An absolute gem of a restaurant in Moab. Happened to find it on Yelp! while researching breakfast options and with so many good reviews I had to try it for myself. The chicken fried steak breakfast was very tasty, with crisp potatoes seasoned just right, a perfectly cooked egg, and a delicious home made breakfast. I had a chance to meet the owner, Zinzi, and we chatted about our shared connections to Cape Town. The dining room is very nicely decorated and comfortable. I'll have to find a way to make my way back to Moab to try the South African inspired dinner menu (Thursday through Sunday); am sad that I'll miss it this trip. read more

Enjoyed a nice breakfast at the end of our trip to Moab at Hidden Cuisine! The wait for seating and our food was quite long, but there were many events going on this weekend. Our waiter was super friendly and ensured we were taken care of. I got the country fried steak, and my partner got the smoked salmon bagel. Both were great. Our family decided to try Hidden Cuisine because we were tired of the burger and diner type of food. The restaurant is spacious and had a welcoming decor. The staff was friendly and attentive. The dinner menu was enticing. The Bobotie was like a steam egg with ground meat. The South African style ribs was served in sauce and the ribs had lots of meat. Both were very tasty. We especially liked the stewed beans which had a tomato and vinegary sauce that we licked clean. Both of these dishes were a little spicy though so we were glad we ordered the La Sal Club sandwich for the kids. What a great find on the outskirts of Moab. If you come across this restaurant, don't pass by without stopping by for a bite! We were looking for a breakfast spot passing through Moab and found Hidden Cuisine on Yelp. I'm so glad we took the chance and stopped in for breakfast. It can be unassuming but don't let that throw you off. Once inside you will be impressed with a clean and appointed restaurant adorned by the native South African Flag and decor. We were greeted by our host and server Sloan. Sloan was calm, nice and welcoming! We really enjoyed his presence and recommendations of the menu. We ordered coffee and apple juice. The juice is fresh squeezed. It was green apple. So refreshing! Everything is made from scratch. For breakfast we shared the Eggs Benedict and the Avocado Toast. Both were delicious. Eggs poached perfectly and the hollandaise sauce was very light and bright. The ham was delicious. Bread thin and crispy. The potatoes were crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. The restaurant is located outside of Moab downtown but it turned out to be a true hidden gem! Every single dish we ordered was absolutely delicious and just perfect! Presentation was also beautiful and aesthetic. We also got a freshly squeezed juice and super friendly quick service! With all that the prices were very reasonable. When we left we wished we could come back for lunch and another breakfast, but sadly it wasn't possible with our trip schedule. Came really close to closing time (sorry guys) and had the spinach and artichoke cups and the fish curry. The spinach and artichoke cups were quite large (3) and the two of us could have filled up on just those alone. The fish and shrimp curry was the best seafood based curry I've ever had. Tons of tumeric, needs some salt and acidity - both easy to fix with salt and lemon. But no fishiness and great texture. Pricey no doubt but well worth it. This restaurant is located away from the Moab Main street tourist restaurants area, about four miles out. All the customers seem to be local. The Interior gave off an old diner vibe. The parking lot wss not paved. The family dropped in for lunch specifically to try the South Afican inspired foods except for me. I went with a bacon and egg scramble in crepes with home fried potatoes from the all day breakfast menu. The girls went with three different South Afican dishes. The South Afican dishes seem to inspired by Indian cooking. My plate was delicious and I ate everything. I loved the idea of scramble in crepes. The girls loved their South Afican dishes as well. They really enjoyed the curry sauces because the sauces were not as intense as the Indian curry sauces. They couldn't finish the large amount of foods and we took the leftover for dinner. We had the bacon & chicken carbonara (classic, perfectly executed pasta dish), mushroom risotto cakes (unique dish with a surprisingly earthy and delicious taste) and - the star of the show - the Cape Malay Chicken Roti (fragrant, wonderful depth of flavor, simply scrumptious!). We live in Moab and Hidden Cuisine is our number one choice for breakfast, lunch and - now - dinner. Most difficult thing about eating here is finding the restaurant. It's not on the Main Street area so you miss the long wait time to be seated. My entire family finds something on the menu that they like. Egg veggie benedict - egg was perfectly cooked over a nice soft english muffin with just the right amount of sauce. Potatoes were nice and crispy just the way I like it. Oh and the service here was excellent - another couple came later than us and apparently ordered the exact same things as us. Wow, This is such a hidden () gem. It's a little bit north of the Main Street of Moab but a great spot! When we got there we were only the second group around 11 on a Friday. It filled up pretty fast from there on. The ice coffee was amazing where the ice cubes were coffee not water melted. Was delicious and would refill itself. The benefit was filling while also being yummy. We added the avocado toast to share with our group and was done perfectly. What a find in the Utah desert! Fantastic breakfast on way out of town after two days in the national parks. We relaxed and ate on the patio in the shade of a mulberry tree. Attentive, friendly service by a young waiter who seems to know all the terrain of the national lands and tips what to see (thank you!). The entrees were exceptional and reasonably priced. We ordered grilled cheeses and cheese steaks, and MY GOODNESS, they were elevated to a level beyond comprehension. These classic meals have such a delightful twist to them.
