I did like this hotel. The rooms are very clean. It was a very affordable price. Not far from NYC, Terrytown, Sleepy Hollow Housekeeping was on top of everything and very polite and helpful. The desk was friendly and polite. Nice Jacuzzi and good size pool. Workout room was typical hotel small facility. I would definitely go back here. The rooms are comfy but are definitely outdated and need some good TLC. There was a lot of wear and tear on both mattress headboards, the doors, and the chairs in the room. Very clean and quiet hotel. I flew in for a night for work and needed someplace close. I prefer the Hilton brand as it seems to be consistent with comfort, quality and cleanliness. The pool is really nice and I love that there is so much natural light coming in. The gym is perfect for a hotel quick workout. I did not visit the restaurant so can't attest to the food they serve. I wrote a positive review of this hotel the second day we were there. I should have waited because the 4th day was awful. Felt like we were criminals for being at the pool. It just so happens that when my family went to the pool, someone on the hotel staff thought it necessary to send a staff member to sit in the pool area while we were there. "Kevin" actually set up a chair by the door and literally watched us while pretending to be on a laptop. Quite laughable if not so sad. There were also a couple of staff members in and out. Wonder why??? Of note, if there was a problem that we weren't aware of, then the very least that should have been done was for someone to talk to us and not stalk us like we were criminals. Warm, friendly staff and good-sized rooms. The indoor swimming pool made it a nice winter stay. The only downside was that the hotel was fully booked, so common areas felt crowded and you saw people everywhere. For the price, I can't complain--and the buffet breakfast at $16 per person is a great deal these days. I was in the area for a school meeting and probably wouldn't visit otherwise, but overall it was a good experience. read more

Hotels in this area are often used by wedding parties to host guests, and this hotel is no exception. This is what brought us here. What is extraordinary, however, is that despite the revenue these events bring- certain hotels choose to treat their guests with disregard, disrespect, and even displacement. They take the money and give little in return. This hotel is an example of that exactly. The service at this hotel is horrendous, they do not work to accommodate guests, will leave you waiting in the lobby or otherwise, while they go about their day all the while claiming they have no availability.. despite rooms being available, and clean. This pattern recurs almost daily. It matters not how far you've traveled, how tired you are, your status with Hilton, or that you have a reservation. If you are a guest- I'd highly recommend that you stay elsewhere so that you may enjoy the event that brought you here. If you're planning an event- don't put your guests here, and don't put them through the torture of dealing with the incompetent and intentionally cruel people who man the front desk. Horrible night stay! Rating option should be ZERO! The heater ran constantly, it couldn't regulate the temperature comfortably and it sounded like a jet engine. There was no alarm clock. There was no guide to the TV channels or offerings. There was mold in the bathroom where the wall met the ceiling. The headboard looked like a cat had been using it as a scratching post. The cabinet door to the refrigerator was broken. The toilet paper holder was held together by scotch tape. The toilet seat was cracked. This is the second Hilton property we've stayed at with a poor outcome. We'll never stay at a Hilton property again! We'll be switching our stays to Marriot properties going forward! read more

I have stayed at double tree Nanuet before and had no real problems but the years have taken a toll the mattress was worn just not comfortable. The air conditioning is tired it was hot those days I stayed there but they were working hard you can hear it and the bed was on wrong wall ac was right on our heads at night simple put bed on other wall. They are renovating the hotel but one customer complained of a bad odder and it was bad differently from the renovations they are doing and need to ventilate better while the carpet glue dries just don't let it linger in the building use negative pressure system to draw the fumes to the outside. Well the pool was great just very hot in the room they should open the roof vents to draw out the heat they just did not care to do so. Check out is at noon time and we asked them to do our room at 8 am and never done 4 hours to make the bed and empty the garbage and change the towels, one dumb thing the room had a hot tub witch was hot because the cold water flow was very weak mostly hot water. Price was not bad for the room we had just some things that just were missed and needed to be maintained very easily if they just looked at each room and make a list of things to fix a valve on the tub small item big problem, mattress not hard to replace when they go bad and new air conditioners would save them money they are more efferent today, there's must be 15 years old to day at least. also the shower body soap was empty oh hell how did they miss that it's like no toilet paper what a miss that was. bath rooms were good clean just make sure there are enough towels for two people the room sleeps four and towels for only one simple mistake rooms should be checked after the a maid up for next use. Pool area was crowded at all hours. They definitely need more chairs, still. Tried the on site restaurant this time. It was ok...ordered online food was ready when expected. I stayed at this hotel for two nights. I just needed a basic hotel, so I didn't check out amenities, such as the pool. I will say while it overall felt safe and clean, it did seem rundown. There was an item broken in my room that I had to call someone to fix (and the maintenance person was lovely about it), and as I was checking out, there was another guest telling the front desk about something very broken in their room. It was overall fine for two nights though. read more

I stayed st this property in Nanuet N.Y. May 8th to May 11th 2025. The property looks nice but that's where it ends. I was there for three nights and my room was NEVER serviced. The bed linens were never changed , I received no towels and the garbage was never removed. When I went to the front desk the clerk informed me he would make a note of it. He did not offer clean towels or even an apology. He did ask if the "do not disturb" was on the door and it was not. The manager told me she would look into it . As of this post I have heard nothing from the managers of this property. I would have received better services at a Moyel Six. read more

I stayed here with my boyfriend from Dec 27-30 in 2021. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly by the front desk and check-in was seamless. We even received warm chocolate walnut cookies and complimentary water bottles. That was a nice treat to start the stay with. We were able to check in on the app also and picked out our room. We only went to the front desk to pick up the key cards because we prefer having a physical key in addition to the app key. Upon arriving into our room, the king bed and the room was very nice and cozy and clean. The bathroom is spacious, and the counter top has so much space which I loved with a bright and lighted vanity mirror. However, when I checked the shower heads (there were two), it looked like it could use a good soak and scrub because it had hardened limescale. (See pictures.) I requested for them to clean it the following morning as we could wait to shower until the next day since their room service options are limited hours. The following day, room service did a light clean in our room, took the trash and used towels, re-made our bed, and supposedly cleaned the shower heads. There was no visible change in cleanliness so I just cleaned one of them myself so that we could shower. I felt like it would be pointless to argue and call them back up if they weren't going to do anything. That was quite disappointing. They had an attached restaurant on the ground floor (Windsor Grille) whose food was really tasty and convenient. Their servers were kind and we were able to dine in and /or order for pick up to eat in our rooms. I wish they could have also delivered the food but no big deal. On the occasion we ordered our food to be picked up so we could eat in our room I noticed they gave us ketchup packets for our side order of fries but they were expired. I could tell because the packets were extremely puffy meaning bacterial gas build up. I threw them out. They were so puffy that I knew if I ripped one open it would burst with the gas and contents. Better safe than sorry. Restaurant needs to check their inventory to prevent guests from having food poisoning. Condiment packets are good for only about 90 days. I have a food safety license so I knew better than to let myself and my partner consume ketchup packets that were past their shelf life. Another thing to note about my stay is that the heater is extremely drying and inconsistent. It was cold in December naturally so we used it but I would have to raise the temp to like 79 to get the room at least up to a comfortable 70. It was just rather inconsistent and would make the room feel extremely dry although I tried to keep it at a solid room temp of 72 degrees. My partner and I did not attend the breakfast because it wasn't complimentary anyway so we would try local restaurants and diners instead which I highly recommend. Their restaurant was helpful and convenient for lunch or dinner because it was open late and just a few steps away. Overall, I had a pleasant stay at this hotel minus the poor clean on the shower head and the expired ketchup packets. They will hopefully address these issues in the future and have more room service availability. I would stay here again because the location was nice and their staff is kind. read more

We stayed here bc it was a wedding hotel. Our room was unlike any other Doubletree. It was dark and very dated. There was a broken pane of glass at the window that was taped together. The carpet always felt damp (temp outside was high 70s, low humidity), and the room was dark. When I say dark, I mean we couldn't see our clothes. There were 2 small bedside wall lights (each w 1 lightbulb) & 1 light on desk that had one bulb and a black lampshade. The window was small - an old window. Not floor to ceiling that you normally see on hotels today. Twice, we requested another lamp (e.g., a floor lamp which you normally see in hotels these days). None was sent up. This hotel is dated and clearly needs an upgrade. But this room should have been heavily discounted. read more

I recently stayed at this hotel for a wedding. The male staff member was very courteous and friendly. I do not have the name of the gentleman that helped us but he was there early in the morning on 7/17 and the evening of 7/17 (saw him behind the bar for two minutes after I finally got back to the hotel - it was like one of those definite no no's - we had to have a stranger drive us back and I will explain why below. The female manager here is not very friendly. She came to the front desk the morning of check out. I am assuming this is the assistant manager because when I called ahead of time, the general manager is a male. I had asked her where the coffee was and I felt that she was very short to answer any questions. With that being said, before check in, I did reach out to the general manager of the hotel to not be responded to via email a couple of days prior. I had heard back from other employees from the hotel. They were also very reluctant to connect me with the manager considering I did mention it was a personal matter (that I wound up never including in my written inquiry because I was uncomfortable that the manager never even called back). Another concern that I had was early check in as I was in a bridal party. Graciously, I was able to check in to the hotel and everything worked out well. Thank you to the original representative when I first arrived to the hotel on 7/17. Its really interesting when a general manager does not want to reach out or speak with their guests. I do know other people are assigned to this but... really? I had also reached out to the person in charge of the event coordination in regard to a different matter to see if the bridal suite would be fully equipped with everything we would need (ie: tissues, full length mirror, etc) He answered the questions that I had. The beginning of the conversation was nice and then he became short tempered Towards the end of our call. He did make me feel strange about confirming the bridal suite questions (I had asked if the hotel provided something that I could hang a wedding dress on. He had mentioned a coat rack but the way he worded it sort of made it feel like it would not have been a possibility. It really left off feeling off. Starbucks brewed coffee is complimentary. It is available in the main lobby. Cups, sugar and tiny creamer cups provided. Please note this location does not offer complimentary breakfast (I was told by another guest that they did but I was told during COVID, they do not). The number one concern that I had during my stay was the hotel is not secure. It was not the best feeling that anyone could go in the elevator without using their key to scan to go to a specific floor. This hotel is very large with many winding hallways. For safety, I couldn't say this is the best hotel. It was impossible to get back to the hotel because the hotel did not offer a shuttle. In the beginning I had mentioned that a complete stranger had to drive us back because literally everyone in town is drinking and driving. Finding someone that is not drunk here on a Saturday night becomes quite challenging. I was told by a female representative via the telephone, the reasoning is covid-19. She also said that the charge would be extra for the Wedding block. Usually the Hilton brands offer a shuttle within five miles. I confirmed this with the Hilton offices when I made my reservation and I was told a shuttle should have been in place. Having to pay extra for it when you have x amount of people staying in your hotel for $188+ at a double tree is not acceptable. I had a lower rate at the Hilton Pearl River than I did here. I was only ten minutes away from the hotel and the cost for Uber was $250. The up charge for Uber on a Saturday night before midnight is astronomical. I even called local car services and was unable to get back to this hotel. Please be mindful if you do not plan on driving while you are visiting this area because this was a very serious issue. Not to mention, it was pouring rain so that is very dangerous as well. The rooms are clean. I did not have a complaint about the cleanliness of my room. Beds were somewhat comfortable in my opinion and pillows were great. Showers do not have pressure and I am not exactly sure why all the shower heads at a lot of the Hilton properties are poorly made. The parking lot was very crowded so the hotel was pretty full. The hotel does offer enough trolleys in the lobby if you have a lot of luggage. My review originally was going to be four stars until the transportation and safety issues kicked in. The hotel was just ok. read more

Enjoyed our 3rd stay at DoubleTree this past week! It's nice and tucked out of the way in Nanuet, tons of parking and very clean rooms. I dinged my prior review a star because of a couple issues that cropped up. Firstly, they aren't doing full room cleanings anymore, which is fine, but the system for requesting it must be flawed because we waited 2 days, while asking 3 times, for towels. Also, the refrigerator was poorly placed in the kitchen (it was backwards and hit the door handle and was hard to get into) and it was broken because everything kept freezing no matter what I set the temp to. Also, our shower ceiling leaked. But we will still come back again next visit. read more

Stayed at this property for one weekday night. Check-in was quick and easy. Once in the room, it was found to be comfortable and clean. The bathroom was also clean and supplied with nice bath products. The bedding was very comfortable and I slept well, which is rare on my first night of any trip. I had breakfast in the hotel's restaurant the following morning. This is a buffet style breakfast which costs about $18.00, tip is included. The breakfast was good. For those folks who have commented on the layout of the hotel, this property appears to have had an addition / extension added to the original hotel. At every corner in the hallways is signage directing folks to their destination (room numbers, elevators, lobby, etc). This hotel was great! We stayed here as part of a wedding block package. We had a king room. The room itself was fucking massive. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable. The room was large enough to fit a couch and coffee table. It was honestly one of the largest hotel rooms I have ever seen. My parents came by the next day to meet my girlfriend and I for lunch and even they were blown away by the size of the room. We didn't use the shower (oops) so I have no comments on that. The toilet flushed strangely I remember, I think very very aggressively which is actually an advantage but somewhat frightening in the middle of the night. Sink counter was large. Bc this place is essentially in the middle of nowhere Rockland County (no offense) there isn't much of a reason to come here for the area but if you have to be here this is a nice choice. I made my Hilton Rewards account after booking the room and they still applied the points to my account! Awesome. read more

It's a relatively decent hotel for families but not a place where you can expect any quiet during Valentines weekend. The hotel was sold out to maximum capacity by families with kids running around everywhere, running down halls and taking over the pool. There was a wait list to enter the pool area and it was packed with children. Even the hot tub wasn't off limits to children, leaving absolutely no space or tranquility for adults to enjoy valentines weekend at this hotel. One of two treadmills was broken. I really wish they were more organized and had a sign up list for an adult only swim hour in the evening. read more

I needed to come to the DoubleTree by Hilton to rest after camping at a nearby State Park for 2 weeks, and the hotel desk staff José and Chloe made the stay at this property worth it. Especially José's go-to response to ANY request, "I got you!" After my nightmare experience at the Logan Airport Hilton in Boston I had been feeling so discouraged and disenfranchised that I completely forgot that kind people still do exist in the hospitality industry. And of course they are located in New York. Of course they are! There were a few bumps. When I initially arrived and checked-in there was some young teeny-bopper looking guy with his pants sagging and a fitted, standing just feet away from my hotel room door, who seemed to be waiting for the exact moment that I entered my room so that he could quickly walk and pass by me closely at my door - it was a little TOO close for comfort so it felt a bit threatening to be charged at WHILE I WAS TRYING TO ENTER MY ROOM ALONE - with my bags. ALL the space in that hallway and yet he felt the need to invade MY personal space, I could almost feel his breath on my neck. I didn't know if he was going to push me in my room, assault me, or what his deal was. If I wasn't feeling so intimidated by him in that moment I would have told him to pull his damn pants up over his behind and mind his manners, "young man, PLEASE go somewhere and put on a belt and pull up your pants!" I feel like some millennials are hard pressed for best practices training on how to show respect towards others in a public setting. Also, there seemed to be a lot of bumps and violent noises coming from the room above me, I was concerned that someone may have been in an abusive situation so I called Chloe at the front desk to inform her that it seemed there may be a fight or something happening. Chloe assured me that it was just the maintenance crew up there, so it was a relief to know that no one was actually getting hurt. This property has on-site laundry facilities, so it was really great to get my laundry done while a guest there, and to finally wash my much traveled sleeping bag, which had been to several different states in the past month. The one thing that keeps me from giving that 5th star is the whole housekeeping department! On day 2 of 3 housekeeping staff members came into my room several times btw 8a and noon. They just KEPT coming in beginning at almost 8am on the dot! Though I mentioned each time, "I don't need anything, I'm okay" someone would come back again an hour later, open the door, and just walk right in! How many times did they need to come in my room before there was communication within that department that my room wasn't in need of housekeeping? How many times did they need to barge right in before understanding that my room had already been taken care of? Also, on the day that I checked out (check-out is 12 noon), housekeeping staff began knocking on my door at 11:55a to ask me when I was leaving. I'm sorry, but that is just rude and unprofessional. Wait until I leave - it was literally just a matter of minutes! There is no need to pressure the guests like that! That was unnecessary and frankly, it was a big turn off. But again, as I mentioned, José and Chloe really helped to make the stay enjoyable. It was nice to come face to face with people who are actually nice. Give them both a raise please, they deserve it. read more

The other side it the hvac for the common areas we're not working it was very hot in most hallways and elevators. Other then that the rooms and hotel were very clean. Wow...I'm not sure where to begin. As of recently, it seems all Hilton properties I have stayed with, has taken a turn for the worst. We booked one night at this hotel, because while traveling we were expected to arrive after 1 am in the morning, for a surprise visit to my in-laws. On booking the reservation, I made a note that our arrival would be after 1am. I called the hotel to confirm this the day of the flight and was given a "very polite, no problem". Fast forward to 330 am, after having the worst experience at Hertz rental car and driving an hour to Nanuet. The night auditor, as I walk in, tells me he's running his audit , so I have to wait. I explained I had a reservation, that was confirmed on the app and I spoke with a young woman earlier. He proceeds to tell me he cancelled my reservation for a no show, because policy is if the guest hasn't checked in by midnight, they assume your not coming. At this point, I'm perturbed because clearly on my reservation it stated I was arriving AFTER 1am. He proceeds to tell me I should have called....I DID! If there is a note on my reservation, that I will arrive AFTER 1AM, why wouldn't you make a courtesy call to see if I'm still coming? so here we go....I start to call customer service and miraculously he finds a room for me, that I already picked on my initial reservation. ..room 314. Finally we get in the room, and that was a nightmare. The smell was musty and stale. It looks like the room was recently under renovation but the contractor forgot to cover several holes in the walls and replace the fire system. Since my husband is a construction project manager, these things come naturally in notice. So , I was charged for 2 nights, never received my double points, nor my additional 500 points for booking on the app. And, not ONE apology.... Excellent customer service and care given during Coronavirus pandemic! I am a front line worker traveler nurse who stayed here while fighting the pandemic. The hotel was spotless and they made every effort to make my stay stress free: no request was too little or too much. When I initially phoned from Arizona to book the room Olivia gave me a special rate as I was coming to fight the virus, which I appreciated! Every morning manager Lily greeted me with a smile and offered me breakfast to go. Evening staff member Peter was always offering me free warm cookies and assistance with my faxing and other business needs. The hotel itself is very beautiful and I wished it was open; they have a beautiful pool and work out room and what appears to be a great steak house. The rooms are super roomy and cleaned daily. The beds were so comfy I hated getting out of bed! Convenient location with access to highways. Also, a beautiful location next to the bucolic areas by the Pearl River and boarding New Jersey. When my assignment was changed to a different location I asked if I could check out after 3 eats of a 30 day stay. Peter was very accommodating and allowed me to check out without any penalties. This is a hard time for everyone and being a nurse working on the front lines is even harder, especially when your family is so far away. I was there with a motorcycle group the first weekend in May. From the very beginning Rickie at the front desk treated us like royalty. Our stay was absolutely wonderful, upstairs in the restaurant we found out Michael was a fellow biker he was wonderful as well. Wendy the woman who cleaned our room, was also just delightful. Unfortunately, The weather forced us to stay an extra night. Skyler, Understood the urgency that we had to stay another night and helped us out by keeping us in the same room. I have to admit I had an experience at the Doubletree in Massachusetts that's made me swear I would never go back. The entire staff at this particular Doubletree change my perspective! Our entire family stayed here for a nearby wedding. The rooms were good. Our room was a suite and it was comfortable. Some rooms are pet friendly. The staff was okay. Some people really great, others not. We had to conplain on a few issues but the senior manager made it right, but only after going up the chain to her and getting a bit aggravated. Special thanks to Lily for making some difficulties go away and handling the situation with kindness and making us feel valued as Hilton Honors members. One star here is just because of her. We stayed from Friday to Sunday as we were in town for a family wedding. Room 340 has a very strong cigarette stench; my cousin that stayed here had to get moved to another room. I'm not sure why housekeeping wouldn't report this room to management so that this room would be unavailable for stays. My cousin staying in room 338 found panties in the closet that was clearly from a previous stay. When he told front desk about it, they asked him why he didn't find it sooner. After much haggling, they took a grand total of $4.44 off his bill. In room 336, the tub was clogged and we were standing in water up to our shins while we showered. There was hair all over the bathroom, as well as a bug on the floor. The sink wouldn't drain as quick, and the shower door wouldn't close. The outlets were all defaced and wouldn't hold anything you plug into it. When I told the manager about this, he tried to tell me that it was because I'm not using an Apple charger. So I showed him that it wasn't any different with an Apple charger. The manager sent a person up to fix the tub, who also fixed the shower door while he was there. Room 334 had feces and urine stains on the toilet, hair clippings around the sink, and the tub was a filthy mess. All of these rooms conveniently had the blue sticker placed on the door prior to our check in. If the bathrooms weren't cleaned, it makes me wonder whether the sheets were changed from the previous stay. The whole room was filthy and the telephone had stains all over it. Even after I complained about the outlets, the manager didn't send anyone to fix it for me. As a recompense, he offered me points. But no amount of points would make up for the filthy and lackluster living conditions we endured as a family for 2 nights. When I told him about the dirty bathrooms, he said the bathrooms were cleaned after we complained about them - as if that sufficed. The point is to have them cleaned before the next customer checks in, not after. Since the manager and assistant manager made it seem like everything was our fault, I have escalated my complaint to Hilton corporate, and I hope they investigate the validity of our complaints and make the necessary amends. Long story short, my stay was so bad, I checked out on Sunday even before the sun was fully up. read more

This was booked as a romantic getaway for my significant other & I. We booked ahead of time for a specific type of room. Upon arrival, they told us they didn't have that available and that we can check tomorrow if anyone checked out of those rooms but otherwise that's all they can give us? Why would we have paid extra for a specific room if we wasn't going to get It ? Then upon contacting the third party site It was booked through. They came back and told us how the manager didn't allow for any reimbursement even though they didn't give us what we paid for. They didn't greet us nicely or give us basic amenities. Never got any of those famous cookies they brag about. The pool was beyond crowded even though it says 32 people max. Multiple people were let in from side entrance to go enjoy the pool area who were not even guests. The pool was hot. This will be the last time i come here. read more

Stayed in room 351---NEVER AGAIN. Overall, the experience was fair. The desk chair was very tired and worn. The room was fine, bathroom OK. However, the noise from a compressor or something on the roof was terrible. Very loud and it lasted all night. I stayed here 3 days for a conference near by. The burgers were good at the bar and my room always was clean. Mechanical heat and cooling was sooo loud it woke me up every-time it turned on. Definitely not bad for the price. There laundry room was clean. I would stay here again. The pool was great! Nice and warm with the hot tub next to it. Overall a clean place. read more
