After a few sessions, I felt a world of improvement. No surgery or meds needed! My MD was impressed. Then when I was facing surgery for a different medical issue; I was recommended to get a massage pre-surgery. My surgeon stated that massage 'seems to help patients when preparing for surgeries." It must be true as I went home from recovery 1 1/2 hours ahead of schedule.

The office itself is small and intimate. I had written her prior to massage and we talked more in-depth about my migraines. I paired a full-body massage with cranio-sacral (which I had never had before). The massage room is very cozy: dimly lit with fabric hung from the ceiling (it reminded me of a cloud). Much to my surprise, despite her use of oils, I was not overpowered by smells. The massage was great - I loved the warmed socks she provides. The week after my massage I felt wonderful. I could definitely feel that the tension in my neck and shoulders had been significantly reduced, and my migraines were not quite as intense. I would highly recommend Lotus Tree if you're looking for someone who will take the time to listen to your ailments and work on them! I'm hoping to make visits here a regular occurrence.

I've never had a massage before. The reason I tried 502 Salon & Spa was because they offered 30…read moreminute sessions, and I figured if I hated it, it wouldn't last too long. Most places offer 60 and 90 minute sessions (501 also has these options, but I love the shorter ones). I put in my notes when I booked online that it was my first massage and I was nervous it would be painful. When I arrived, the front desk attendant was very kind and took me upstairs to the spa. (Note - not sure how accessible this place is - I did not notice an elevator). My masseuse was Ashley, and she was incredible. She walked me through the process knowing I was apprehensive, explained any add ons, and made me feel at ease. She is so good at what she does, and I genuinely cannot wait to go back.

This was unfortunately the most disappointing salon experience I've ever had. The reception team…read morewas lovely, the ambiance is beautiful, and the stylists are kind and professional. However, the results were consistently not what I requested. I brought in an inspiration photo and clearly stated multiple times that I did not want any red tones. The result was noticeably red/orange and looked nothing like the photo. I called the salon, and they were courteous and offered to correct it. The manager was helpful and encouraged me to return to the same stylist so she could learn from the situation. Although I was uncomfortable with that, I agreed as long as there was guidance. At the redo appointment, I again showed the inspiration photo and reiterated my concerns. Unfortunately, I left with hair that was pinkish/reddish/yellow and extremely dry -- again, not aligned with what I requested. The manager did ask if I was happy with it, but with the stylist present, I felt uncomfortable speaking up and said very little. The situation felt awkward and difficult to address in the moment. While the redo was comped, I was charged approximately $150 for a root retouch. Within just a few days, my silver growth was already visible. At this point, I am over $500 into the experience and have left each appointment feeling embarrassed rather than confident. I've decided to move on and find another salon, but I was truly disappointed by how far the final results were from what was clearly communicated.

When my concerns were brought up to the organizer, Adriana, I was met with a blank stare. Tried to follow up with her and she was not empathic and said I must have misunderstood what was being offered. The accommodations were not properly vetted (she had never been to the site beforethis retreat), were unhygienic (filthy every where from bathroom to common areas) did not have hiking trails or safe outdoor areas as advertised. The food was not what I was expecting at a "wellness" retreat, especially as I mentioned my friend was a vegetarian and does not eat cheese... .one meal was a charcuterie board and bag of lettuce. There was no one actually in charge of organizing meals, for breakfast someone put out the makings of smoothies, which we later learned we were to make and clean up our own smoothies or you could have prepackaged tasteless hardboiled eggs (absolutely disgusting) Aside from the accommodations and food. The "life-coaching" was sitting for hours while Tom wrote illegibly on a white board, which was not my idea of relaxing or wellness, as I attend meetings for work regularly and do not want to relive it on my weekends. Breakout sessions and discussion groups might have been better. The yoga was minimal, and I dont believe it was with a certified instructor, as she offered no modification, and there were several people with no yoga experience who needed instruction and got none. This was a waste of money and time.
