Doughbird is a small establishment that specializes in coffee, donuts, and even fried chicken sandwiches. We came here early in the morning so I only got to try the donuts. There were so many to choose from! They had many unique flavors and vegan options too. We got the classic glazed donut and I think a cinnamon french toast donut. They were so soft, fluffy, and fresh. We enjoyed the texture of the donuts, which was almost addictive. I preferred the classic glazed because the cinnamon french toast was on the sweeter side. I have only been to Moab a couple of times so I wasn't too familiar with Doughbird. However, they recently ranked super high on a top chicken restaurant list. I was excited to give them a go! DoughBird looks like it is made out of a backsplash. I love it. It is unique and stands out tremendously on Main Street in Moab. Since it is right on Main Street, parking can be a bit tricky. You either get lucky and parallel park right in front, or you have to park a little further away and walk. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a wide assortment of doughnuts. They had so many options to choose from! They were colorful and there were so many different flavors available! Unfortunately, I was here to try their chicken sandwich so I didn't end up trying any of their doughnuts. I ordered their chicken sandwich with the mild sauce and it came with a side of fries. It had pickles, a slaw, and a brioche bun. It didn't take too long for the chicken sandwich to come out. They don't really have anywhere inside to sit so pretty much everything is a to-go order. They have some seating off to the side of the building but that is weather permitting. If I am being 100% honest, the chicken patty was a bit thick for my liking. This is entirely personal preference, but I definitely enjoy more of a thin sandwich with breading. I think it is a ratio thing. The slaw was a bit overpowering with the flavor of the sandwich but the bun was absolutely delicious. For me, the star of the show was the waffle fries. They were the perfect amount of crunch and tasted so good. They paired wonderfully with the sauce that was given on the side. Some of the best fried chicken and donuts ever. Coming from the southeast, I've had a lot of great fried chicken in my life, but Doughbird competes against some of the best! Their donut selection is mouthwatering - I got the oreo cheesecake and oh my goodness. So good. My husband and I split the fried chicken sandwich w/ mild spice - and we didn't know it would come with waffle fries, but it did, and we were overjoyed. The waffle fries shouldn't be overlooked - they were dang good, but the chicken of course was the star of the show, packed between 2 sweet, donut-like buns and fried to perfection. Just yum. Very unique place serving both deliciously perfect doughnuts and massive flaky chicken sandwiches! We got two doughnuts, chicken sandwiches, and a coffee to go and everything was delicious. The chicken sandwiches were huge! And the waffle fries were delightful too. Everyone working there was pleasant and helpful. Which usually means the frying fat was not quite at the right temperature. I expected a thin fried crispy but not greasy exterior and a pillowy interior. Of all of the eateries we wanted to try while on our trip out west my husband and I were the most excited to try Doughbird. For many months we were excited to try it but then we learned it would be closed all three days (Tues. through Thurs.) we were in Moab so we had to put our excitement aside. But, then, as it turns out Doughbird was in fact open the last day (a Thursday) we were in town even though their website says they were closed. Hurray! The moral of the story is that their days open change and we found the sign on the door to be most reliable. Anyway, we arrived at Doughbird promptly at the opening time of 7am. I was wondering if the experience would live up to the hype and it did! The employees were very friendly and the donut cases were full. Struggling with indecision we got five donuts - glazed, chocolate glaze, pumpkin latte (I think), apple cider and a snickerdoodle crodough (a cross between a croissant and doughnut). The donuts were all good but I particularly enjoyed the crodough. It has thin layers with all a bit of a chew and crunch that made for a very delightful bite. The flavor was good but the texture was heavenly. Unfortunately we were departing Moab about lunch time so we didn't have a chance to try the chicken sandwiches but I hear they are really good. This place can't be passed up on your trip to Moab! I got the apple fritter and their salted caramel crodough. I liked both, but I like the apple fritter the most because of their chunks of apples inside. Their donuts are fresh and crunchy! They also have vegan donuts! Which I want to try on my next visit. I was lucky enough to stumble upon this place when trying to find what was good in MOAB. This place happens to be right next to where we were staying!!!! We came on Sunday and they were ready for . One downside of my experience was that I was following their Instagram to see the current menu and had an idea of what to order already, but because it was Halloween, they changed it up a little and Soo it didn't have all the ones I wanted. It was soft, it wasn't too sweet it doesn't feel heavy. Pecan praline torte and spiced apple old fashioned - they got the texture down pretty well. The perfect doughnut and coffee spot in Moab! They serve fried chicken too, which I would definitely have gotten had it not been 9 am! I snagged six, don't judge. I'm the kind of person that goes feral with a box of doughnuts to myself. I'll try one bite of this one, one bite of that one, a lick of frosting off another, and go back for seconds on all of them later. The doughnuts here were creative, fluffy, and of course, delicious. My favorite was the maple mascarpone cheesecake. Yeah, you heard that right. Moab, UT is lucky to have a place like this. The donuts here are AMAZING! They have a wide variety of unique flavors and combinations. This is not your average donut shop. They also serve up a mean hot chicken sando. The wife and I shared a hot chicken sando and a salted caramel cronut (resembles a doughnut and is made from croissant-like dough filled). The chicken sandwich was out of this world. The perfect amount of crunch, spice, juiciness, and heat. It was served on a bun that resembled a glazed donut, but without the glaze. Genius! The waffle fries it came with had a nice cajun seasoning on it. I enjoyed every bite. Drooling just thinking about it. Don't get me started with the salted caramel cronut. It was like two of my favorite breakfast pastries had a baby. Sweet and salty? Say less. They only serve chicken dishes after 11 and I love fried chicken sandwiches. I'm glad their sandwiches are crispy and juicy, I ordered hot and it was definitely making me sweat but tasted great. Can't go wrong with crispy waffle cut fries. My wife was excited all the different variations of donuts they had. She liked the fruity pebble donut and I enjoyed the chocolate churro cronut. When picking heat level, read the types of peppers used at each level -- if you can't eat that pepper irl, don't get that level heat. I had level #5 and it had a good kick, just a bit more than I could handle. Next time, I would ask for extra extra Doughbirds sauce. Helps balance the heat, and tastes great. Only downside? What a cute little joint! Got here a little early for the park and couldn't check in, so we decided to have an early lunch. Scrolling through Yelp, this one stood out the most! It's centered in the main town, so street parking. Wish this place had an indoor seating, but they have bench seating are outside. We like this place so much we went three times. The first time we tried the chicken sandwich. The sandwich was excellent. Just enough heat (you can choose whether you want mild or hot). And we got to donuts to wash it down with. Ha ha. The next morning prior to hiking, we got an apple fritter, salted caramel cronut, and a chocolate frosted. They were excellent. The following day after hiking, we got the chicken Platter with waffle, fries and slaw. It came with two pieces of chicken and plenty for us to share.
