Blueberry pancakes with prickly pear syrup

Who would have thought the KOA has the best breakfast restaurant. There's not a lot of choice in Wilcox for breakfast so we thought we'd try and reviews were good. Our server was the chefs daughter and she was as sweet as can be. I ordered the Roadrunner breakfast with my eggs over medium, most restaurants can't seem to get over medium eggs right but the chef nailed it perfectly!! My husband ordered the western omelet and it was delicious. The blueberry pancakes with prickly pear syrup were divine and huge! The other thing that needs to be good is the coffee and it was. I also recommend the home fries, they were crunchy on the outside and creamy soft inside, addictive!! Great food and great service!!

We came here on Sunday for lunch and it was pretty busy but were still able to get a table inside. I got the gyro which was delicious but it and the fries were cold. I also had a half house salad which was pretty big. I wish they offered a side salad size. The ranch wasn't very good. My boyfriend had the buffalo chicken salad and they accidentally brought out a buffalo chicken wrap. They took the wrap back and he reminded them he wanted the dressing on the side of the salad. They made the salad and did not put the dressing on the side. He was starving when it came out so ate it anyway but it had way too much ranch dressing on it so he didn't enjoy it. We tried 2 honey stix flavors (mountain clover and orange blossom) and didn't like either.

Located in Wilcox inside of the KOA campground, open to all. The staff was extremely friendly, bathrooms are clean. They also sell $1.50 snowcones and ice cream...Worth a try

    Southwest burger - fantastic!

This place is becoming a regular stop after our backpacking group hikes in the area. This time we just finished up 3 days at Aravaipa. The menu is small with a few Greek items, but includes salads, burgers, all the essentials. Prices seemed a little high, but the quality is there. Service was friendly and helpful - even after we asked for separate checks for 9 people, and one of our party spilled their soda all over! We sat outside which was just perfect in these quarantine times - they were able to accomodate our big group at one table with room to spare around us. I had the Southwest burger. The bun is the Bomb! There aren't many places that have high quality buns like that. The patty was big, and perfectly cooked. All the extras were served on the side which is how I like it. Their fries are to die for. They are lightly battered and fried to a crusty crunch. I rarely eat many fries, but I scarfed down the whole dang plateful. We didn't have time for ice cream, but it looked pretty delectable. Looking forward to my next trip to the area so I can stop in again!

Chicken fried steak. Plate come with mash and corn but we substituted the corn with rice.

Passing through and decided to try this awesome place. Turns out we made an awesome choice! We ordered a chicken fried steak which comes with mash potatoes and was smothered in gravy. We also ordered two hamburgers. My boys split the cheeseburger and my husband and I split the hamburger with egg and the chicken fried steak. The steak and the flavor was delicious. However a couple bites of the steak were a little chewy. I can only assume that it was the ends which usually have the little fat pieces. It's not really a big deal but just thought I'd point it out. The hamburgers were perfect! I love how they put all the toppings on the side. It kept the burgers from getting soggy. The fries were crispy perfect.

    Pecan cinnamon roll

The location is very clean and comfortable. The cinnamon roll was amazing. The food just ok. We ordered the chicken fried steak (frozen and from a vendor) it resembled a store bought chicken patty. The gravy, potatoes and jalapeño corn were tasty. A bit pricey for the meal ($18). Especially when served on paper plates. Everyone was very friendly. We'll see next try on breakfast.

Southwest Omelette and Stuffed French Toast Brioche.

What a little gem. A beautiful way to start the day. We had three items on the menu. Southwest Burrito, Southwest Omelette and Maple Pecan Stuffed French Toast. Savory and sweet all in one meal. Amazing!!! And Destiny our server was top notch with service and recommendations! You have to stop here and remember it is tucked away in to the KOA!

Since it was Feb, the vineyards were bare, but still a stunning sight. Plenty of indoor and covered patio seating. Chose a table on the turf courtyard, next to the cornhole and fountain. Got the wine flight ($16) - one white, one rose, two reds. Pamplet has a detailed description of each wine including the local vineyard, grape mix, etc. The lady working is so friendly, and she brought the flight out, along with a glass bottle of water. They close at 5pm, so left the cafe before sunset. Strolled the grape vine rows a little, before driving away towards the mountains basking in warm, pre-sunset rays. Wash your hands to sample their lavender hand soap and lotions. Liked how they use towels instead of paper towels at the bathroom. Nice pit stop near Willcox, and definitely worth stopping if you're going to Chiricahua.

They're about half the size as a regular empanada so you know what that means half the calories. Lol they come in pineapple pumpkin and apple. Each flavor was very tasty. The thing I like about empanadas is that they're not too sweet and these were just like that. I especially like the apple filling. It had a little bit of what seems to be cinnamon and it was again not too sweet, but perfectly sweet. Of course, and why am I the thing that makes an empanada great is also the crust. It was perfectly crispy on the outside. He's empanadas are the superstars! Another reason I love this place is because they're training people who have disabilities for employment. I had Chile Riano's with beans and rice. Everything tasted like the Mexican food that I love in Tucson. The portions are pretty large for the Rihanna's and then the sides were not overwhelming just right. I got to chill Reynolds and I ended up taking one home. I definitely recommend you giving this place to try especially because of what they do for the community. The prices were very inexpensive as well. If you're looking for a fun day trip and then you want a good meal this is a great place to stop while supporting the community. Fe Skillet (Fe is the chemical symbol for Iron, get it?) is a sweet little place with a broad menu of skillets and sandwiches, soups, salads, and more. My husband had the beautifully fried chicken with two sides, and I had a savory chicken salad sandwich on freshly baked foccacia, two sides. The sides were two kinds of soups, sweet potato and regular fries, salad, coleslaw, and a few more I can't remember. Best chicken noodle soup I have ever had, and I love making soup at home. My husband's salad had lots of extra thinly-sliced veggies in it, and the two types of fries were freshly cut on a mandoline. Crisp and tasty. We landed at the Fe Skillet in Pearce after a morning of birding down at Whitewater Draw - Arizona's Sandhill Crane mecca. Ericka is so welcoming and, because there were no more orders up after ours, she sat down with us for a few minutes to share her chicken soup recipe. Truly a scratch cook, and a professional nutritionist, she takes great pride in her work. Can't wait to taste the breakfast skillets when we make it back, and WE WILL BE BACK!

Pleasant place to enter and the owner, Erica, was warm, kind and was thoughtful. Her son was working on school work near us and she asked a couple of times if it bothered us- only a few others inside and honestly we were fine with it of course. It was easy and quiet enough for the 4 of us to visit . The menu has meals created in skillets as the name suggests. All was made fresh after we ordered. I ordered the skillet with two eggs, two meats(I got two orders of beef bacon) and a baked good(blackberry scone). It was tasty- blackberry scone was done in skillet and looked like a muffin top- crispy on outside and soft in center and was excellent. The only reason for 4 stars is the 45-55 minutes it took for us to receive the 4 meals. To be fair, Erica had let us know it may be a little bit as she was both server and cook that morning. Since there were four of us catching up with each other, it gave us more chat time.
