Once the issue was found, it only took a couple hours. Made sure I was informed about the health of my vehicle seeing as I just got it. Told me there was some wear on certain things, but it was nothing out of the ordinary. No "crucial issues" manifested themselves that I NEED to spend money on NOW or else my first born child will die. Basically ran a free diagnostic test the way I see it. Friendly and personable staff from the receptionists, mechanics, and owner. Even answered the phone for a quick question a few minutes before closing. Highly recommend and will be my go to mechanic!

I was visiting from Orlando and needed to get back home that same night. Richie called me back with a diagnosis and quote. The part I needed was on back order. Richie was able to create a heating hose fitting and get me back on the road the same day! He quoted me a good price for the work. At first it was difficult to get information over the phone and to schedule an appointment. Apparently there was one person who may have the expertise for my Subaru. Maybe there was another reason, who knows? When I was there I asked very direct questions based on my limited knowledge of my car's issues and a previous estimate from the dealership. I didn't get direct answers and basically was told they'd have to work on the car to get the full picture. I made the mistake of sharing a written estimate. They basically recommended a lot of work which would require me to spend about what was on the previous estimate from the dealer, but not the exact same work. I was primarily concerned with anything that would effect safety and just being able to depend on the car not breaking down. They recommended new tires because of rot. I hadn't seen any rot but I took their word for it. They also did some suspension work, less than what I was going to get done at the dealership. I think they wanted me to buy tires through them also but that wasn't happening. After their work, I got my car back and got new tires from Costco. I still spent a lot of money. The quality of the work was good but the service, exchange of information and overall experience wasn't good. I know a few things about cars, I just don't work on them anymore because of all of the new technology. I think I know enough to know that I probably spent a few hundred dollars more than I needed to. Good quality work but not the value that I anticipated based on the reviews.

I brought my SUV to Sammy's, at 815 Hillsborough Ave in Tampa, for a small repair of a hose. Two…read moredays later, it breaks. I'm stranded in traffic. I take it back to them and 3 more things need to be fixed. They kept my car for 3 weeks. The day after I got it back, there were more complications than the original problem. I've taken my car back about 10x now. Each time they say they can't find the issue or can't hear the massive noises it makes. I drove with them and, like magic, the noises appeared. I brought my car to them Friday, They were supposed to call me at 2 or 3pm. No calls and when I try to contact them, they NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE! Today I went to their shop with a male neighbor of mine. The owners brother raised his voice at me in an attempt to intimidate me and was using profanity to deflect from their horrible work. He even stated how his brother commented that I just want to come and complain. I don't know anyone who decides to wadte the time in their lives to sit for hours in a filthy auto shop, just to complain. He also LIED about the parts they were supposed to replace. They should have fixed a head gasket, radiator hoses, and the timing chain. Sammy's brother, Jose, said they replaced my raidiator. WHAT FOR, WHY?!!! Long story longer, my car is still not fixed, I'm out $1,600, I have no money left to fix my car. The engine is about to die. I'm now about to take them to court. NEVER TAKE YOUR CAR TO SAMMY'S...EVER!!!

I don't recall paying extra to have fluids topped in the past at other companies, but to be fair I may not have paid close enough attention. I went on "ladies day" for a discount. I passed on the $40 cabin filter. Sadly, I picked up a nail in the sidewalk on my way home.
