I had already been to Ace Hardware, and Tractor Supply, looking for a gas cap that Lowe's and Home Depot did not have. It was an oddball, and not the one listed in the Briggs and Stratton manual as replacement. If you like being lied to constantly this is the place for you! Dropped off our power washer and was told it would take 1-1.5 weeks to repair. After three weeks we started calling every week asking what was going on with our power washer. Every time you call they tell you it'll be finished tomorrow with no call. We would let a few days go by because we know how crazy it is getting reliable workers. After 7 weeks I started calling everyday, pressuring them to get my power washer done. Finally they say it's done, go to pick it up and they try giving me the wrong power washer. Looked through all there power washers and mine was nowhere to be found. They said oh we will try to find it and call you. They never called so I had to go on a day I had off work to see what was going on. They found our power washer but of course it's still not fixed. Over 8 weeks to finally get our power washer back. Staff not friendly, way over priced, and they will constantly just lie and say your machine will be fixed tomorrow to get you off there back. That's what you get for trying to support a local business. I will never return and suggest you save yourself the hassle. read more

I don't understand the negative reviews. We always use Doug's for our lawn equipment repairs and have always had good and fast service at a reasonable price. This morning we needed our leaf blower repaired. It was a minor problem and they didn't charge us. Will continue to use and recommend Doug's. read more

Would not recommend this company, rider is back for the third time, picked up after first repair, used it 10 mins and it quit running, they picked it up and after a week and a half they returned it. Used it that day right after they dropped it of. Didn't even get my lawn finished and it quit yet again. Called they said they would pick it up. After 2 weeks they finally picked it up. Bunch of RIP OFF ARTISTS!!!! Had my chain saw for THREE MONTHS, still no repair cause they couldn't get parts (I get that) but if you can't fix it you can't fix it. Still charged me a $44 "fee" for holding my chain saw for 3 months. No refund when I picked up my non-repaired chain saw. I'm all for supporting local businesses but stay away from this group of criminals. read more

Had my air compressor for more than 2 months. I suspect it's because it's a warranty repair and I'm not a typical paying customer, but who knows. Maybe they're slow with everyone. I had no choice with my warranty service, but if/when I do have a choice of where to take my equipment for repair in the future.... It damn sure won't be there! read more

To everyone with a review on this company. Try going to Janney's hardware it will take months to get anything fixed. These shops are loaded with repairs. I have been to several other places and no one is better at getting repair done. John the owner is the best small engines mechanic in the Toledo area. They are the absolute worst in customer service and will do whatever repairs they decide to without giving an estimate. Had them pick up my riding mower (less than a mile from the shop) because of an oil leak. The rider started fine and ran fine prior to mishap with the carburetor. Picked up on 4/18 with the simple request to look at mower and give me an estimate on the repairs. No call for 4 weeks. Called on 5/20 and to my surprise the mower was just repaired (on 5/14) and ready for pick up. I said excuse me, "you repaired it without calling me with an estimate? This is an old mower." She told me there was not anything written on the ticket about calling with an estimate. I told her that must be their mistake. I asked what the cost of repairs were for an oil leak. She told me it was not an oil leak but gas leaking into the carb. I said ok, again what is the cost? She added it up to tell me it was $497.14. I almost choked!! I said the mower isn't even worth that. That's when she wanted to argue to state her case. Um NO!!! I asked about and estimate for a oil leak as she interjected again with "it was a gas leak". I asked why it was so much? They took it upon themselves to do the following WITHOUT consent! Air filter replacement, oil filter replacement and oil, fuel filter, spark plug, new deck belt, sharpen blades, bushings in the wheels and lets not forget the carb kit (only necessary and requested repair). The solution from the owners wife.....get this...."we can remove any parts you don't want." I told the lady this is bad business and this is not what I authorized to be completed on my mower. She then told me I must have some underlying issues and I am taking them out on her...(LOL)! Um no lady! "My issue is you did unauthorized repairs and that is NOT ok with me and your only solution is to remove parts." This place is bad business! I do not and will not recommend! One of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Dropped off chainsaw 4/16/18 asked for estimate before repairs were made, called 6/05/18 as I received no call with estimate. Chainsaw was apart and not repaired so I picked up to take someplace else. They charged me $40.00 for retaining fee!! I traveled from Los Angeles to Lambertville, MI to help my Sister deal with our Mother's health issues associated with stage 7 dementia. While there, I found that my Sister had deferred several items of maintenance while devoting "all" of her time to Mom. One item was a 1995 TORO self-propelled push mower, which she had purchased at an estate sale. I began going through the mower, issue by issue, and there were many. After first going to another TORO dealer, who shall remain nameless, we went to Doug's, which was actually closer. I explained that I wanted to help my Sister rather than simply bring the mower to the shop. That's when we met "Cousin John" (there are two John's), Auntie Sue, and Brother Eric. Cousin John encouraged me to do as much as I wanted, and that Doug's would assist with information and recommendations, either during future visits, or by phone. During the next four days, we went to Doug's five separate times to buy parts and to get more information, and that's when we met "Uncle John". On every visit, they stopped what they were doing, addressed our questions, and supported us with information on what else we might find. Result: The mower is working perfectly, Doug's did everything they said they would do (and more), they treated my Sister with respect and dignity, and they have made a customer and a friend for life. After 48 years in the automotive business, I fully realize there are all kinds of customers, haters, and competitors who will file bad Yelp reports. I had a snowblower that would not start so Doug's came on Friday and picked it up. The next day, which was the Saturday during the storm last month, they called and said it was done and would be delivered that afternoon. They delivered it and it has worked fine and starts the first pull. Total cost with pickup and delivery was $117 which I thought was very reasonable. It was a lifesaver to have it back that quickly because we had 8-9 inches of snow to clear the next day. Thank you to Doug's! read more

I called Doug's to have my Ariens riding mower picked up and repaired. On 7/6/15 they picked it up. A weld broke on the mower deck, the front wheels were not aligned (something was bent) and the mower was backfiring when shut down. I was told it would be 3 weeks before they looked at it. 2 months later (9/10/15), after calling weekly I get the riding mower back. Wheels are still not aligned, motor still backfires but they DID fix the mower deck weld. They did charge me for ALL the work they were supposed to do. I will NEVER recommend the incompetent so-called mechanics at Doug's, but I will go out of my way to tell people to never use them. If I could give them less than 1 star I would!! Update 9/11: So I called to tell them that the front wheels were still crooked. They tell me that they looked at a newer model than mine and the wheels were crooked also. Lmao, seriously? Apparently they all sell riding mowers with misaligned steering. Right... Update, I called to have them pick my riding mower/tractor up and asked that they fix it correctly this time. They picked it up on a Monday and fixed all the issues and delivered it to me by Thursday. I wish they would have done this the first time. read more

They will bend over backwards to help you with your problem I have stopped just to ask questions on something I was working on and was told how to fit it or what I would need to make the repair. One of the worse customer service experiences I've ever had. A belt for my riding lawnmower that "will be done in a couple days", wasn't done 2 weeks later. It took 3 calls, first 2 with a promise to call back that never happened, just to be told a story about how the belt just arrived. 3 days and 3 more phone calls later I'm told that now 3 other things need to be fixed in the next 2 days, before they can release it. Wasn't even worried about that part, it was 6 days, 5 more phone calls later to find out it will be ready for sure tomorrow..... read more

Horrible customer service. Warning! Look elsewhere for repairs. Did not call with an estimate and took three days to locate my riding lawn mower. After a week of trying to get through I finally had them tell me the repair was made. What repair did you do? Ends up being $350.00 dollars for what equates to a $500.00 dollar lawn mower. Are you kidding me. Who gets away with this kind of non sense. The owners wife made excuse after excuse. There is no excuse for not quoting an estimate before approval for repairs that would cost that much. Just went over there. They stated that you have to ask for an estimate or else they will just do apparently what ever repairs they want to do and you will pay it? They had my lawn mower for a month! Took two small go-carts in to get checked out since one was running rough and the other wasn't running at all. After a month and a half of not hearing from them, I called. Was told one cart was ready, and the other needed a new engine. They never called with an estimate, they just did the repairs. Dropped off a new engine to be installed in the other cart, was told they'd get to it the next week. After a couple of weeks of not hearing from them, called to check on the status. The woman on the phone took my name and number and said she'd call me back. Never heard back from her. Called back the next day, and was told it was done. When asked for the total on the repair, the woman said she didn't have the info and would call back. The work is okay, but customer service is terrible, especially the part about not calling with estimates and getting authorization for the work. Would not recommend this place. read more

Filled my 2 yr old riding lawnmower up with gas to mow the lawn then got on to start it when I heard a loud bang. Then the mower wouldn't go so my husband found the problem which was a belt broke. He changed the belt but the mower wouldn't go at a normal speed it was really really slow. We dropped it off at Doug's and told them what happened. I was told 2 weeks. After 3 1/2 weeks I called them. I was told they didn't know what was wrong with it and they would call me by mid to end of the week. That week came and passed with no call. I left for a week on vacation and when I came back I stopped in the place. I was told the guy working on it had just left and I believe it was the owner who said he would give him a few minutes to get home then he would call him and let me know that night whats going on with it. It is now 5 1/2 weeks in. He never called. We got busy and another week went by 6 1/2 now. We finally got a call that it was done 204.00 was the charge, they said it was a bearing. Good thing we ran it before taking it because it was still exactly the way we dropped it off, no speed. Makes me wonder if it ever needed the bearing. They said it was from leaving it parked outside not sure I believe that one. Which it is but it is always covered. We demanded they give us a mower in the mean time which they did give us a large walk behind to use. So now 2 more weeks go past and they finally call and say its fixed. We complained about it so they said they would only charge us for the parts and not the labor. Another 65 dollars. I got it back and went to use it today and it wouldn't start. I checked the fuel and it was empty so I was upset even more with Doug's and I filled it up and it started right up so I started to mow now. Made it a few feet and noticed I have a flat tire to! I will never ever use or recommend this place to any one! I feel I was totally ripped off and lied to when they tell you they will call or return calls. read more
