I was told if i dont have the funds on due date i can come in and pay $75 for extension. Sometimes they give me 3weeks to come back and sometimes 4weeks. For the last 5 months I been paying $75 to extend my time. Last month he told me I had to June 22 to pick up my camera. So i always ask for something in writing they never give it to me im always told sir your good we have it written down. So i write reminders in google calendar before i get in my car because it just seems weird i get no copy of receipt or anything... On the 21st of June my phone beeps...its the reminder to pay for another month....So i say to myself maybe i can go now and pay the $75 but it was closing time.... So i called and said my camera is due tomorrow i was tryn to make it today but i see u guys close at 5:30pm so i be there in the morning to pay another $75. So he says what are u talkn about.... I repeat my name and my camera so he says hold...owner comes back on phone and says we pulled your camera on the 16th its sold already. So i said see this is why i always asked for something in writing because i had a feeln u guys would try something. I said sir i was told i have until June 22nd. U told me your going to give me a couple extra days because i been so ploite.... Now u telln me u sold my camera... He says i didnt say i sold it i said i pulled it. So i says sir any other pawn shop calls or notified the customer before their merchandise is sold... He asked who does that? I said Lou's Pawn shop does it because they done it to me....He says well im not a pawn shop i only pawn jewelry electronics i buy and the customer has to buy it back....So im like thats weird ya business name is Darby Pawn but your not a pawn shop....so he asked me what made me call on the 21st if the due date is the 22nd. I said sir my phone just reminding me to pay on camera tomorrow. I have it set to alert a day before and 2pm the day of. So it reminding me but its already 5:20pm i was gonna try and come today but u close in 10mins no way i can make it. Beings that i already feel skeptical i always call u guys ahead if time. So where going back & forth on date so eventually he says give me ya number and I'll check around my other stores....so I say ok sir......Today he calls me at 1:33pm and says Jameel i say yes he hangs up. I call right back someone answers i say hello someone jus called and ask for me and hungs up..... He says yes it was me im the owner.... He says Jameel I have your camera... He says u know no one is perfect i made mistakes before and I could have told u the 22nd and wrote something different...He said i was telln my guys Jameels a great guy he comes in he's respectful he keeps his word so his camera is here he can pick it up......So i say thank u sir I will be there today with $575 to pick up my camera. He says no problem....I called back at 5pm and say this is Jameel I be there in exactly 8mins he says ok......I arrive with $575 I see my camera box sitting on his counter....So some short beer belly guys walks up and says let me see ya phone.....from that point i knee its something shady going down. I said sir u just called me and apologize and said u not perfect ppl make mistakes. So he says no one called u.....im like yo are u serious so short beer belly guy asked each employee did u call him they all replied no....I said sir someone from this shop called ...then he say it was me im the owner.....So im like why are u playn games u just no one called me...i say the other day u told me u not a pawn shop now i get hear and it says Darby Pawn...so i asked sir what is really going on here because u doing a lot of playn... I said why call me and apologize and say these nice things about me if u gonna scam me when i arrive.....then he says no one called u i said u jus said out ya mouth u called me....the entire time im there im recording because buy this time i realized something shady is going on.... Even his employees were didnt agree what with he was doing to me.....So the short big belly guy that kept sayn he called me then say he didnt call says the only way i can get my camera back i have to show him my calender on my phone....i go to my car first i grab wrong phone so i see my other phone on floor....i grab the phone and started opening up google calendar the short big belly guy standing right in back of me. So i show him june 22th it clearly days sony camera darby pawn.... Then he says i jus wrote that... I said are u kidding me your standing right in back of me and who can unlock there phone because my phone has a code to get to home screen. This is a cheap samsung A20, its not a galaxy 22....Sir it take 10 seconds jus for it to load before u can open any app. So how can i jus write a reminder in 3-5 seconds with u standing right in back of me....

Just for them to turn around and sell whatever you gave them for triple the price if you want a really good pawn shop, take the extra 20 minute drive to Springfield and go to we buy everything, they have gotten a lot better and Aston pawnshop has gone downhill. Sorry to say, but it's the truth. The one thing I will give Aston props for is having good customer service.

My family member lost about $9,000 worth of gold jewelry & silver that was pawned and when the owner, Jon Zeitz, got the payout from the insurance company, he only offered to pay them $3,500 minus the interest. Helloooo! You don't charge interest on a pawn that you failed to secure because you neglected to keep the contract. It was discovered that the pawns that were supposed to be locked in a safe were left unsecured and there were several employees. He still owes my family member this money until this day. Jon, you need to pay this debt because you know that you did not lock your pawns away like you should have and quite frankly you had too many hands in the pot so no wonder the theft occured. If you want to get your pawned items back, do not use this pawn shop. As a matter of fact, I do not recommend using this pawn shop for anything.
