We needed a reasonably priced hotel in Nanuet, NY--about the halfway point between Washington, DC and Boston along the Garden State route. After a thorough search, this property emerged as one of only two options that didn't fall into the "high roller" price tier common to the area's newer hotels. The hotel was uncommon for other Quality Inns, in that it is more vintage with flaws that need attention. The hotel was budget but acceptable. In my opinion, the staff could use some hospitality management skill-training. The receptionist seemed lost in his personal-phone and barely recognized our entrance; he lacked a welcoming greeting and the grace that that position requires. Previously before arriving, phone calls were not answered by the desk and my calls always switched to the answering service. The room light fixture was broken and disconnected, not replaced; we plugged it into the wall to make it work. The second light was unplugged. The bedding and pillows were clean and comfortable. Only 2-towels when women tend to need two. The toilet seat was loose. The room we entered was musty until we turned on the air. No mention of the railroad train loudly passing the rear of the hotel at night. Signs about no smoking, but the second floor smelled like excessive cigarette. The ice machine on the 3d floor was inoperative. The breakfast was slight - waffles no butter, 2 apples, bread slices, and juice. No suitable milk. The hostess was busy with the front desk, so the tables were dirty and the dining room unattended. The inn has a fitness room that was good, clean, and a plus. There is no other good budget choice in this area, but this Quality does not meet the higher standards of other Quality Inns. If cost is a deciding factor, I would not rule this option out for a place to sleep for the night. read more

Would not recommend at all. Furniture was broken in lobby. Cancelled reservation and went next door to Element Hotel which was nicer and cleaner. The front desk supervisor that was obnoxious. Not supposed to be running your DL through the ID machine. Over the years and change of management the property has become run down. read more

I would give it a zero if I could. The staff was hardly ever by the front desk. The ice machine was broken on 3rd floor. Our room didn't get cleaned until the 2nd day of being there. We had to take out our own garbage. When my husband asked for a plastic fork or spoon they said they didn't have anything he could use, even though there is a breakfast in the mornings. The pool is on the website but I didn't see one. The place doesn't look like anyone takes care of it. It also smelled of smoke and weed even though it says no smoking. Well, there are no bed bugs! This place is what you expect for a two-star hotel. They do offer breakfast in the AM in this case it was make your own waffles. The rooms come with a microwave and refrigerator however, our room was missing a fridge. Things were aged for example the chair was darkened/ blackened by human perspiration and guck. It smelled like cigarettes and feet. Even though it is a no-smoking hotel. Oh, FYI this place accepts pets. read more

Very poor customer service. Whenever they answer their phone you have to ask for there name. I booked a reservation with this location while on my break through Booking. Com on a overnight shift. Upon getting home I realized that the location was not going to work out during the time of my in law funeral. This was a three days in advance reservation. Once I got home I canceled the reservation within 6 hours of it being booked. I and was informed by Booking. Com that my complete deposit may not be refunded but I should email Q I Spring V @ Nanute, NY. I called numerous times. Once they decided to answer the in coming phone call. I was told that my refund will not reflect on my credit card for approximately 7 business days. I waited patiently for the refund up to 14 days. Called again and was not able to get the manager to the phone until 48 hrs of trying to settle this matter. Only to be told by him that my reservation is considered non refundable. Now my credit card Goldman Sach is handling the matter. This is considered to be corporative manipulation, scamming. Very poor customer service!! read more

Hotel room was dirty when we arrived and refused to be cleaned. Staff claimed we had made the mess. Bodily fluid stains on the bed skirt... trash around the floor. The AC was running but not blowing cold air so we had to sleep out of the covers. Toilet was constantly running. The shower rod was half pulled out of the wall and mold coming out of those cracks. Refrigerator constantly making loud noises. Paint on all walls peeling off. No phone in our room. I tried to call the front desk from my cell phone, had a short conversation with the front desk guy and he started to get upset about my complaints when he just hung up. So I went downstairs and he legit had the worst customer service ever. I was holding my e-cigarette and the first thing he said was "NO SMOKING HERE!" When I was legit just holding it. Then I proceeded to ask for a new room and he refused to change claiming they had no clean Ron's available. I called choice hotels and they told me there were rooms available for the evening and had them speak with the front desk. Still no change of room. As I was walking away the front desk guy asked me if I new where to get any weed. I was appalled. How can I rate this place ZERO stars? It is absolutely terrible. Dirty. The lobby had pallets of what could have been construction materials but also might just have been stolen goods off of some truck piled up. There were sketchy looking characters everywhere, and the place stunk of marijuana. I got on the elevator, and one of the guys sitting in the lobby at 1:30 a.m. got up and rushed to get on with me, and I genuinely thought I was likely about to have to fight for my life. The toilet was running when I got into my room, and I had to fix it myself because there was no phone in the room with which to call the front desk ... and the guy at the desk didn't answer when I tried to call from my cell phone. I literally had to disassemble the rocker arm and flapper in the toilet tank and put it all back together the right way to get the toilet to stop running. The paint is bubbling and peeling. The bed is absolute rubbish. There was garbage just piled up on the floor in the hallways. I'm posting a picture of the pool. The fence around it is leaning over. The entire area is deeply overgrown with weeds. And the water has clearly not been clean since the late 90s. When I showed this picture to my 7-year-old son after I returned from my trip he said, "Dad, there are definitely dead bodies at the bottom of that pool." And I think he might be right. I unfortunately was stuck staying here two nights because I couldn't get out of my reservation. In the morning after my first night, at about 8:30 a.m., I was getting ready for the day when someone tried to get into my room. I had the door double locked, but they were able to push in until I slammed against the door and announced, "Hey, I'm in here!" Whoever it was -- housekeeping, maybe -- said, "Sorry!" And then they tried to open the door again until I slammed it shut again. I took all of my belongings with me when I left for the day just to be safe. And when I returned, the hotel staff had checked me out! I went to the desk to make sure I wouldn't be charged for a second night ... happy, frankly, to think I'd be free to go and check in at a better place. Instead, the guy at the desk just gave me a new key card for the same crappy room and checked me back in. This place was awful. Choice Hotels ought to be ashamed of themselves for charging people money to stay at this dump. It should be condemned and demolished, and then the debris should be set on fire and allowed to burn until there's nothing left but ash ... and then they should shovel that ash across the parking lot and use it to fill in that disgusting hole in the ground they call a pool. read more

If it were possible to give zero stars I would. Do not be fooled by the name because quality is not a priority at this establishment. From first walking into the door there was this disgusting smell in the room of old food. The carpet was stained so badly with God knows what I made it a point to wear my shoes at all times when walking around the floor. I thought the bed would be safe but I'm pretty sure they didn't change the sheets since I found the top of a Burger King ranch dipping sauce stuck to the under side of my pillow. Stay away from this hotel, they shouldn't even be part of the Choice Hotel brand. We had reservations for June 11 to June 13, 2021. We arrived around 5 o'clock in the afternoon on June 11 and the hotel was in total disarray because of construction the lobby ,the elevator, the hallways. Light fixtures and electrical wiring hanging all over the place. It was a complete mess, construction dust everywhere and there were even sections of walls missing. Immediately told the front desk clerk (Jeremy) that we're not staying here and we want a refund because of the conditions of the hotel. The front desk told me they were going to provide me with a refund and We wound up checking into another hotel in Nanuet which is more money. I did contact my credit card and explained to them what happened. Well Guess what? Today I received a letter from capital one stating that the hotel submitted a receipt for my stay and that they were not going to refund me the money because that I stayed at the hotel. I reviewed the statement from quality Inn that Capital One received and it was completely falsified with check-in times Of June 12 at 4:03am in and check out time of June 13th at 12:03PM! Guess what? My reservation was for June 11 through the 13th! Also check out time for the hotel is 11 AM! The two employees that are on the reciept are listed as mdemos and jhema . I have a receipt for the other Hotel Nanuet that I stayed in as proof. I will be contacting the hotel manager tomorrow morning and demand an explanation for the false hotel statement and a refund in full. read more

Violation of privacy. I booked a room over the phone. The receptionist was very pushy with pushing a "Rewards Program". I clearly stated several times "No, I do not wish to enroll in the program". The receptionist enrolled me anyways, and now I get spam from the program. There is no way to un-enroll from the program. The phone number to un-enroll simply leads to a nondescript voicemailbox. ***UPDATE*** I eventually got connected to someone claiming to be able to remove me from the program. The guy asked me to remove this yelp review. I told him I will remove the review when I am stop receiving spam. I am still getting spam. I have clicked Unsubscribe in the e-mails, and am still getting the spam. I would like to emphasize: Booking at this hotel will sign you up for a spam list (aka Choice Rewards) from which you will never escape. read more

The room smelled like mildew and the hallway smelled like old garbage. There were no waffles at breakfast and our toilet clogged. The refrigerator doesn't get cold and the comforters on the bed are thin. The only plus is that there is a newly renovated Target in walking distance. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I've never been in a dirtier hotel than this before. Walked into the lobby the first thing I saw was trash on the floor with an overflowing trash can, cushions on the couch that weren't bothered to be put back in there original spot, and stains on the carpet. The person at the front desk didn't seem like he knew what he was doing probably on a lack of training. Mind you this was around 10pm that i checked in so it wasn't busy. Then I went up to the room and there was stains on the carpet inside the room, it looked like the sheets hadn't been changed either. Then on the way to check out the bathroom I noticed there's an inch of dust caked into the floor surrounding the edge of the room. The AC looks like it hasn't been cleaned in a while as well. The room itself looked like no one had been in it for a while. There was also mold on the shower curtain. Oh and don't forget about the several trains going by early in the morning blaring there horn. They only have an outside pool so don't plan to swim in the winter. There breakfast is nothing to be desired as well. I definitely wouldn't stay here again and actually wanted to leave as soon as I got into the room. read more

Extremely disappointed. If I could, I would give 1 star. We should have checked yelped instead of relying on Google pictures. The pictures on the website do not in any way match the actual hotel. As soon as you walk in, you're met with a stench of cigarette smoke and weed, which is even heavier in the halls and room. Rented two king rooms. One room did not have a phone or coffee maker, the other's toilet did not work. The carpets were dirty. Just as the other reviews, we found bugs in the bed. Same exact ones in the pictures of other reviews. The bathroom was very dirty with hair in the sink and shower. Found hair inside of the bed sheets, pretty sure they were not changed prior. Saw two other guests leave upon arrival because of bad customer service and simply the deceptive look and faults in the hotel/room. The only positive of this hotel is it's location to the palisades and target. If you can, however, look into other local hotels before booking here. We had a bad experience here. Even though I reuested a quiet room, the lady at the front desk put us in a room that was closest to a construction site that started work early in the morning, waking us up and keeping us awake. We were able to get a quieter room upon complaining. The rooms need to be renovated. The carpets appeared dirty. Did not try the breakfast. We will pay more to stay elsewhere next time. read more

I do not care what other people see this place is really good it's not a big hotel it's more like a motel with four floors plus the lobby so it's literally 5 floors in total. I wasn't at first going to go to this place because I had found another hotel that was more popular than this one but I had to cancel because that one only wanted essential workers as guests so it was looking like a dub so I booked this place before I booked it i made sure to call them to make sure that they had a room available and they said yes I booked it on the same day and later on I was ready to check in I checked in at five and I left by midnight. They have free parking Wi-Fi was available and didn't crash . The rooms are really clean I really love the bed the way that everything was organized I asked for extra towels and they made sure that I had extra towels the TV was working everything was working the bed was really well done there wasn't any noise they even have a vending machine in the hallway for each floor so you can get a snack or a drink it's really nice so I think this hotel is one of my top five for local hotels in this area. My one pro for this hotel is where it's located because it's located all the way in the back after a bunch of stores in the back of target so I was kind of lost getting it there because the hotel is really like mad far especially if you're not from the area like I am you will get lost but other than that it's pretty decent read more

This used to be a Fairfield Inn by Marriott but it recently changed to Quality Inn. We stayed there several times when it was a Fairfield Inn. We recently stayed there since it changed hands and, WOW, what a disappointment!!! Wallpaper was peeling off the walls, carpet in general area was tattered and dirty, TV reception was terrible, internet was very slow, breakfast was terrible. The refrigerator in the room was so noisy we had to turn it off in order to get any sleep. I can't hardly find the words to describe how terrible this hotel is. We will never stay there again and certainly would never recommend ANYONE staying here. if I could give it zero stars I would if this option was offered. read more
