I get here on my workday driving a truck with unsafe tires only to be told once I got here and once my tires were purchased that they're unsafe and they can't go on my truck. If you do not have an appointment don't even think about it! It seems like if you do a walk in you get immediately bumped when the appointment shows up. The main issue is they give you a completely fictitious timeframe on when you will receive services. I came in at 11 and was told I'd be seen by 1:15 to1:30. It is now 3:20 and they are just pulling my vehicle in. They are also STILlL accepting walk-ins and giving deadlines they know they cannot meet because they already have appointments that are coming in and bumping walk-ins down the list. I've waisted my entire day and once the maintenance is complete I still have an hour long drive back home. If you already have appointments for the day and will not be able to squeeze folks in with the timelines you have, why not just be honest and say "Our schedule is too full". That way you are not giving false hope and deterring customers from ever wanting to use your business. I walked intalk with the guys that worked there and got great service. I had to wait a little cause of other customers were in front of me. I got to say they treated an elderly black woman with great respect (if they did, she probably would of knock the shit out of them) It's nice for a change to see good customer service. They took careof me and got what I needed had to wait a couple of days for my tire which was ok once they were there in and out within an hour. They were friendly, prompt and professional. I couldn't have expected better service. I got there around 8:30am and was immediately greeted. I told them I needed new tires for my jeep. I did tell them what I wanted. I also mentioned that I had tried to get the tires at Costco, but they would have needed to order them. I told them that Costco would have been a little cheaper and they said no problem they would match Costco's price. I showed them a screenshot of Costco's price and that was all they needed. I purchased a set of tires for my wife's car with the tire certificates around a year ago, and she got a nail in one. I called and made an appointment, and they ordered the same tire in case they had to replace it. My wife and little son went to this place to get new tires for our car and they took a 600 dollar payment. On her return they said they couldn't do it because of the cars lug nut key. She went to the place next door and for a hundred bucks more had the work done quickly. She returned to this place so we could get our money back and they said it would be five to seven business days. Imagine if that happened to anyone there? We live paycheck to paycheck and this place was completely incompetent and could not do the job and then decided to keep our money for a week. When they told her this they were also rude telling her to 'Have a nice life' and more less than flattering sentiments. I wish I could give zero stars. Rude people who can't even do their jobs. HOW TO LOSE A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE! As a business owner one has to worry that the actions of employees you trust could create irreparable damage to the businesses, it's customer based and reputation within the community. The interactions I had with Nevin and Jake at this discount tire location is the exact one which I hope never transpires in my business as you can be sure neither myself of our business fleet will ever set foot in this location again. We had a blowout on one of our trucks, upon looking online this discount tire store showed there was stock. Called and found out the new tire shown in stock had been sold, but Nevin then proceeded to tell me they had a full set of "used" tires of that model. I mentioned would call back shortly as I made arrangements as it was a long drive from Sarasota and would barley make it before they closed for the weekend. Called back and this time Jake answered, I proceeded to fill him in on the conversation with Nevin and asked if we could put his eyes and hands on those tires as we where going to have to jump through hoops, and drive 2 hours to get there with minutes before they closed. He assured me they where there. Get there and after 5 minutes of "looking" Nevin comes out and tells me that those used tires where here yesterday but he can't locate them. He then quickly proceeds to tell me that the do have a full set of new tires at $389 a piece that he could sell me. I asked if this was some kind of joke as he and Jake had both assured me they where there. He then tells me that's funny because "Jake has been gone a long time" basically saying I was lying. Upon telling him I spoke with him 2 hours ago he then proceeded to go back to trying to sell me the new set of tires. At that point it was very clear those "used" tires where never there. These scammers where simply playing a bait and switch game to sell a new expensive set of tires. BEWARE! I had a slow leak on my 20" GMC truck tire. I asked Asst. Mgr. Tanner if he could inspect/repair and how much would he charge? Tanner assured me that he would pull the tire and inspect, repair or patch the tire and remount for free! I waited about an hour to get worked in as they were very busy and once the tire was off and inspected the technician told me it had a plug in it that was leaking and that it could not be repaired? Technician said Discount Tire could only put my 18" spare tire on. Their concern was for my safety and any liability should they remount my 20" tire? I was now stuck with a "free repair/patch" turned into, "you'll need a new tire!" Tanner brought me inside and offered me a discounted price on an new tire ($209) and said he would order it for me should I decide to purchase. I told Tanner I was going to take it to my GMC dealership and have it repaired, KelleyBuickGMC.com. Tire plug was located in the center of the tire well within the Tire Industry Repair Standards. "The only way to properly repair a tire is to demount it from the rim so it can inspected on the inside, remove the damaged material, fill the void with rubber, and seal the inner liner with a repair unit." KelleyBuickGMC pulled plug, patched hole from inside, remounted tire and stowed my spare and ONLY charged me $25. Technician said that Discount Tire was just trying to sell me a tire! No thank you! I arrived at 10:00 o'clock which was my appointment time and waited in line with other customers. There were two employees at the counter but only one was helping customers, the other employee was more interested in looking up information on his computer with no intention to alleviate the line. It was 10:45 by the time the technician finally provided me a price, and processed my warranty claim. He told me it would be 2 additional hours before he could have the tires installed on my vehicle. I watched patiently for an hour as store employees brought walk-in customer's vehicles into the stalls to be serviced ahead of my vehicle. In my opinion, they were selectively choosing what vehicles they wanted to service based on whom the customer was and not a customer que or appointment time. 19 April 22: I'm really at a point that I don't know what to think of this location. It's a hit or miss. Some customers get helped and others are brushed off. Warranty is there but unless you know what you're talking about when it comes to tires as a customer your concerns will get ignored. Pretty disappointed with my last visit being that I was asked to return and was told I would be taken care of because my tires were under warranty. Drove 52 minutes there to be told nothing is wrong, but it's been the same complaint for every visit. I was told they needed to see the tires physically even though I was here 13 days prior. They would only discount $28 initially leaving me with a total of $1000 for a new set. Then, they dropped the amount to $630.96 by giving me a little more of a discount. After finally asking about their policy on the warranty and asking someone to go for a drive for the second time but this time I wasn't told no. The final amount I was charged for a new set was $264.29 after the gentleman drove with me and realized there was something wrong and couldn't explain what could cause the ongoing issue. I was frustrated at the fact that the first employee wasn't even willing to work with me until someone else decided to hear me out. It shouldn't be this way. 22 April 22: While sitting in the lobby I learned they do offer military discount but you need to purchase the tires online and verify the military status. I came in for a patch because I had something in my tire causing a leak. The service rep that assisted me took a quick peak and decided that he couldn't patch my tire and I HAD to buy a new one. I asked if the professionals could look at it and make sure that this was in fact a puncture that could not be fixed and he said "They are pickier than me" and would not entertain the idea. I went up the road TWO businesses down to Capital Tire and they took my tire off and assessed the damage before telling me I had to buy a new one. Turns out it was definitely patch worthy. Though I paid $35 for the patch when Discount Tire is supposed to be free. Atleast I didn't spend hundreds on a new tire that I did not need. :) Seems very shady to me, to offer free tire patch services and then put people in a corner to buy a tire when it's not necessary. No problem with that, but their phone started ringing. Someone came out of a back room and answered the phone, leaving me standing there. My tire light came on so I went to Discount Tires because my tires had been purchased from them & they said it came with tire service for the life of the tire. When I went in there were 2 salesmen at the counter. I told first salesman that my tire light was on. He said go to the tire station & they will check it out. I went to tire station & the mechanic said he can't check it out & I need to schedule it with salesperson. I go back in & salesman #2 says go to tire station. I said that I wasn't going back there because the mechanic told me to talk to salesman. Then he went out, looked at my tires & said it would be 3 hours before they can look at my tires. 3 hours to tell me if I had a flat or just low air pressure? I told them can't you even look for a leak? I can't go anywhere on a flat tire. The salesman said "no, we can't look at it". I have been to a lot of mechanics & a flat tire is always given a priority because the car is immobile. So I told him that their service sucked & neither of the 3 people there knew what they were doing. I took my daughters car to have the tires rotated. During the rotation they broke 2 studs off and they did take care of getting them fixed. This week she had a flat tire and has to put the spare on. In order to get the flat one off it took 2 people to get the lug nuts off which discount tire cross threaded. When I got up there they broke another stud off but nothing was said about it.
