Premiums were a little high but not outrageous, then I had to test their responsiveness to my changing requirements. In requesting an estimate of my renewal fees for the next coverage period (other activities would not give me time to review the renewal if the new policy arrived 30 days ahead of the renewal date which was the default schedule) I became uncomfortable with the agency's ability to perform an insurance agency's business functions with any efficiency. It took the company several days to even locate my existing policy; then, in spite of my request to accelerate the renewal policy ahead of the 30 day default no information was available a full week after the default renewal notification date. In case of an emergency claim which might have to be made from a distance, I questioned whether the agency could be counted on to respond effectively. Given this experience, I personally found it prudent to switch my coverage to an agency which could give me a better price, and I would hope, better service. Sargent Tyler and West did not do anything else wrong or improper in connection with my policy, and the data delay could have been the fault of another company so that I will not drop the rating all the way to 1 star, but their lack of concern with and communication about my seemingly reasonable priorities made the switch seem necessary and worth recounting in a review.
