I have mixed feelings about my stay at the DoubleTree in Huntington, WV, but overall, it was a good experience. I'm going with 4 stars, and I'd I want to highlight I would stay here again. When I arrived, I noticed the valet delivered a car and then went back inside while I waited for assistance (there's no self-parking at the hotel unless you find something nearby on your own). After waiting for a bit, I went inside to track down the valet myself. Check-in wasn't the warmest either as I found it to be not very inviting, and there was no Hilton Honors recognition, which is usually a a benchmark for members. I was also questioned about two people checking in when it was just me who came up to the counter. It made me feel like they were keeping an eye on the food and beverage credit, but who knows it could have just been me, it wasn't in the friendliest of tons and just rubbed me the wrong way. The room was comfortable but definitely showed its age upon closer inspection. It had all the essentials you need like an iron, full-size ironing board, safe, mini fridge, and so on. The bed was super comfortable, and we slept well, which is what matters most to me. The breakfast buffet the next morning was just okay, but the staff really stood out. They were friendly and even went to the back to grab me a Diet Coke, which I appreciated. I'm a big fan of the Hilton brand, and because of my loyalty, I'd stay here again. It wasn't an amazing stay, but the location downtown, with its walkability to good food and shopping, added to the stay. The common areas are great too, so while there's room for improvement with some of the interactions and operations (based on my experience), I'd choose to stay here again. read more

We used points to stay at DoubleTree because we were visiting Huntington and were intrigued by the pool! For the points, this was a solid stay, though the hotel is worn and dated. While our room was superficially clean, it needed some maintenance: -dated decor -deep cleaning needed on shower/bathroom due to mold/water damage -water marks on furniture -very Stained carpets -Super dirty windows What was great: -Friendly staff - Ian was so friendly and helpful! Great recommendations! -Great location, easy to walk everywhere downtown -SUPER Comfortable bed (also, I check thoroughly for bed buds; the mattress had some human stains but no signs of any bugs anywhere in the room). -Free cookies, thought we gave ours away -very clean pool area, though they needed more furniture Again - overall, a solid stay! read more

WV 01-2024 Tony & I are back in West Virginia so we stopped in Huntington, WV to spend the night at the Hilton's Doubletree Hotel. It was snowing and I need to get my oil changed tomorrow so easier to stop here and wait it out. The hotel is really nice. It looks like it was an Old office building that was restored into a hotel. I really like that concept. The staff we met is really nice, helpful and friendly. I recommend the hotel. Our room was very nice. The parking garage is $10 highly. Lovely lobby! read more

This is a very nice hotel. The lobby is very open. The rooms a pretty clean and updated. They offer valet parking for $10 daily. There is street parking but it is metered (not an issue on the weekends). They offer breakfast (fee) and there is a restaurant on site. Plenty of nice restaurants within short walk or drive. Lots of amenities. Only minor issue was shower needs more pressure. read more

They need a lot of upgrading their plumbing is leaking in the basement part where the laundry room is. It needs some great improvements because it hasn't been updated for years and I'm sure there's a lot that is falling apart around them and people are telling them about it but they're not listening. The hotel was a nightmare.. youths loitering outside asking for guest to get them free food, fights in the parking lot with the local police called.. it was a horrendous experience. The workers seemed very nonchalant about all of this. What a joke. read more

Pros: friendly staff, nice lobby, good location with some restaurants & college-town vibe, good price. Cons: room (1017) poorly laid out with a/c blowing directly on the bed and only one light switch for both sink and toilet/shower so bed illuminated if someone needs the toilet at night. We decided to "splurge" on a DoubleTree because we thought they were supposed to be nice. Well, the shower water leaked out and flooded the whole bathroom floor. The tv is from 2001. The whole room wreaked of cigarettes and we could literally see the hallway lights from the bottom of our door. Everything just seemed really dirty. Okay there is a reason we book two months in advance we want a certain category of room. We get an email for early check-in and keyless entry as a rewards member. We try to use it in the hotel manager says that there is a delay with our room. Come back after four. We show up after 4:30 and we are giving the excuse of we're sorry we don't have that room(Governor Suite), but we will give you complementary breakfast and free valet and a base queen room. I'm sorry we booked a specific room category. This Hilton probably is not the place to use anymore. This will be our last day at a Hilton property after we use our points. We will cancel our credit cards and start using Marriott. read more

I arrived at 4:30 pm on MLK day (Monday) and I was greeted by the front desk people. Check in was quick and smooth. I was given a bottle of water and two warm cookies (they were burnt). The room came with a $15 food and beverage credit to be used in the hotel (restaurant or food pantry). This is a downtown location, so parking is limited. I was able to park at a meter outside the hotel. I was assigned a room on the fifth floor, and you can tell that the hotel is a little dated. It's clean and organized and everything was working in the room. It was furnished with a refrigerator, cable TV, safe, iron and ironing board and coffee maker. The bathroom has a bar of soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion. I would stay at this location again. The rooms are nice, clean and the service was prompt and attentive. read more

First of all, let me say the staff was friendly and the hotel and room was clean. I was disappointed in the fact that their bar and restaurant was not open and the breakfast buffet consisted of sweet baked goods, I chose this place for these things, so that it was convenient for me and my problems with walking. It was a New Years treat. If you decide to stay there, call and find out what is open and available. read more

Ok ! I was really disappointed with this establishment the outside and the lobby are definitely eye catching and they draw you in but the rooms I was extremely disappointing. I purchased connecting rooms when I open the connecting doors it was blocked by a refrigerator so I had to move it to be able to utilize the rooms . The carpet is nasty the curtains had tears in them . (See pictures). Then at breakfast they wanted to charge me 16:95 for a buffet breakfast even tho I am a Hilton honor member. ( the breakfast situation was resolved but it definitely is not worth 16.95 it was typical nothing special .... We was there two day for a wedding and I have stayed in several of Hilton hotels and by far these were the worst rooms (. Room 1015& 1017). Dirtiest hotel room I've ever stayed in!!!!! Standing water in stopped up sink. Red and black mold on tub/shower. At least 2 types of hair on the wall in the shower. One of the towels obviously not washed from previous user - brown stains! Carpet and hard floor not vacuumed in many days Dust!! Given cold cookies when checked in - not the warm ones! I tried to be kind to this place the first time I stayed here but after this unsatisfactory stay, I have to give this place an accurate rating. This Doubletree does not even meet the bare minimum for satisfactory guest services. I'm a Hilton Diamond so you get some perks when staying at Hilton properties. Unless it's this DoubleTree. It was disappointing that when checking in, I got no cookie and no water, but whatever. It sucks that they don't have any self-parking at the hotel but you can valet for $8, but so be it. It stinks that when I get to the room, there are no Kleenex and there is only one small bar of soap at the sink. However, when I'm paying $360 for a room in Huntington WV (yes, you read that right) I'd expect to at least get comped a biscuit. But nope, my husband and I went to the breakfast and I had a biscuit and a cup of water and he had a bowl of corn flakes. Total bill=$23. I actually went to the front desk to make sure that was right and was told I get a $12 credit. Great, so now it's just $11 for a bowl of corn flakes. The lady told me breakfast was from 6-10 daily when I checked in, but what she didn't say was that regardless of my status, I'd pay for it. I should have asked what the charge was before taking my biscuit and then I could have just gone to Starbucks and spent less and got better quality food than the stuff they open out of cans so that's my bad. There are just too many negatives about this place for me to recommend it. I know they're just enforcing corporate policy and it doesn't look like they have any actual management on site, so I am not expecting anything resembling exceptional service from the staff (although the lady in the dining room was actually amazing so shout out to her). There are plenty of options around that probably won't nickel and dime you, will give you supplies for your room and treat you like a valued guest. Doubletree is not one of those places. read more

I can not say enough good things about the people that work at this hotel. We came in for a wedding and when we pulled into valet, my husband discovered that the key fob to our rental car was missing. We had been traveling since 3am and we were delirious. A whole team of valets and other employees came out and helped us find the key. My husband had dropped it inside a pocket of one of our travel bags. They literally saved the day! The wedding rehearsal dinner and reception was at the hotel and they did a phenomenal job! Thank you so much to the employees here! You are doing an amazing job! read more

Nice people, but ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! $150 for a room, and they don't even have guest parking? I pull in close to midnight, after the valet left, and have to park on the street, and get up and MOVE MY CAR AT 8 AM? Get stuffed, Hilton. I usually stay at your hotels because it's a quality brand, but this place is more like a Quality Inn. The rooms are fine, but, again, the better Hilton's have step in showers, which is why I usually stay there. But not this one... Oh, well- thanks for opening my eyes- and my Marriott Loyalty account. I expected a lot more when I arrived. The reservation showed valet parking, but no explanation. I parked, hoping I was in the correct place to check in. No one came to greet me. The consider was very helpful in editing my stay since I had to stay an extra night. However, finding my room was a struggle. The layout is unconventional. My room would be perfect if more than one outlet worked. The desk lamp did not work, so I had to work from the bed side table lighting. None of the usb ports worked except for the alarm clock. I had to move the coffee/tea station to the only outlet that worked. The bathroom mirror was very ill-lighted. It was very difficult to see. Surprisingly, the TV worked with the remote. That is the only positive I have for this room. I didn't even get a coffee and tea refresh for the day. It seems housekeeping doesn't enter unless redid you spend more than one night. The area around this hotel is really sketchy. I felt very unsafe outside the building even during the daytime. The only parking options were valet or park yourself on the street and pay for a meter. Even the valet option seemed bad because I didn't know where my car was parked or if it could be broken into easily as the area behind the hotel looks very broken down. The room we were given reeked of smoke and the view was of a back alley with garbage on the street. When we got to the room the digital key did not work and we had to ask the maintenance guy to let us in. The ice machine on the floor was broken and they did not have a guest laundry room. Also If you are looking to eat dinner in the area prepare to pay around $15 a person. Breakfast is not included. read more

I mistakenly left my wallet with 360 dollars cash in my room on the day I checked out, I work for a touring country artist and didn't realize I had left my wallet till the next day. I called three times through out the day to have them place the wallet to which I was told it wasn't found. It took almost a week to "find" and when they did, all my cash was gone. I left my wallet in my room so I'm guessing it was the cleaning lady who asked me if I was checking out when I left my room. I was told I would not be compensated even though it was clearly someone who worked there that took the cash. Stay away from this location,. Lobby and main area have been remodeled and are beautiful! The rooms have dirty carpet...no bueno! The pool was closed due to COVID-19, which is unfortunate because it looked like a beautiful space! My biggest complaint was they put us in a room on the side of the pool/courtyard. This would be fine, however a party had rented this space and was having a graduation party. All. Night. Long. When I called to check on this at 11PM, the front desk couldn't tell me when the party would end and offered to move my room. At this point we were unpacked and in bed and I'm traveling with my handicapped mother. It's no easy feat to move a healthy person, let alone someone with MS that can not walk. We couldn't sleep a wink. I called again after midnight as their were children running and screaming and people partying which sounded right out our window. The front desk couldn't do anything. I think the party stopped around 2AM. Very disappointed, especially being owned by Hilton. Really should consider not putting people in rooms that close if there is a party reserved. The room was clean. The staff was very friendly. There were plenty of pillows and towels. The water in the shower was amazingly hot. My only complaint is that the bed wasn't comfortable for me. This is purely personal preference and nothing they could have done differently aside from different bed setups. I know it's a hotel but as someone who travels for a living, I've stayed in hundreds of hotels and this was one of the most uncomfortable nights of sleep I have ever had. It's not completely awful. However, the best experience of the entire stay was the heavenly warm chocolate chip cookie they gave me when I came in. That being said, parking on the street was required unless you wanted to pay for vallet. Not a HUGE issue. Check-in was relatively smooth and I get up to the room and it looked nice. However, there was no microwave or desk chair which I thought was weird for the price. Then the only major issue was the lack of hot water. Not a horrible stay, but not worth the price. read more

Place was extremely clean HOWEVER don't expect the Hilton soft sheets-they were rough and well over used. The biggest disappointment was the only restaurant in the place-Bootleggers AWFUL, OVERPRICED AND SHORT ON STAFF. When you order something off the menu you expect the dish to come with the ingredients listed. Not just a piece of chicken grilled with a tad bit of teriyaki sauce drizzled on it for the exceptional price of $26 oooo it came with 2 pieces of asparagus too . . Recently Renovated Good location near the river and recently renovated with complimentary valet parking. Checkin and checkout simple and easy. Clerk was courteous and friendly. Atmosphere modern. Room was ready and as requested in advance and clean. Really liked the walk in shower. Bed very comfortable. Nice restaurant within easy walking distance. WiFi worked satisfactorily although not secure. For breakfast we chose the buffet which had a decent variety. No issues and very relaxing night. Would stay here again. read more

Heard complaining of Management not ordering enough supplies for bedding and wash cloths,and found blood on the comforter that had been flipped! and looked in linen closet door was a jar very unorganized bedding and towels throw in the floors of the linen closet hallway! read more

I wish I could give zero stars. I can't see how people who are used to Hilton and Double Tree standards are ok with this place. The water pressure was zero and the restaurant/bar closed 10 minutes early in a Friday... which was 9:20 PM! I'll be complaining to the Hilton corporate. Also no free parking for Diamond. The issue started from the very beginning when she couldn't find our reservation. She couldn't find it in the computer and when we offered the confirmation number she wanted no prt of it. Stood there for 10 minutes and finally she decided to try the confirmation number and it popped right up. We got upstairs and we right off heard cleaning staff complaining about their jobs and how busy they would be since people were checking in already this weekend. We got into the room and it hadn't been dusted for a while. There were marks on the walls and the curtains were broken. The bed sheets were stained. The toilet was hard to flush and the bathtub looked dirty. We didn't have toilet paper and had to ask the cleaning ladies for some and they looked disgusted. The hotel was overall fairly dirty for something that had been newly remodeled within the last few years. read more

We stayed a couple of years ago, when they were going through the remodeling, I must say that I am quite impressed. Everything is just top notch. We have stayed in quite a few hotels in the area when visiting, the staff here is by far the friendliest I have encountered. We won't be staying anywhere else in the future. read more

Hilton Diamond member here, I've stayed in a lot of Hilton properties, parking situation is not desirable but tolerable. Very friendly staff. The coolest is the "bootleggers" restaurant/bar. It's the only property I've been too that plays good rock music! I will be back here a lot! read more

Wow, nice place to stay! Renovated. Everything is clean and new. My room faced the river. Nice view Although it was cloudy and rainy. The room was comfy and warm on this cold wet day. The staff including Rose at the check in was wonderful, informative, super friendly. They even text you to make sure your room is ok. I got chocolate chip cookies and water on check in. Will definitely come again when I have a chance. I didnt have time to check the gym or pool. read more

Disappointed. Here 3 days for a boxing tournament. The bathrooms available in the event area and lobby are barely in working order. The doors do not lock, out of toilet paper, multiple sinks not working, out of soap, out of paper towels, and one day one of them was "closed for cleaning" all day. If you're expecting hundreds of people, you should have working bathrooms. read more

This is a newly renovated Hotel and they have done a wonderful job with the beautification. The staff is polite & friendly. I'm at the point level I got free water & warm cookies @ check-in. The smell wonderful, especially to my diabetic self. The room i stayed in was comfortable and clean. That's 98% of a hotel stay but there is something about this visit that cracks me up now that its behind me of course. The first thing i wanted after my long drive was a cup of coffee. So i started up the machine in my room while i was unpacking. Could not for the life of me figure out where to put the coffee pod. The gentleman that came to my rescue. was new & couldn't figure it out either. We take the coffee pot down to the lobby to see if they could figure it out. I went too because i saw a coffee set up when I checked in so I'd plan to grab a cup there. It took a few people to realize the pot was broken, so off he went to get me a new machine. Mean time at the coffee station I found its $2.50 a cup. What? But due to the circumstances. They compted me a cup. Awesome. I went over to a beautiful display of hot chocolate, Teas & decaf but no regular coffee. This started a whole different dilemma. Me & no less then 3 staff members started looking for regular coffee K-cups. The "new" guy came back with a new machine for my room and he started to help look for the k-cups too. At this point we were at least 4 staff members deep. I just gave up and was getting a cup of orange chia something tea when he came back with a cup of coffee from the kitchen. Bless his heart, so sweet. With hot coffee & hot tea in hand he walked me and my new machine back up to my room. Couldn't get on-line. Looked at everything for instructions, it suggested i call the "Careline". No number- called front desk again, they have no idea what the careline is but offered to send help. Three people came up & we finally get on. By this time. I was ready for that coffee but it was cold- no problem i'll heat it up- No microwave. Bump it. Drank the weird tea & got on line to do a little work. The new gentleman popped back up to check on me & house keeping even dropped in with extra coffee pods. Like i said earlier. The staff is very nice. We never did find the coffee pods for the coffee station @ the check-in but i did find a screw driver on the floor in the hallway on my way back from dinner. It didn't look like it had been used as a murder weapon or anything so I picked it up. The Front desk sent someone up to retrieve it. In the meantime across the road where my friend landed. She sits & laughs at me in her also beautiful, hotel room with her access to free pantry items & coffee set up 24/7. What ever. I'm taking a shower & going to bed. Thank God they invested in great towels because that beautiful sliding glass shower door is ridiculous. It only opens one way so you get wet trying to turn the water in to heat up then you get burnt when you get in trying to adjust the temp. About half way through my shower the door rolled open and slammed into the other side. Shampoo in eyes, I thought i was under attack. Would I stay here again, probably now I know its quirks. Will i check in next door tonight? Probably. Who doesn't like a free pantry? PS no complimentary breakfast:( read more

Listen, this ice storm has brought out the best and the worst in our area and I would like to say that Desire, at the front desk of the Double Tree by Hilton at Pullman has been absolutely amazing. She answered with a positive attitude around 5 a.m. this morning, was super helpful at explaining the process of checking in during this weather. I had several questions questions throughout the day and each of the 4 times I called not only was she helpful and accommodating but was very nice on top of that. How an employee is able to perform under pressure and during chaos is what can make or break a company and Double Tree has a winner in her. Also, when I informed her that my electric was back on and I no longer needed the non-refundable room for the night, she informed me that the hotel was taking it into consideration and allowing cancelations due to the situation at hand (winter ice storm from the gates of Hades) and that is very classy indeed. I've heard horror stories about other hotels not allowing refunds or cancelations as well as them losing power while customers are there and not offering compensation to their customers. The Double Tree is a good place to visit and do business and clearly an amazing place to stay should I need to in the future. read more
