Love this place it's so nice , big, open, and a really great selection for any budget. We come here for riding gear. They carry all the great brands for kids like Ariat and Kerrits. If you're shopping last minute for a show, this is your place. The staff is super friendly. Yes! They give a military discount too. They offer curbside pick up and you have to call the store before they let you in due to COVID 19 restrictions. The only thing missing is horse parking . Can I just move in? read more

Came here when I first started riding to buy all my practice and show gear, and the staff who helped me were extremely helpful. They were nice and gave lots of helpful tips on fit, brands, and sizing, without being pushy. This is the closest Dover store to me while I'm at school and my go-to place to go shopping for horse related stuff. Unfortunately the store does not nearly have as much as the Dover catalog does! I often have to place an order for things that are not in stock at the store, but they will ship it to you for free, which is nice. I couldn't find a helmet that fit perfectly at the store, so the salesguy mentioned that an older-style GPA would probably fit my round head the best, and even gave me suggestions on where I could purchase one since Dover didn't stock it. read more

As usual, horseback riding equipment is very expensive. But, there were a lot of sales especially if you have their monthly catalog. They normally have a huge tent sale and all for almost anything you can imagine for horseback riding. They have everything from saddles, to saddle pads, to treats, to brushes, and even horse shaped clips. The show equipment such as breaches, shirts, and jackets were very nice and only of the highest quality. The pants for showing were spectacular and looks amazing. I have been to the store many times to buy little things here and there such as crops, blankets, and pants and I've never had a problem with the employees. They knew what they were talking about when I was asking difficult questions and they were very helpful. I would definitely recommend this store to a friend. read more

I've visited Dover twice. The first time, I was immediately struck by their selection - it's fabulous. However, things start to fall apart with their customer service which has been seriously lacking on both visits. On my first visit I was saddle shopping and, even with what I consider my intermediate level of saddle knowledge I was clearly more knowledgable and experienced than their staff even about their own inventory. The sales lady declared they had no 17.5 Pessoas and after looking for 2 minutes I was able to locate one on the floor. I wasn't able to find what I wanted on the floor so ordered two saddles from their warehouse to try. I was told they would be in later that week on Friday or Saturday, but didn't receive the fIrst call to inform me of their arrival until two weeks later. At the time, I was out of town and subsequently received a call informing me that if I didn't show up the same day to try them they would be returned. On the second visit, all staff was congregated chatting at the register and there was only one other customer.. after browsing and being unable to located what I wanted, I grabbed boot polish on the way out. When I approached the register all the staff walked away. One commented she would be right back with me. Amazing how they were chatting for 30 minutes with no offer to help and suddenly when I approached the register had to urgently attend to other matters. Bottomline- good selection but the subpar knowledge and attendance of staff makes this my by far second choice locally. read more

First time at a Dover store and I was very impressed! The service and staff were helpful and friendly. The store was nicely kept and well stocked especially for a busy holiday season! A great sale was going on and so I got a great deal on a new riding vest for $20 and also purchased some new boots and got a free hat with purchase. Awesome salespeople! I went in for a protective vest, they are located at the back of the store, so I meandered through all the racks and tacks to get there and every couple minutes one of the very helpful young women popped by to see if I needed help or had any questions. When I did finally get to the vests, a very nice, knowledgeable girl helped me find the right style and fit. I'll be back here again and again! ... the only downside was spending wayyy too much money but I think that happens in any tack shop. read more
