I can't say enough amazing things about Dr. Deam and the team he's assembled! I was referred to him by my now husband, back when we were dating and I was a recent NY transplant. It all starts with Idania who fronts the office and oversees (among many things I imagine) patient outreach/bookings and insurance/payments. She is not only professional, she is also warm, patient, and just a sweetheart all around! Dr. Deam is very thorough in his consultations, and he's always focused on the patient's best interest and on addressing their concerns/questions. One never feels rushed - he has a very calming effect. It's also clear that he's of top caliber and is highly knowledgable about dentistry and medicine at large (he and his team check for things like tongue cancer, blood pressure, etc). He's forward-thinking and has the latest technology in the office (e.g. a vibrating pain-free device to deliver anesthetic pre-filling; check out his site for other cool advances that I luckily have yet to have to use.) A quick nod to Yuliet who assists Dr. Deam in procedures - she's also super friendly and great at her job! Finally, Lily, who's their hygienist, is awesome (to follow the general theme of Dr. Deam and his staff!) She remembers patients, their concerns (for me it's tooth sensitivity, so we use topical anesthetic), and progress from the last visit. She, like the rest of the staff, seem to care first and foremost about the patient. read more

Wonderful Dr. Deam's office now has wonderful Dr. del Castillo! When I had an emergency last week, wonderful Idania arranged for Dr. del Castillo to see me that day. Dr. del Castillo reviewed the options, provided a temporary fix and then a permanent fix. He explained each step, made a new crown that fit perfectly, and called that night to make sure everything was fine. It was. Going to the dentist is never fun, and going to a new dentist can be scary, but but Dr. del Castillo has a very calming and capable presence. Dr. Deam and his team are absolutely wonderful. I have been coming to him since I was 12 years old (10 years now!) and I wouldn't change it for the world. Prior to coming to him, I had been to several other dentists. Dr. Deam was finally the one! Him and his team are very professional. The office is warming. He is so knowledgable, comforting, and gentle. I've had probably more than 10 cavities done with him and it has always been a very positive experience. Even when I was younger, I was never afraid of coming to him. I've always been prone to dentistry since I was a kid (bad genetics) so I've had my fair share of dentists all over the US. I've been living in Miami for over 6 years now and have yet to find a dentist I can say is fantastic - until a close friend of mine finally referred me to Dr. Deam! He is so thorough, timely, and he spends ALL of his appointment time focused on you and not simultaneously dealing with other patients. Dr. Deam is a perfectionist, and he will make sure whatever work he does on you is his best work. He is thorough and clear by telling you step-by-step his analysis. His office staff is patient, friendly, and efficient. The quality of work is one of the best that I have ever been to dare I say in my life. The only reason why I did not give five stars is because he charges a lot higher than most dentists - out of pocket expenses after insurance can get costly (you get what you pay for, right?) The only drawback to this dentist is that he is not in-network for any insurances. However, they do bill your insurance for you as a courtesy. Regardless, it is pretty expensive. On the other hand, I will never go to another dentist in Miami ever again! Oh my gosh!! Background: I went to an awful dentist in Miami who told me I had 11 cavities. So I went to Dr. Deam he and his wife are friends with my sister's family, so I knew I could trust his integrity. Not only did I only have 3 cavities, but the experience was great. He suggested this black string-like floss to help me floss better. He also gave me a little dental hygene lesson, and really showed me the details of my x-rays. I also didn't feel judged when I went there, like most dentists do. I really try hard to keep my teeth looking good and healthy. I even wear my retainer every day now to get them back into position. So it was nice to not be spoken down to. He filled my three cavities, and I've probably had the least post-operative pain from a dentist in at least 5 years. He even called me the next day to check up on me to see if I was experiencing any pain! His staff is also prettty wonderful. There is also free parking in the building that his office is located in - ask about that when you call to make an appointment. I will be making sure that when my insurance changes next year that I stickt to PPO so I can go out-of-network with him. Don't go anywhere else! read more

Dr. Douglas A. Deam, DMD, PA is the best dentist there is! I have had a number of negative experiences with dentists. Dr. Deam's practice is top-notch starting with free no hassle parking. The first time I visited it was to consult with Dr. Deam. His wife happened to be there that day so I did not meet Idonia with whom I had spoken with the week before. What a delight she and Idonia both are. Then there is Juliette his fabulous dental assistant. You can just tell that she loves her job the way the two of them communicate with each other and keep you included in their conversations regarding your teeth. Now, the needles. I don't sedate easily. But, the one that I received in the roof of my mouth was definitely COMPASSIONATE dentistry. No pain and no pain the next day either. Because of my special dental insurance requirements, he was able to see me for 4 straight hours. Unheard of! I needed a crown to be made ASAP and he has the machine right there in his office. No waiting. Who knew? So, if you have dental needs, call on Dr. Deam. His name should really be Dr. DREAM because it is hard to believe what he did for me. Thank you Dr. Deam. read more
