Richie was able to create a heating hose fitting and get me back on the road the same day! He quoted me a good price for the work. At first it was difficult to get information over the phone and to schedule an appointment. Apparently there was one person who may have the expertise for my Subaru. Maybe there was another reason, who knows? When I was there I asked very direct questions based on my limited knowledge of my car's issues and a previous estimate from the dealership. I didn't get direct answers and basically was told they'd have to work on the car to get the full picture. I made the mistake of sharing a written estimate. They basically recommended a lot of work which would require me to spend about what was on the previous estimate from the dealer, but not the exact same work. I was primarily concerned with anything that would effect safety and just being able to depend on the car not breaking down. They recommended new tires because of rot. I hadn't seen any rot but I took their word for it. They also did some suspension work, less than what I was going to get done at the dealership. I think they wanted me to buy tires through them also but that wasn't happening. After their work, I got my car back and got new tires from Costco. I still spent a lot of money. The quality of the work was good but the service, exchange of information and overall experience wasn't good. I know a few things about cars, I just don't work on them anymore because of all of the new technology. I think I know enough to know that I probably spent a few hundred dollars more than I needed to. Good quality work but not the value that I anticipated based on the reviews.

For starters, the customer service is consistently top of the line. If for some reason they miss your call, they call you back promptly even if you didn't leave a voice message. I've found most mechanics to be terrible at answering their phone at all. The ones that do answer are very short with you and seem inconvenienced if asked more than 2-3 basic questions. In comparison, these guys are friendly, enthusiastic, and actually helpful! They work with your schedule as best as they can and even recommend the best local businesses for work they don't perform i.e. auto body shop. Don't just take my word for it; do yourself a favor and call them; even just to get info regarding your specific need. From the initial phone call, you'll see what I'm talking about. Even more importantly, Bennett's Auto Shop is honest and operates with integrity. My very first experience with them was when my car started making an alarming rattling sound while driving on the highway. I was sure it would be a minimum of several hundred dollars in repair. Bennet made a way to fit me in the schedule toward the end of the day, took the time to jack the car up, and saw that a simple loose screw was causing all the racket. He was completely transparent, and even showed my husband what he had found. He even stated how his brother commented that I just want to come and complain. I don't know anyone who decides to wadte the time in their lives to sit for hours in a filthy auto shop, just to complain. He also LIED about the parts they were supposed to replace. They should have fixed a head gasket, radiator hoses, and the timing chain. Sammy's brother, Jose, said they replaced my raidiator. WHAT FOR, WHY?!!! I never took my other car anywhere else for service. Customer service is amazing; you will never feel like "maybe he is trying to take advantage of me because I don't know anything about cars." They are honest and kind; they will look at your car and provide a true assessment before trying to charge you. I don't go here that often now because I have a newer car and the dealership included basic maintenance for a few years with my purchase. However for anything else... I go here first. I don't even want to give my money to any other auto repair place because they are more than deserving of the business. When I had a large plastic bag stuck under my car, I asked if they could lift it to see if there was more leftover that I could not reach. They did so and didn't even charge me for it. Recently, my tire needed a patch and they provided a recommendation to another place because it is not a service they offer. Again I'm grateful they could provide that recommendation because I really didn't want to go anywhere besides here and wouldn't have trusted anywhere I found on my own. Warning: They are amazing and it's no secret to others in the area, which means they are of course busy. If you need something simple like an oil change, be there before they open (I would always go on Saturday early morning and it wouldn't take too long). PLEASE, PLEASE do yourself a favor and read other negative reviews for additional information.** -Long read- I brought my vehicle in for an AC recharge and an alignment. Before bringing the vehicle in, it was quoted $80 for the AC recharge and based on the services discussed, I understood my total bill would be approximately $200. I waited at the shop for my vehicle to be serviced. When the work was done, I was quoted $290. Only then was I informed that an additional service had been performed because the system would not hold a charge. My concern was not that additional work was needed, but that no one contacted me for authorization before increasing the cost as I was sitting in the lobby and readily available for communication the whole time. The alignment experience was even more frustrating. After leaving the shop, I immediately noticed that the alignment warning light was still on, the steering wheel was off-center and the vehicle was pulling to the left. I returned right away and explained the issue to Ricardo. I was told that the alignment technician was at lunch and that I would need to wait or come back another day. When I explained that not only do I live and hour away, I had to get to work and that I did not feel it was fair for me to absorb the inconvenience of correcting work that was not completed properly the first time, I requested a refund so I could have the alignment corrected elsewhere. My request was denied. I was told that alignments are not always done correctly the first time and may require multiple attempts. As a customer, I find that explanation unacceptable. A vehicle should be test-driven and verified before being returned to the customer. Unfortunately, this was not my first negative experience with this shop. Several months ago, I brought my vehicle in for AC diagnostics on a Friday. I specifically told both Ricardo and another employee at the front desk reception that I worked multiple jobs that weekend and absolutely needed access to my vehicle after hours. Both assured me that leaving the vehicle accessible for pickup would not be a problem. When I arrived close to midnight to retrieve my vehicle, it was locked inside the shop. When I contacted Ricardo, he informed me that no one would come to the shop to release the vehicle and that I would have to wait until the next morning. He then explained that the vehicle had been locked inside for "security reasons". I communicated to him that had that information been communicated to me beforehand, I would have made different arrangements or chosen another day for service. Instead, I was left scrambling after midnight to borrow a vehicle from a friend and later had to arrange for someone else to pick up my car because my work schedule prevented me from retrieving it during business hours on Saturday. My biggest issue throughout both experiences has been the lack of communication, failure to follow through on commitments and what I felt was rude and dismissive customer service. I understand that mistakes happen. What matters is how a business handles them. It has been an extremely frustrating experience and Ricardo was extremely unprofessional! Unfortunately, based on my experiences, I will never return and I cannot recommend this shop!!
