Nice, updated lobby area. Easy parking in free garage right across from hotel. Location great on the Ohio River and walkable to many restaurants and coffee shops and Hollywood asinine you like to gamble. King one bed suite, bed very comfortable and blackout curtains made it cozy. Suggestions for better attention to cleaning. All the interior doors have handprints and grime from previous guests and need wiped down. Bathroom fixtures were dusty and need cleaned. Rug in living room around sofa and coffee table did not appear to have been vacuumed as there were several pieces of popcorn on rug when we arrived. Forgot to take photo. There's a small kitchen area in the suites but no paper towels, paper plates, disposable eating utensils or any items to support having microwave, fridge, sink, and eating area. That would be nice. On a Sunday morning the coffee bar in hotel was only serving coffee. No pastries or muffins available. Had to do breakfast buffet if you wanted to eat. Just wanted coffee and a muffin for quick breakfast not a sit down buffet. Overall good stay and would return again when visiting area. read more

Roadtrip to The Ark Encounter one overnight. Lawrenceburg, Ohio for May 3, 2026. Our experience was horrible in regards to bed cleanliness, bathroom cleanliness and customer care/service. When we were getting ready for bed, we turned down the King size bed in room 624, the fitted sheet was stained with a medium sized skidmark (fecal matter) showing the linen had not been washed or maybe changed. Further examination showed the stain passed through the fitted sheet down through to the mattress cover. The mattress cover itself had additional stains that resembled bed wetting with severe yellow staining on the rt side edge, with splattered brown stains on the side of the mattress cover. We did not discover the condition of the bed linen until we turned the bed down at 11:30 pm. We immediately called the front desk to report the issue. It took 2 contacts with the front desk to get sheets which did not fit the king size bed because they were queen flat sheets and no fitted sheet. She alleged there were no King fitted sheets available. The long haired redheaded young lady who brought the flat sheets was not kind or helpful when she informed us she was 5 min past her shift and she was unable to do anything more for us. We told her to please find a fitted sheet for us. She returned with a fitted sheet but when we tried to make the bed, it was a Queen size sheet!! She reluctantly went to speak with someone who might help us obtain a fitted King sheet. The next young lady who brought a fitted King sheet was even more curt and unkind. She brought the correct size fitted King sheet but had a harsh rude tone and way of handing it over. I tried to show her the condition of the bed but refused to come in and see it stating she was not allowed to come into the room, even though the other young lady had come in when I wanted to show her the foul condition of the shower and bathroom floor; red mold throughout the lower tile and edge of the shower pan. The bathroom floor had not been vaccumed or swept before we occupied the room The two young ladies we dealt with, did not treat us with kindness nor in a professional manner... it was as if we were a bother. We took pictures of the soiled bedding and will email a letter to corporate when I find the address. I do want to give kudos to the check in clerk, Venus, who was friendly and professional. Manager Ashlyn seemed genuinely concerned about our horrid experience. Ashlyn was kind and professional. The welcome complimentary Chocolate Chip cookies were super delicious and a surprise to us at check in. I cannot recommend this hotel and I hope this experience is an anomaly. Because of the overnight employees' lack of interest to resolve the issue at the time it was discovered... I will not return... Oh... and the sheets appeared to be so old that the weave was shred in several areas. There was no microwave or refrigerator. We found out later we could have separately rented them had we asked for them. But they should have given us the option. We were advised that only suites were equipped with a microwave and refrigerator. read more

Our family guests found NO towels in rooms upon arrival. After the first day, they told our family guests to leave their room and they would clean the room and replace the used towels. Our family members finally had to leave their bags of garbage in the hall because no one serviced their suite!!! When they returned after the hour, nothing had been cleaned in the hotel and NO still no fresh towels!!! For $900 you should get a least daily room service and fresh towels!!! My wife called to complain and got excuses! "We are just too busy!" "We don't have enough help!" No change, just excuses!!! For the cost our family members felt they had been abused!!! Hilton needs to clean up their act or get out of the hotel business!!! read more

Wow! I was highly impressed by this Doubletree! I haven't stayed at this Hilton brand in YEARS, but this one way exceeded my expectations in every way! Pros: -Great staff - very friendly and helpful! Best hotel service I've received in a long time. -beautiful facility - felt more like a 4star hotel than a 3! -large, clean rooms (and comfortable beds!) -modern decor -I'll say it again - the whole facility was incredibly clean! Cons: -I hate to even list a con, but my only one would be for the hotel to have opened the bar! It's so strange it wasn't open on a Saturday night! -I wish the Starbucks had more morning pastry options Hilton - please reward your amazing staff at this hotel, especially the service staff! I had stayed at this hotel 2 years ago, and wasn't really happy with my stay, but thought part of the problem could've been related to the pandemic and all the issues it created. So I decided to give them a shot on this Labor Day weekend. Started off questionable on Saturday afternoon, checked in and found an empty toilet paper roll, an 2 partially used soap bars in the bathroom. Not a huge deal, but lack of attention. Come Saturday evening, and about 9PM, we hear music coming from outside, it's louder than the TV, and we were on the 7th floor. About 10pm, I called down to the front desk to ask about the music and how long it would continue - the person who answered said that they were hosting a wedding reception in the ballroom, and the music would be playing until 11:30. I asked if there was something we could do, as we were needing to be up to continue our travels early in the morning. The response: "Sir, we hold events occasionally" and they hung up the phone. There are inexpensive hotels that will offer to change your rooms to a quieter area, but not Double Tree? I can't see coming back to this hotel under ANY circumstances read more

Stayed here during my recent work trip and the hotel is rather nice for the small quaint city of location. We were greeted promptly upon check in. The hotel is clean and does have a restaurant, bar and Starbucks. They offer you a warm cookie upon checking in and I highly recommend taking it. It's so worth it!! Thank me later haha. My only complaint is that despite the hotel being Hilton, there are no refrigerators in the room -- to get one you have to request it and pay $10! What!? All other Hilton locations I've been to before have had refrigerators so was surprised with this one. The staff was super friendly and they even had umbrellas that we could borrow to make it to the River Watch restaurant down the hill when it was raining. read more

I have stayed at this location several times and have never been disappointed. The rooms are always clean and well supplied. The hotel is located right along the Ohio River. You can choose city view or river view when booking. They also offer free warm chocolate chip cookies 24 hours a day!! The staff has always been friendly and welcoming. The hotel is located on the same street as the beautiful and quaint old town which is gun to walk around or walk along the river. There are several good restaurants within walking distance. Lawrenceburger was especially good. There is also a casino within walking distance if you like gambling or there is also a free shuttle to the casino which picks up right outside the hotel. I last stayed here right before the pandemic and I recently realized I had never left a review. read more

I am a Hilton Gold member and travel extensively always booking Hilton properties. This is the poorest service Hotel of all of the Hilton's I have stayed at. I COULD SIGHT SEVERAL PROBLEMS BUT IT IS ALL ABOUT THEIR MANAGEMENT AND PEOPLE. Please see my photo below. This is just an example. This card is in your room and at the front desk, but there is NO way to leave your feedback. No form to write on or box to put suggestions in etc. With my problems, the people blamed each other for not giving me service and they took NO responsibility. Terra was the manager on duty and she could not manage my complaints. She just want to give me some free things to compensate for their errors rather than addressing the issues. The people here need to be customer oriented and own problems to service their customers like the other Hilton's I have stayed at. More than one Hilton seem to recognize me when I check in and do everything they can to make my stay a great experience. Even in properties that are a little run down, the staff have made the difference in my stay! I would recommend you choose another Hilton property in the area. Just not our kind of hotel. This seemed more business class. We stayed here on a family trip. No microwave no refrigerator. They have a coffee maker in the room. My husband is a coffee drinker. I am not. However, he said it was so bad and he couldn't even drink it and had to throw it away. He went downstairs to the buffet to get a cup for four dollars. They do have a restaurant but you have to go down and pay $17.50 for breakfast. They have signs posted that you're not allowed to bring food in from outside. The pictures made it look really nice but it's really kind of crammed at the end of downtown. Parking is in a public lot across the street. For $385 for two nights we expected better. We have stayed in much nicer hotels for less $$ and a complimentary breakfast! We will not stay here again. Yes, the cookie at check in was very good, but can't make up for all we felt was lacking. I gave it 3 stars because it is clean and has a decent gym and other dining options. Also, the shower was nice. May be good for a business trip. read more

A very good hotel. Clean, well designed and the rooms are very nice. I used the gym and it had some great free weights (thank you Jesus!), and typical treadmills and other standard gym equipment. My only gripe would be the "entertainment" that performed a few floors down at the bar on the outside patio. They played well into the evening and we had a very early wake up time (5-6am) and not being able to drown out their noise was a bit of a bummer. Parking is free and across the street in the garage. It was nice to have our car nearby and not have to deal with meters, valets, and all that. Other than the late night entertainment, I would happily stay there again for sure. The location is nice and the front desk workers were friendly as well. read more

This hotel was a very nice find. We had a pretty late check in, and the front desk staff was more than pleasant and helpful. She provided us will any information we sought, as well as complimentary warmed cookies. Our room was pretty standard, nothing special. We had a double queen, as it was the cheaper option during booking. The hotel also has a restaurant/ bar inside. We were not able to check it out, but it looked very nice. I enjoyed the comfy beds and had plenty of pillows. My only draw back is that there were a lot of stands of hairs on the bathroom floor. Otherwise, it was clean. We booked a king room for my wife and I. The bathroom had one towel set. No plastic drink ware and only the remaining tiny bit of toilet paper on the roll. It was the ONLY one in the room. We were lucky there was a housekeeper on the floor for cups and towels. We had to call the desk later when we used the toilet paper and we're about to run out. Being tired from a long drive and a snowstorm at its early stages, we decide to eat at the grill. My wife wanted a burger. The waitress said the cook was off but pre made them for the evening. We should have been tipped off at that point and left. So she got the $12 burger, fresh from warming in the microwave, no fries, no sides. I had a pre made salad. It was ok. Half way through the salad I was asked if I wanted something to drink. So this is it after 5 hours here. Tomorrow at checkout, if there's an update, I'll post more. read more

The venue is 2 years old as of 2017 and boy do they have a great place. Sitting by the Ohio River you get a nice view of a small river town that is growing by leaps and bounds. The hotel is clean. Staff is friendly and the venue itself is spacious and fits all needs. I suggest if you get a chance to visit that you do. The community is clean and friendly. read more

They have bikes just outside the hotel at an affordable rate of $2 an hour. What we were most impressed with was Monica at the front desk. If you expect to get a room cleaned daily or fresh towels daily, you had better ask for it! When we checked in we were not told that you have to REQUEST housekeeping. After being out all day found the room had not been cleaned, the trash had not been emptied, and we had no fresh towels. I called down to the front desk and informed them we had dirty rooms. The individual said you had to request it when you checked in. This was the same person who checked us in the previous day. I said why weren't we informed of this policy when we checked in or at least have a notice somewhere in our rooms. No answer. Plus, the food options were pathetic. As for the room, it is large - but there was no refrigerator or microwave. A Hampton Inn or any Marriott property would have been a better choice. I could count on Double Tree in the past, but if this is the way they go now, I won't stay in another one again. For the cost of this hotel I would stay somewhere else the next time. read more

Dirty room!! Everything wiped down with a dirty rag leaving huge dirty streaks everywhere! Pubic hair around glass bottom in shower and not clean, pee dried on front of toilet and dried spilled coffee all over coffee maker. Room was big, staff was very friendly but room was very dirty. Take a look around the corners and around the toilet and shower, hope yours is cleaner than ours. They did comp us a breakfast but it was not good at all but again staff was very friendly. We stayed here for a weekend get away to go to the casino etc. We went down to the hotel bar about 5:15pm and sat down.. and waited for over 5 mins for anyone to show up. Food was good. Then 2nd night we were there, there was something going on in the event center and the room next to us was very drunk &loud til like 6am. We called down to the front desk and got no answer. We call 4 times to the front desk for numerous things and never got the phone picked up. Also, I wouldn't advertise city view when all you can see is the top of a roof. I was jumping with excitement and Oohing in wonder at the newness and modern feel when this hotel opened a couple of months ago, but after two visits may not be back... Doubletree is not run as Hilton property should be. The staff is exceedingly nice, but the management has not set the right processes in place. On the first visit we used the room service order card... Only to find it still on our door in the morning. 45 minutes of ordering, apologies and general confusion later we got our order. We are on a ski schedule, timing in the morning costs you hours on the slopes. The next morning we lingered in bed with anticipation and a general thought at the back of our minds : "Surely, after messing it up once, the room service will be on it!" Well, while we were lingering in bed, the card was lingering on our door... Over an hour of ordering and waiting and dealing with hungry cranky kids, the effect of sleeping in a comfy new beds evaporated... Visit two - we show up at 7:30 pm excited to change quickly and catch some late night skiing at the Perfect North. Well, at 7:30 the room is still dirty and not ready! Explanation - a large event. But this is what this hotel and conference center were built for! Again, staff deals with these in a very friendly and apologetic manner. It is the management and Hilton brand management who should jump on this quickly, before excited customers turn into grumpy ones taking other alternatives. read more

On November 6th/7th my fiancé and I stayed here and were in the room for 45 minutes when she noticed a bed bug crawling on my arm. We obviously asked to switch rooms but since they were full we were forced to take a taxi home at 4:30am. When she called to ask if they would reimburse us for the $106 taxi the manager was extremely rude and aggressive. He said that the room should not have been reimbursed in the first place and they are not responsible for our taxi. We will never return here and anyone looking for a wedding or conference venue, or just needing a place to stay, should look somewhere else. read more

Spent the weekend here for a dart tournament my company was running. I have to say this facility is amazing. Everything from the location, to the rooms, to the event center. Top notch all the way around. The rooms are very nice with more than enough space. HUGE bathrooms with walk in showers. And if you get a room on the river side you wont be disappointed with the view. The Levee restaurant that is downstairs has a wonderful menu from wings to steaks. The event center was the perfect size for our needs and made our tournament even better. As a bonus... the little town of Lawrenceburg that is just outside of the doubletree has plenty of shops and bars to visit. I would most certainly return and stay. This hotel is amazing!! We decided to give it a try as an option rather than staying at Hollywood Casino. We stayed on a Friday night at an introductory price of $89. To stay at Hollywood would've cost us close to $300. The rooms at the Doubletree Hilton were so clean and quiet. The bed was nice and comfortable. We slept like a baby. There were no hallway noise which you get a lot of the time at Hollywood. You also have a nice spacious room and a spacious bathroom. Flat screen tv, hairdryer, ironing board and a safe hidden in the dresser cabinetry for your casino windfall. The shower was nice to wake up to. If you have little ones that need a bath make sure you ask before making reservations. Our room had just the spacious shower. We had the river view and it was nice to wake up to that. There's a restaurant on the river although it's seasonal I'm sure. The hotel is attached to the areas convention center and that room is more than sufficient for a huge conference. There's computers with wifi in the lobby area along with a bar and 150ish capacity restaurant. There's a small workout room that has 4 treadmills, 3 ellipticals 1 sitting bike machine, lots of free weights of all pounds, bosu ball and a couple other pieces of equipment. All machines have their own displays for your entertainment pleasure and there are two flat screen televisions in there as well. There's a commissary area that you can buy snacks etc. There's also a shuttle that you can take to the casino although we didn't. We were told this when we reserved the room. The casino is less than five minutes away by car. You could also walk there, but I'm not sure if walking through the neighborhood at night would be wise unless you're with a group. There's also a trail that takes you by the hotel and casino that you could walk. Maybe it's an actual Boardwalk. But again safety should be paramount. The hotel is located on Walnut street which you don't know because there's no signage as of the writing of this review. As you're headed to Hollywood casino don't turn to go into the casino area, but instead go through that light until the second light then turn left. That's Walnut Street. It's an easy find though because the building can be seen from the casino and from the area. Parking is in the parking garage across the road which is well lit. The hotel will validate your parking regardless of the number of times you come and go. We didn't take advantage of the room service or their bar and grill, but it seemed like the prices were hotel appropriate. Dinner prices were a bit steep. But in comparison to eating at Hollywood they seem comparable. While I like Hollywood when the rooms are free, this hotel beats Hollywood for the price. Even after the introductory price, we will still pay about $120 on the weekend barring any big event in the area. HiltonHonors points can be used and earned. read more

This is the first time I stayed here. I entered through what appeared to be the main door, and was immediately confused. In front of me were large empty conference rooms. To my left were escalators. I eventually noticed a rather inconspicuous sign indicating the the lobby was upstairs. I did not relish the idea of dragging my luggage up an escalator, as my sense of balance isn't exactly spot on. I had left my things in the car, intending to bring them in after check in, and hoped for a handy elevator. Check in procedure was friendly and efficient. The staff member explained that I would have to park in the garage across the street, and that the hotel will validate parking. The cookie was a nice touch. The whole place is non smoking--another plus for me. I was now faced with two equally unappetizing choices: park first and carry my stuff through the parking garage, or bring my things up to the seventh floor, then come back out and park. I chose the first, hoping to get to my room more quickly. Fortunately I found a parking space in the first floor. The garage is well lit, but big garages still spook me out a bit. I hurried across the street and chose the second entrance to the hotel by the restaurant, hoping for an elevator. I tried two elevators, but neither went to the seventh floor. After much casting about, I found the escalator by the main entrance and clumsily managed to get to the top. Once there, finding the elevators that the desk clerk indicated were "just around the corner" was a bit of a challenge. It appeared that I was going into the restaurant at first, but I finally found the elevator, and thank God it went to the seventh floor. The room was lovely. Very clean, obviously new. As a seasoned traveler, I checked the beds for signs of bedbugs--they have shown up in some very nice hotels these days. The beds are immaculate, mattresses completely wrapped in a protective cover that zips up. The bathroom -- oh, boy, that captured my heart. The shower was huge, and there was no tub to clamber across. Double glass doors, a fabulous shower head, and luxurious towels. It included a hair dryer, makeup mirror and a selection of nice soaps, shampoo and lotion--good quality stuff. I had a river view room, which seemed nice until I discovered that the drapes would not close. There are sheers that go all the way across, but the heavier drapes on either side are not made to close. It took awhile for me to find the privacy curtains **behind** the sheers. I wonder how many people miss that. I'm glad I figured it out; I had arranged for a late checkout after a long day and didn't want the sun to wake me up. Other stuff: the Internet was easy to connect, and the signal seemed strong and consistent. The desk chair was comfortable and just the right height. Overall, a great place. I'd give it five stars, except for the aggravation with parking and the elevators. It may seem like a small thing, but when you're traveling alone, schlepping all of your stuff, and especially tired after a 12 hour day, it can be discouraging. read more

Had to cancel a November 6, 2021 reservation and the cancellation was requested August 22, 2021. Cancellation was due to a medical procedure that was occuring that weekend. Hilton cancelled my room but told me that I was not allowed a refund due to their prepaid policy. My advice, use a Marriott or other hotel chain. Bring ear plugs!!! Actually, this would have been 5 stars if they warned me about the train and provided ear plugs at check in. The train blew that horn all night long and for long periods of time. The rooms are typical hotel rooms, bathrooms are large and mine had a large shower. The bar/diner was clean. $14 for a burger and two sides is average for a hotel meal. The area feels safe and the streets are nicely decorated. Overall the place was clean and friendly. Still, seriously, provide ear plugs and a warning! read more

I never write reviews but after arriving home from a fabulous visit to the tri-state area (via Ohio,Kentucky, and Indiana) and staying in this wonderful establishment, I simply must share the experience. First of all, the hotel is nestled in a quaint little town with wonderful views of the Ohio river. The neighboring villagers were very approachable and accommodating to visitors (namely myself and my family). Food within the community is amazing...try the pizza parlor a block's distance from the hotel. The most important detail above all is the hospitality within the hotel itself, specifically - Monica, who from the very onset of room registration greeted us with warmth and kindness. She was a wealth of resourcefulness. Additionally, Mary Jane, openly welcomed us with comforting conversations making us feel right at home. Yes, is place is a hidden gem possibly worth a goldmine but the staff are truly the diamonds in rough. You simply must visit this place. I assure you that your stay will most enjoyable. read more

Very impressive building and the room was nice as well. We stayed two nights without any problems. The room we were in didn't have a tub or a refrigerator but plenty of space for them. The view of the river if you happen to get it is really nice and the view of the town isn't terrible. We walked around the surrounding area a little but there is t much to do or see at all. Also there are a few different dining options in the hotel, each of which were fairly expensive. The walk along the river and the monument next to the hotel were very nice as well. read more

The accommodations are nice. Comfortable bed, very big bathroom and shower. The main problem is check-in is 4 and we arrived at 6:30 and they had no rooms available. We had been skiing all day so just wanted to get to our room, shower, and get to dinner, but we had to wait. Finally our room was ready and when we got there it smelled strongly of cleaning supplies since it had just been cleaned. Check-out is 11am and they say they are fully booked every Saturday so I'm not sure why our room wasn't ready on time. We were offered nothing to make up for this. When you get in the hotel you have to go up stairs to the reception desk. Elevators were a little difficult to find and slow but everything was clean and nice. Walls must be thin though, we could hear the conversation the couple next door were having even though they seemed to be speaking in normal voices so you can imagine anyone being just a little loud you could really hear. If our room had been ready on time or they had seemed to care that it wasn't they would have earned a 3 or maybe 4 star review from me. read more

Great hotel right on the water. It really fits the ambience of the downtown area, although I wish downtown Lawrenceburg would recognize this tourism opportunity and create more businesses within walking distance. I wish that our room had a fridge. We are Hilton Honors Club members and stayed in a Riverview room and I guess I just assumed it would have a fridge. Made it hard to bring back any leftovers, prepare for any drinks for the weekend (include a growler from the local breweries). Overall the room was really nice and clean. The hotel was pretty quiet. I LOVED the shower. It was roomy, very warm and clean and I loved the shower head. I wish there was a fan in the bathroom to ventilate the steam better. The sensored lights are a great idea, but the ones in our room didn't work and in fact, one kept flashing off and on all night long. Thankfully when I closed my eyes I couldn't see it. The stairs are very steep when you come in, so take the elevator. I also wish the parking garage was attached. It was raining the whole weekend we were there and it was annoying to have to carry my luggage out in the rain and across the street. Nice location and hotel. The restaurant had pretty good food also. My complaint is there was no laundry room nor laundering services. When I travel I need to do laundry, a laundry room should be standard in a hotel. read more
