I called my sister, asked her if she could get us an appointment with Christina here for a Shellac manicure. Shellac is a polish that doesn't damage your natural nail (no filing the tops like gels) and it is UV cured, so it lasts about 10 days to 2 weeks. The Shellac I got here is the best one that I've ever had. She was careful not to get it on my cuticles and did two thin layers of a cheery Christmas-y color. Christina took her time, went over the tip like you're suppose to, and cleaned the top coat twice to get them super shiny. It's been two weeks exactly, and there are two small chips on my pointer fingers, but they are minimal and speak more to my use of my nails to pry stuff open rather than the polish. My main issue is my nails are growing out, so the polish needs redone. My sister sees Christina regularly, and she either has classy looking nails or some fun treatment or glitter for whatever season it is. I wish that I lived closer as this was the best Shellac I've ever had, as well as the least expensive at $20! Next time I'm in Iowa, I'll be stopping back by!

Heck, I stopped shampooing it about 5 years ago, my last hair cut was at least 2 years ago and my idea of a treatment is the occasional dollar store box of hair color when I'm feeling a tad "wild." Thankfully, I've been blessed with really happy healthy hair despite all of this but I wanted to try something new and never having "lightened" my hair before I didn't want to do it at home. Enter Majestix Salon and Aeh. When I first told Aeh I wanted to do something with my hair I REALLY REALLY wanted to do a blue ombre (go big or go home right?). Well, my work was less than pleased with this idea and told me absolutely not. So we settled on "lightening" my hair in increments so that by the time I am done with school and ready to switch jobs I can go straight to blue. Holy cow I love the way it turned out. My normally super dark hair now has movement, life, warmth and it just makes me happy. Not to mention Aeh trimmed off all ends without taking much length off my hair at all. Bottom line, my hair looks fantastic and I can't wait to see what she does as we slowly lighten it over the next few months in preparation for my blue 'do! Left feeling fresher and relaxed. Eye lash lift looked amazing. Looked so natural. I now see Michelle regularly for my facials and eye lash lifts. Highly recommend. Athena joined the salon a year ago doing structured nails. Thought I would give her a try. I've been trying to strengthen my nails. Athena does amazing work. She takes her time and does such a great time to do quality work. Love that fact she enjoys what she does and is military. Anyone looking to strengthen their nails I recommend Athena. Faye does an amazing job on hair. I see her everytime I go into the salon. She always greets me when I come in. I see first hand almost all of her hair cuts and styles. They all look fabulous.
