I thought Howard our salesman was honest with the issues with the two trucks we looked at. I am really surprised to hear all the negative reviews. Every car/truck on the lot is a good price for what you are buying, every vehicle had over 150,000 miles. What do people expect? Howard, is a genuine honest salesman. We bought a vehicle, as is, paid cash.. test drove it brought it home, it was great! 5 hours later our son drove it to the corner gas station for gas and a candy bar, he went in the gas station came back out and the car didn't start. We were worried to death that now we were stuck with a lemon. Howard called the next day, had the car towed and replaced the starter. Howard made it right and we are truly grateful. I just brought a car from them and 2 weeks after I had it the alternator went out and sure enough they fixed it for me and then after I picked the car up the next day the check engine light came on, and I took it to Auto Zone and it said the catallic converter, and then 6 days after that my car wouldn't start and its been sitting for 2 weeks and ain't even been able to drive my car and i call everyday and nobody returns my calls read more

Purchased a 2004 Chevy Avalanche back in early August of 2023. Vehicle seemed to have ran great but thats because they cleared all the Check codes to make it run, barely enough gas to give it a proper test drive (so the ECM/TCM does not throw codes). Second day owning it the AC stopped functioning and was intermittent, Heater as of now does not work, Once side blows warm and the other side is the freaking north pole even when set to 90F The oil filter was barely attached and was leaking,the oil had not been changed in a long time despite saying it was. it keeps throwing check engine codes and shutting down or going into low performance mode (limp home). Even after fixing the sensors it has thrown codes for, it still will not run or barely run. the transmission when shifting feels like a bull bucking. This is absolutely unacceptable. 8K for a vehicle that I was told ran great, was well taken care of. This vehicle was rode hard and thrown away drenched. Don't get screwed like I did, go somewhere else. Even a junk yard at this point has better vehicles then Doug's Autosales. They cant even get your tags transfered unless you keep pestering them and they will eventually stop taking your calls, the receptionist is rude as hell, they lie right to your face, the Millage on paper did not match the millage on the ODO. Only thing decent on this vehicle was the tires, and I am sure those are probably fake knock offs... Even the factory radio sounds like crap... This place is the absolute worst, Going to be contacting some attorneys to see if I can get some legal help I dont have much money and this is a complete waste of what little money I have and Now I am stuck with a loan I took to pay for this piece of $#!t vehicle. read more

i called this doug's auto sales from out of state talked to one of the supervisors jim.they had the pick up i. wanted and after talking with jim,i did something i told everyone to never do, i purchased it sight unseen except photo. jim said i think you will be happy with it . on its arrival one week later i was happy with my vehacle a 2007 lincon mark lt. it looked great , run good had a couple things wrong, but with 268 thousands miles and i being 89 years old i excect things to be worn a bit. jim worked with me helped me every way he could including transporting it to my location. personally i'm very happy with the service and i thank doug's auto sales company and jim who treated me very professional ,polite, and respectful. from my experiance i believe them to be a great place to do business and mine was completed while i lived about 2200 miles away and never went there in person. read more

This place is great. The team there is fantastic. Mark has helped me out a ton. Got a great deal on my new/used truck, they are very friendly and have great customer service. I bought my truck about a couple months ago. I've had a few small things I needed help with on the truck since then. I called them before going to an auto mechanic and they had me bring it in every time, got me all taken care of for no extra charge and helped me out as soon as I got there. They are also right in the heart of Pleasant View which is very convenient for me. Top notch service here. Highly recommend them if you're look for a used vehicle. Since buying this vehicle from the lot after seeing in on Car fax I've had to much trouble with it. I bought a ford f-150 platinum and for some reason it ran fine when I test drove it. The oil dipstick tube was broken. The site said the truck was a 5.0 but really it is a 5.4. I've spent approximately 4,000$ on this truck since I bought it 5 months back replaced cam phasers, solenoids multiple times and now I'm told that there is a timing chain problem causing thing clunking sound. Never will I ever buy a vehicle from this crappy place and I wouldn't recommend you to either. Shame on the people with their greed for money. I'm only 19 now I'm in debt because they decided to sell me a lemon. read more

My 1 star review We did our research as to value of the vehicle we were interested in prior to visiting Doug's. As we were looking at the truck, a salesman approached. My husband, s former successful and GM trained Cadillac car salesman, asked what they wanted for it. The man responded with a price that was too high. Husband responded not for that price and offered an idea what he would pay. The only information the salesman shared was there were new tires on it. WOW! Not even a name brand. I purchased a 2008 Ford F 150 from this dealership less than 4 weeks ago. I have driven less than 1000 miles and this past weekend, a check engine light came on. The code was read at an O'Reilly's and I replaced the cam shaft position sensors. I drove the vehicle and immediately the light came back on and began idling rough again. This morning, I took the vehicle to a mechanic. I was told the oil pressure is running at 12 psi and it should be at 30 psi. The mechanic stated the entire motor needs to be replaced and stated that previous codes had been removed according to his computer. Needless to say, there were no indications of that during the test drive and certainly wasn't disclosed. I contacted the dealership today and when I asked for Jim, my salesman, I was told he was with another customer. I asked for Doug and the lady on the phone placed me on hold. After several minutes she returned and said he wasn't available either. They are aware of the problem as the receptionist inquired when I initially called. As of this moment, I have not received a return call. I am hopeful this dealership makes it right. read more

The only reason I'm able to give one is because of Victor's friendly personality. That being said, customer service and personality are completely different, and that does not replace shady auto sales. If Tennessee offered penalties for lemon sales on used vehicles, I'd be filing a suit against Doug's Auto Sales. I purchased a 2008 Chevy Tahoe in February. It's barely May, and here are the problems encountered so far: 1. When we purchased this vehicle, it was leaking oil, heavily. We weren't aware until we got home. We took it back to Doug's and it turns out, there were four bolts missing out of the oil pan. This issue was "fixed," but if it was truly fixed, we wouldn't be having to put a quart of oil in every few weeks. 2. The alignment is off 20 degrees. This has caused the tires that came with the vehicle, having 60% tread on them to be completely BALD. There is a slow leak in one of the tires from dry rot and a rip in the sidewall. This was mentioned when we brought the vehicle in for the missing bolts, but was never taken care of, as promised. The tire pressure sensors do not work. They will alert me that the PSI is at 1 and then raises to 74, making it impossible to tell unless I physically use a tire pressure gauge - this is not an inconvenience unless I'm driving to work (45 minute drive), or out of town. 3. We were told that the vehicle, which is white, just hadn't been washed, which is why the trim appeared a little muddy (red clay). Turns out, this was stained. Although, not a huge deal, the lies just to execute the sale is poor customer service. 4. We were not informed that we must pay wheel tax, due to us living in a different county than the vehicle was registered in, which resulted in us getting fined. 5. We had to replace a hose after it BUSTED while driving, just two weeks after purchasing the vehicle. 6. One month after purchasing the vehicle, both brake calipers in the front had to be replaced, as well as brakes and rotors. This cost me $400 out of pocket! I'm just trying to let everyone reading reviews in consideration of purchasing a vehicle from Doug's Auto Sales, that while the salesmen are friendly, they are not honest. Bring a seasoned mechanic with you and have them get under the vehicle and look thoroughly. Doug's employees will NOT give you an accurate inspection and will have you spending quite a bit of money out of pocket. Be aware. read more

I purchased a 2010 Black Nissan Rogue AWD from Doug's Auto Sales in Pleasant View, TN. The salesperson Jimmy mentioned that the car I was purchasing used to belong to the Owners daughter, so the car was well cared for. I drove it off the lot, and it made a whistling noise, and the transmission was shifting a little late. So, I called Jimmy back to tell him about the shifting issue, and he assured me it was only because of the older transmission in the car. Not even a week later I deliver the car to my mom for a surprise. She called me later that day to let me know that the transmission isn't shifting right, that she can't go over a certain speed no matter how far she presses the gas down and it is making crazy noise. I got it to AutoZone and it said a Gross Evap Leak, and a TCM module needs to be replaced. So, I called Jimmy and arranged to drop it off to get it fixed. They said it was fixed and the issue should have been resolved. I went to take the car to my mother again, and this time it happened to me. The car broke down on the side of the road, and I call and left several messages with the dealership and never got a return. So, I have an $8,000 car that is just a paperweight. I would avoid this dealership as it seems they fix it up just good enough to get it on the road and collect their cash. Find a different dealership that is reliable. And I do have a video of the sounds that it was making as well so that they can't say it was fine. I can't reiterate it enough that you go to a different dealership. read more

Could have saved myself the trip had their website disclosed that they purchased their cars from hurricane Katrina victims. Recommend you steal a car rather than shop here. read more
