I went in and got services and after the whole ordeal was over I was charged a lot more than expected and in fact I was charged $700 over the SF CA Price for the same service ( Meaning I was Gouged being i am not from OK) so I did not find this out until after and thinking i was getting work I thought i needed, I actually did not. I went to a shop 2 x after this location and 1 x before and each of the 3 shops proved there were no codes. This means I was lied to, and I got unnecessary work done. I reported this to the AAA and to the BAR and I will also attach the proof of the over charge from Oklahoma compared to the CA estimate. Although a Service was done with Smiles, I was still pretty much overcharged, paying $1093.00 plus some change.

Haines Wrecker (excellent service, very friendly and helpful) towed car to next town over to Larry's. This was on a weekend. We rent3ed a car and kept going, called Larry Mon am. He looked at it and found the problem (right front drive shaft), ordered part and had it fixed by the time we drove back through Elk City on our way back home. Never met him, handled everything over the phone - car was fixed perfectly, for a reasonable price, and he made sure it was ready for us. Outstanding service and we never even met (picked up the car late at night).

I received the biggest bolt in my tire. Being in the middle of nowhere, I knew I'd have to drive on…read moreit to have it repaired. I called the day before to make sure they had the tire size I needed, then I limped my car the 15 miles to the shop. When I arrived, I was told it would be an hour. No biggie, so I sat and waited for it. The front lady was super nice and personable, and the shop was small but very clean and organized. I was honestly terrified it was going to cost a fortune, but thankfully they are extremely reasonable on their pricing. I figured I would need a new tire (I was right), and the cost was very competitive. It took almost 2 hours in reality, but I was pretty happy with the experience. My one complaint was that the tire pressure wasn't checked on my car. I guess I'm spoiled with tire shops also making sure the other tires are in good condition. I had another tire that was about 4 pounds lower than it should be, but they didn't take care of it when it was in. I do understand they were busy, but I figured they would check. All in all, I'd visit them again for a new tire, especially for an emergency such as this.

Avoid EC Auto Repair in Elk City, OK. We limped in with a…read moreblown turbo and were met with confusion, severe incompetence, and shady pricing. The issue was obvious, yet staff struggled to diagnose it, couldn't handle basic information, and entered our diesel truck as a gas V10--then wondered why parts didn't match. We were quoted $2,800 with no clear itemization. When we supplied our own part, labor mysteriously jumped from $180/hr to $248/hr. They also tried to tack on $300 for an oil change, another $300 for unnecessary fuel treatment, and a questionable $98 "shop fee" they falsely claimed was required by Oklahoma law. The promised loaner vehicle suddenly turned into a rental once we pushed back on pricing. At that point, we decided to do the repair ourselves--it took about 12 bolts and basic tools. To top it off, the owner became aggressive, attacking me while trying to get my keys and called police while we were finishing the job. The officer was professional, but it says a lot when police are a regular presence there. Bottom line: Disorganized, dishonest, and hostile. This shop appears to take advantage of out-of-town customers. Save yourself the headache and go anywhere else. Every local we talked to said to steer clear of this over priced and shady place.
