    Quiche & maple latte

What a unique place! Being part of the Duluth Folk School meant there's also a "market" inside with handmade goods in addition to the cafe food and beverages. I definitely felt like it had a cool, community-based vibe with all kinds of people there and all kinds of seating. The way it works is to order up at the counter and they call out your name when your drink is ready. For food, you get a number to put on your table and they deliver it to you. I got the quiche and a maple latte, both of which I enjoyed very much. They had some other unique menu options that sounded like they're updated/rotated regularly. Prices were a little higher than I was expecting but I think the cafe helps provide income for the school so if that's true then at least it's to a good cause.

The most delicious coffee and breakfast! I stopped in on a Friday morning and ordered the quiche of the day and a latte with their homemade maple and vanilla syrup. Everything was so flavorful and delicious. The staff were super friendly and it did not take long at all for our food and drink to come out. The inside of the Cafe was super cute and even had a little shop inside where you could buy handcrafted items. Definitely recommend visiting!

Lovely atmosphere, a lot of seating, great coffee and food options. It's probably one of the largest coffee shops I've been to. It had different areas with different vibes but overall is very open and well designed. The coffee options seem to be of high quality and the food health conscious. My only complaint is their patio customer service. I had to ask two times for a glass to fill up my own water and each time they pointed out that all their glasses were dirty and needed washing. The second time they questioned if I was really thirsty and needed water right away. I said I was thirsty so they reluctantly gave me a plastic to go cup. I understand they are probably trying to avoid using plastic but I waited quite a while and was truly thirsty. Their attitudes just seemed a bit snobbish and like they didn't want to be bothered. Other than that the food was good but not cheap and the late I got was pretty good. I'd give them another try because it's such a unique place.

Best mac and cheese of my entire life. I will be dreaming of this creamy, dreamy concoction everyday for, well, forever probably. It was that good. Pasta was kinda mushy but that's how I like it. The sauce was velvety. The mixed green side salad and it's tangy vinaigrette were the perfect accompaniment. The register is adorned on either side with fresh baked goods: cookies, brownies, rice krispie treats, etc. How could I say no to such tempting baked goods? So obviously I had to buy three: a breakfast cookie, a ginger cookie, and a browned butter chocolate chip cookie. I am saving them for the 11 hour drive back to Missouri tomorrow and that makes the idea more bearable. They also offered alcohol, cafe style drinks, and a beautiful sounding quiche of the day. Wish I could visit more often!

Dovetail Cafe never fails to make my mornings. I love going there to get a hot drink and one of their many baked goods. One of my favorite things to order is the Chai Tea Latte and their Pumpkin Bread. The atmosphere of Dovetail is also why it keeps me coming back. They provide a rustic and friendly atmosphere. They provide free books to read and free games to play. Along with crafts and artwork that is available to buy. One of my favorite things at Dovetail is the large windows. I love the natural light and the warmth that comes from the windows. The service is also wonderful. The workers create a welcoming environment and ordering is clear and easy.

As someone just traveling through Duluth, this was restaurant was amazingly friendly and open. The food was good, and the staff was incredibly friendly. I had the salmon salad, which tasted very fresh and delicious. The shop inside offered fun little trinkets as well, although I didn't end up getting anything.

Had to get another iced chai to go because the first one was phenomenal! Food is great, big portions on the quiche. Great place!

I didn't realize they had three locations and it probably would have been more convenient to go to the Lincoln Park bakery but alas I found myself on the Superior side. Grateful though as parking here was easy, it wasn't crowded, but you can tell it's a local hot spot. They offer tons of cute activities for the community and have plenty of seating for you to enjoy your baked goods! I got the pizza danish, a caramel roll, and a crunchy munchkin cookie. The pizza danish was really good! Super interesting balance of herbs, pepperoni and cheese on a fluffy danish. I think it would have been better slightly toasted but that might have changed the danish to not be as soft. The caramel roll was absolutely AMAZING. Probably the best caramel roll I've ever had to be honest, I don't usually like walnuts but it was a really great balance to the super soft and fluffy roll. Usually I find caramel rolls to get too hard but it wasn't at all even after eating it a few hours after I purchased it - so delicious, I might get another on my way out of town! The cookie was my least favorite - it was more like a shortbread cookie, a bit flavorless and just buttery and a bit dry.

Pecan rolls were very good but coffee nothing to speak of- downside was barista. She was only worker and away from counter when we arrived for about five minutes. She left a note. So we waited. She was a bit abrupt. She controlled the half and half and wouldn't let me touch container and she determined what quantity was needed. Later, as we ate our roll, she attempted to place a blackboard above a cooler. She failed, it fell on her head and knocked coffee supplies to the floor. Another customer checked in on her, asking if she was ok. She replied she was fine. Customer then said that what she had done wasn't safe to which barrister responded that her commentary wasn't welcome. If I come back I hope she's having a better day and has a more pleasant demeanor.

Eggs were poached perfectly, the hollandaise was rich and thick and not broken. The potatoes were potatoes. Cooked and lightly seasoned. I had the chicken fried steak, and it was crispy, not too bready, and cooked wonderfully. The sausage country gravy was how it is supposed to be done. Thick, meaty, full of flavor, not overly salted. It was almost too much for me, and i love flavor. Hash browns were well cooked, and the over easy eggs were amazing. I haven't had an over easy egg cooked that spectacularly in ages. The yolk totally uncooked, and even slightly separated from the white. The white fully cooked. Beautifully runny, all over my hash browns, with more gravy and a touch of hot sauce. Reminded me of the little diner i went to as a kid in Grygla. I might drive up to Duluth just to return with no other reason.
