They have updated the rooms and now have some fabulous eating options as well, we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast didn't have to go to town deal with crowds or people we ate on absolute serene ambience, sitting by the pond eating our delicious fresh homemade breakfast. Just let them know that night before. What time do you want it delivered to your room and what you want. The grounds are stupendous. And I can't forget some of the most delicious cookies they give you on arrival. You can't go wrong staying here

The owners shared future plans and upcoming events that keep this location relevant, modern and yet maintains a little old west folklore'esk vibe. They will host family reunions, weddings and any other type of gathering you need. They are part of the local garden tour and will be having a Halloween Haunt coming up the end of October. We highly recommend this place for a one nighter or a long weekend or more. Great views of the night sky as well. We were able to see the Milky Way for the first time in years! My family loved it and hated to have to head back to reality in California Reasonable rates, pet friendly, free parking and close to local "lots to do's". Looking forward to all the future plans they have and will be returning as often as we can. Also, they have two EV charging stations for guest or if you are just passing through. Nice addition and service to meet the growing need...

There are rolling grassy hills that are golden in the winter and green in the summer. A lot of people don't realize that the temperatures down here (due to the elevation) are much like northern Arizona in the winter -- so it's a great alternative to "going north" to cool off in the Summers. Temperatures rarely reach 100 on a Summer day and it cools to the 60s at night -- a luxury we don't get in the Valley! Our most recent visit (February 2012) was windy but gorgeous. No jackets required! Toni, proprietor, has started a gluten-free / allergy-free bakery and makes human AND dog treats! I can vouch for the human treats being delicious -- I especially liked the quinoa cookies. And, there's a lot to do in the area. No less than 11 winery tasting rooms are near by (there is a limo service you can hire if you can't agree on a designated driver). Or visit Parker Canyon Lake which you can walk (5 miles), fish or rent pedal boats or kayaks. Patagona Lake is larger and offers a lot of amenities and both offer camp sites. But, why camp when you can stay at Whisper's Ranch?! And, finally, Kartchner Caverns are a convenient stop on your way back to Phoenix but be sure to make a reservation! Southern Arizona, and particularly Whisper's Ranch, are great alternatives to heading north for a quick getaway!

Thanks to the other reviewer, and other people on the roads, we found this place…read more It's in one of the most amazing parts of Arizona. It's so remote that the GPS couldn't find it. You find it by 'mile marker' rather than street address and it's on a 'highway' but the GPS can't find it. The country around there is incredible. It's sort of near a bunch of wineries... but mostly it's around nothing but beautiful rolling grasslands. The accomodations are comfortable and simple. We had a nice hot shower after a long drive and were very comfortable in our bed. We couldn't get an $85 room--- the least expensive was $100 for us. They definitely prefer if you book in advance, over the computer. They're hard to reach on the phone and we were really lucky to be able to wing it last minute by just showing up. Luckily they took us in. We couldn't believe how beautiful Elgin was. Then we drove the back roads to Patagonia, AZ which was also great. We didn't get to hang out with the animals which was a shame- they had donkeys too - and it seems like heaven if you're a retired horse or goose. If you're just a wandering human, it's pretty damn beautiful.

My experience at the Hidden Oasis was an extended stay, around 3 weeks and their casitas included everything I needed to feel at home, including wifi. I hope you have the pleasure of a wonderful meal prepared by Max and story time about Dragoon, the previous owners of the Hidden Oasis, Max and Chad's life and much more. The meditation labyrinth was a favorite spot of mine to enjoy a moment and take in the outstanding scenery of the surrounding mountains. To completely experience the Hidden Oasis I highly recommend enjoying some bourbon in the hot tub under the stars and watching the sunset by the fire pit. It's quite a show. If you need to stock your fridges and shop for essentials during your stay I recommend: Benson, AZ - 17 miles away (SafeWay/Walmart) Willcox, AZ - 25 miles away (SafeWay) Local Activities include hiking and exploring the wineries in Willcox. Pearce, AZ is a local ghost town with a couple of shops that is 20 minutes away. Whether it's for a night or a week I think you will love your stay at the Hidden Oasis.

Kim and Tom made us feel so welcomed and were very accommodating. There was even a handwritten welcome note wishing us a happy anniversary. The cottage itself made you feel like you were right at home. It was beautifully furnished and well equipped with basically everything you need except your own clothes. You do need to bring your own meals but the pantry was very well stocked with a variety of items and Kim made us a delicious quiche which we had for breakfast the next morning. They also gave us some very fresh eggs from their chickens to take home. The property was beautiful and so peaceful. Just outside the kitchen windows, you can see a wide variety of wild birds hanging out by the feeders on the trees. They had many chickens at the barn and cute little chicks that were just recently hatched. Kim was so patient and kind around our daughter, who helped her feed the chickens! During our morning walk, Cody the horse and Wilbur the goat even came over to say hi and allowed us to pet them. Our only regret was not being able to stay for longer. We will definitely come back soon! So if you live in Tucson (or anywhere else in the world, really) and want to getaway from the city, please do yourselves a favor and stay at Kim and Tom's!

The High Road's owners Tom and Helen are wonderful people and have become good friends over the years. Truthfully I think they would give us the shirts off their backs. Helen has thought of everything you might need to make your visit the most comfortable. There are extra blankets for the cool Bisbee nights and breakfast fixings for those beautiful Bisbee mornings. You can see forever from the wrap around windows all the way to Mexico not to mention the many varieties of birds and butterflies. We have made so many great memories here that it has gotten to the point if we can't stay at the High Road House, we don't come to Bisbee. It is a magical place and really that good! You will not regret your decision. Just be prepared to relax and breathe the clean cool air and don't forget your camera.

From the moment we walked in the door, we were delighted with the open and warm quality of the house. It seemed so spacious, light and airy. And it had everything we needed or would have liked. All it lacked was a lap pool in the back (joking!). There was a nicely equipped kitchen and even a washer and dryer. We loved the veranda and the small backyard where you could watch the birds and read a book. The stars at night were amazing and you could see them while lying in bed. Helen the owner was wonderful and greeted us on our arrival. She gave us many great tips about what to see and do. She provided breakfast items--eggs, milk, coffee, juice, muffins and bread---which were especially welcome the first morning after a long journey. The house was also set up with a TV and DVD and tape player as well as many DVD's and tapes. (Though we only watched TV for a few hours our whole stay). The Subys' book collection was wonderful. Histories of Bisbee, AZ travel guides, Eastern philosophy, novels and books I've never heard of. Great! I loved the choice of art work on the walls. And after checking out other guest places while we were there, we didn't find any that compared to the High Road House. We loved it and will return!!!
