My condo had a contract to sell, contingent on inspection. One Dovi window was installed "improperly" according to the inspection report. The meter shows 16.5 and 19 moisture in the wall. Kelly was "too busy" attending a window show, Drake would call me back within a week to discuss the repair plan. Nobody did what they said. I was willing to pay them for reinstallation to resolve the problem. I didn't want something for nothing. The condo sold for $40,000 less than the marked price. I was warned by locals and one GC but I focused on the positive reviews here. Avoid Dovi Windows! I regret having to post a negative review and deeply regret Dovi measuring and installing the wrong size doors that consistently and severely (see photos. I can't post videos but I have them!) leak into my first floor. I paid $29,030 for 2 sets of sliding glass doors. They are high quality and beautiful PGT sliding doors. The manager stated (on video) that they were installed correctly but wrong size. I consulted with a GC and a window and door company who confirmed they were the wrong size and that is why the have leaked since installation. They Improperly measured windows. They have tried to caulk it and tape it but it never help. I send videos of it leaking and call distressed during every rain storm including moderate rain. The measurer came out and stated that the wrong size doors were ordered by the sales person. He told the sales person the day that he came out for the final measure on my balcony, but the sales person said that I wanted this size doors! I asked him why he did not share his critical information with me and he said because he's only permitted to talk to the sales person not the homeowner. He assumed that I had approved the doors that were too small. I never discussed the internal size of the doors and measuring is their expertise. I had asked the salesperson to order the largest doors for the openings for more glass (view) and even had a crow bar for them to remove the molding. I emphasized that these are critical to the integrity of my home and I had insurance money that was dedicated to making sure I got the doors that wouldn't leak. Cost was no object because I had more than enough resources with the insurance settlement. I was getting two sets of doors are on the second floor and if they leak , they destroy the 2st level below. The owner refuses to order the proper size windows and denies that this is the solution despite every attempt to stop the leaking, failing. PGT (manufacturer) evaluated the doors. My doors are Not approved to shim more than 1/4 inch on each side because that's what they were tested for, 1/2 inch total 1/4 on each side. I have 1 1/2 inches on each side THE NOA STATES NOT GO OVER 1/4 inch (NOA = Notice of acceptance). PGT confirmed that Dovi ordered the wrong doors and it shouldn't be like that. I had to hire an attorney to seek a resolution. Meanwhile, everytime it rains, the doors leak and Dovi adding a little piece of metal, red guard, zip tape and caulk is not not working at all. I highly recommend Dovi Windows!! They are great. We contracted to replace all of the windows and two French doors in our New Smyrna Beach home. Dovi's installers are perfectionists and true artisans. They will not settle for anything mediocre. If a window doesn't come out perfectly, they will re-do the install on the spot on their own initiative. The installers are attention-to-detail fanatics. Plus, it shows that they love and take great pride in their work. The lead installer, Joe, was great and always answered our questions and made sure to ask us for our preferences if details of the job could have been done several ways. We had an old glass block window that needed to be torn out. Other window companies wouldn't touch it. Joe researched how to take it out before coming to the job and had the whole ugly glass block out in just one hour. The guys who finished up the punch list items, Ray and Jerrod, were just as fantastic as Joe and his helper. We ordered PGT custom fitted windows and the factory wasn't the quickest in an early post-Covid environment. Dovi did not accept anything from PGT that was less than what was exactly ordered and they sent a few things back and made sure that PGT delivered everything exactly how it was ordered. When Dovi bid our job, the owner personally came to our house with the very helpful sales person, Sheri, and they answered all questions and explained all of the pros and cons of the different design and materials that were options. From the bid process (very detailed so you know what you are getting) to installation they are the most professional, thorough, knowledgeable, honest, and most competent company in the area. Their prices are competitive and their installers are the best and most experienced - no sub-contractors here. I thoroughly checked and rejected other window companies. I have seen and heard of too many horror stories locally with other window installers in the area - so beware. Dovi was at the top of the most recommended list by so many local professionals, including my Storm Shutter Installer (APS, also the Best - who also used to install windows; to the local town building department and inspectors). Their installers are meticulous and well worth waiting for - Ray, Will and Austin were beyond phenomenal, very nice, highly professional, respectful and cleaned up afterwards. I replaced all the windows on an investment home I purchased recently in Edgewater. I interviewed three window providers and Dovi Windows edged out the others on price and responsiveness. I was completely satisfied with the qualify of work they provided and the communication as they kept me informed throughout the process. There was some "wait" time for the windows to arrive from the manufacturer (PGT), but that would have been the same with any of the providers. Once they were in they installed them immediately. Kelly came out to take a look and helped with our warranty with the original window supplier. Our windows were installed 13 years ago so it was tricky given that the original installation company had long been out of business. It all worked out. I hired Dovi to install 3 PGT impact windows ,two sliding doors and 2 shower glass doors. The installers cracked three newly installed tiles when anchoring the door hinges. I waited 4 months for Dovi to correct the problem with no attempt to resolve. I had mounting plates made to receive the hinges. Still they did not return to make good on their install I hired another company to finish the job. Dovi could not figure out how to hang the screen door on a OXO slider even telling me the manufacturer did not recommend installing a screen door. I call PGT the rep said that is not true. Referred me to another vender. The bottom guide plate was not installed properly so they had to shorten the door. Like many Florida businesses follow through on jobs is rare. The owner and his son talk a good one but in my case left me hanging and simply could not resolve the problem. It was easier to not return calls and move on. read more
