It has taken upwards of 15+ calls just to receive a call back, let alone hear an update about my car. You would think after countless voicemails, "promises" to do better, and even a complaint with the Better Business Bureau the communication would improve, but sadly not! I couldn't believe the review that gave him a 1 star. I've been a mechanic long ago and know the problems with parts and it's worse today. On going saga with my 2007 Chevy 2500 van. Ian has had his frustrations with my van. I had it rebuilt 3 1/2 years ago by another mechanic. After a year it started failing when I was up in Virginia and I drove back to Lakeland in 2nd gear. The mechanic I used moved to Sarasota, so I decided to find someone local. I read the reviews on several shops and decided Aamco on Memorial would be okay. Ian the owner rebuilt it. He showed me the parts that came out of the transmission. I was not happy because I paid extra for upgraded parts that weren't in it from the other guy. Anyway, Ian had it fixed in couple days. After 2 weeks it was acting up again and I took to Ian. He said it would be a week. I had to come back the next day to get my tools. Ian called in the morning and told me he already had the trans out and was fixing a defective bearing. a couple months later, another noise. took it Ian and he never made any excuses or even checked the noise. He said if I heard it he would fix it. Again a bad part with a chip out of a gear. I had a some engine failures due to electronics sensors. I replaced them but found out the computer needed to be reprogramed. Back to Ian. I also had him fix the AC. Ian called said he didn't like the way the trans was shifting was fixing it at no charge because it was a little past warranty. Great! I picked it up, drove it home and parked it. Two days later I was driving to Winter Park. The trans starts acting up, slipping and not shifting out of 2nd. Back to Ian. He rebuild the whole transmission including a new torque converter because the valve body he had just replaced had minor part missing that allowed it to destroy the trans. The charge $0! Go see Ian and his guys.
