WORST PROPERTY MANAGEMENT!!!
We are renting one of the offices that they manage. we are a trucking company. we have 2 straight trucks that we park on the side building along with other trucks and vehicles. some of the trucks and vehicles are actually by the fire hydrant and blocking the fire route. For some reason, we are the only one who received the notice to remove our vehicles overnight. We received a 24 hour notice and i called them to asked for an extension, i called the number on the notice and i explained the reason for my call and where i am calling from, she approves the extension for a couple of days. The next day when i am about to move my trucks, i find out that they had already towed my 2 trucks the day before AFTER i called to ask for an extension. Now the person who answer the calls denies giving me approval because she failed to relay the message and now the towing company wants to charge me $4000 plus daily storage fees of $300 per day! That's absurd! Downing refuses to handle this mistake on their end. All they kept saying is you are not suppose to park there so you got towed, too bad! How can someone say that? she didn't try to help me at all! she even called me a liar saying i didnt call even though i can prove that i did call from my phone. i have the exact time and everything. why would i lie about the exact time. She said i could have just dialed the number and didn't speak to anyone. i said the phone call shows i spoke to someone! Anyhow, i am taking them to court and filing complaints to everyone. Property Management in my experience have been horrible but this company topps it. They should be covering the costs incurred on my end because someone forgot to do their job properly at Downing.
Funny how no one else got towed except me. The other trucks and vehicles blocking the fire route are still there and they didn't get towed. if you want to enforce something, you would typically tow everyone who didn't move their vehicle. I, who asked for an extension, got towed instead.
I will be filing complaints with consumer@ontario.ca and i will be contacting a lawyer regarding this matter. read more
