection too. Spiro said the menu will soon expand to add some Filipino choices. Outside & inside dining. Didn't realize this was on a KOA Campground, so we were a little confused when we arrived to the address and saw " no trucks" and "private drive" signs, but we investigated because of the good reviews. Yes, it is a restaurant on a KOA, but they did have "Kafe Parking" and they were "Open". The service and food was great! The portion size was way more than we expected, so you definitely get what you pay for. If we lived here, we would definitely be regulars. I'd recommend this place to anyone passing through. These Texans were driving through from Phoenix to El Paso and this is a great halfway stop. read more
