I called Imported Car Service they immediately squeezed my son into their schedule same day, replaced his battery and cables in a timely fashion. I am so relieved to have found this wonderful repair shop and can now rest easy being that I am on the Westside knowing that my son's car is in very capable hands. Thank you!

Do not take your car to Import Auto Repair (IAR) for repairs. Instead, go to a trustworthy…read moredealership. I own an MB C-300, and when the engine light came on, I took it to IAR because it was a local shop, and the nearest dealership is 80 miles away. IAR ran a diagnostic (charging $200) and determined that the air injection reactor pump was broken. They ordered the part and replaced it (costing $800). However, two days later, the engine light came back on. I returned the car to IAR, and they told me that Bosch must have sent a defective part. They ordered a new pump and replaced it again. But just two days later, the engine light came on once more. This time, IAR ran more tests and told me that a module was broken and needed replacement at the dealership since they didn't have the tools to fix it. So, I took my car to the dealership. However, the dealership recommended running a diagnostic again because the module that IAR identified was expensive and non-refundable. If they pre-ordered the part and it turned out I didn't need it, I'd still have to pay for it. After running their own diagnosis, the dealership discovered that a fuse was missing, which was causing the issue. They added the fuse and fixed the problem. I went back to IAR and told the owner, Carl, that a fuse had been missing, implying that they hadn't properly checked the car. Carl denied this, stating they had never touched any fuses and abruptly ended the conversation by saying, "Goodbye." How professional! When I got home, I reviewed the invoice from the first repair, and to my surprise, there was a charge for a fuse. This meant that either IAR had worked on a fuse, or they charged me for a part that was never actually used. I called Carl and mentioned the fuse. He chuckled and told me they had "put in and out fuses." So, it turns out, IAR was the one who forgot to replace the fuse. The bottom line is that Carl runs a dishonest business, and now I'm questioning whether the air injection reactor pump was ever actually broken in the first place.

I would strongly caution anyone considering Heritage Auto Repair…read more We brought in our 2018 Nissan Murano because of a screeching noise. Heritage diagnosed the problem as a serpentine belt and tensioner and charged us over $560 to replace them. The very next morning the exact same noise returned. When we contacted them again and sent a video, they told us it was actually a wheel bearing issue and quoted another $1,150 for repairs. At this point we lost confidence and sought another opinion. A different shop diagnosed the actual problem immediately: the transfer case, which explained the noise and the acceleration issues. So to summarize: * Heritage charged us $560 for a repair that did not fix the problem * They then misdiagnosed the issue again as wheel bearings * The real issue was the transfer case, which they completely missed What is most concerning is that they were prepared to perform another $1,150 repair that would not have solved the problem either. Good mechanics diagnose problems before charging customers for unnecessary work. This experience felt like guessing at repairs while the customer pays the bill. I would recommend anyone experiencing drivetrain or noise issues get a second opinion before authorizing repairs here.

On the flip side, you get what you pay for. It seems these guys buy cheap parts from O'Reilly's to get the job done - hence the low prices. They also do sloppy work. More than once after picking up my car from their shop I have noticed that although the previous problem was fixed, there was now a new problem that didn't exist before. The particular experience that caused me to look elsewhere: Once I took the Subaru in to have a noise originating from the wheel well looked at. They told us that the left front break pad was the problem. After they had replaced it, I continued to hear the noise. Only after I had taken the car to McKeirnan's was the noise eliminated: The issue was a wheel bearing, not a brake pad. The misdiagnosis cost us time and money. Since then I go to McKeirnan's.

I'd give 4.5 stars if I could…read more The Good: 1. I feel Evergreen has put more effort into communication than most. I have above average tools and mechanic knowledge, but I don't have much time. I like to understand, more than most, what is being done and why. They have always taken pictures and even videos showing me exactly what the issue is. I have appreciated this. 2. They have worked with me when I bring in my own tires and parts. Some other shops have been less than ecstatic when I have pre-purchased the replacement tires or parts. 3. Evergreen has done well combining labor totals; for example when two things need to be done, but half of one job is done by another... ie. if it takes an hr to pull everything apart and two different items need to be replaced once apart, they have not charged me twice for the same first hr of work. Some shops don't pay attention and total up shop hrs for all work regardless. (usually they are charging from a predetermined amount, and if they don't manually tell the computer to adjust, the computer won't know to adjust. for the two similar jobs.) 4. Fletcher working the counter has always been positive, and had things in order. 5. In my experience they've had better than average knowledge of lifted vehicles. The Bad: 1. In my experience they cost more than other similar shops in the area. Other: 1.Not everything has been perfect, I had 35" tires balanced pretty poorly, massive wobble at most speeds, but when I brought the truck back they took care of the issue quickly and did not recharge me for the re-balance. 2. They looked at, but would not work on my supercharged e46 M3. They referred me to PDQ in Lewiston as they felt they were unqualified. I actually appreciated this. I want things done well and like to know I can trust them to tell me before they get into something they can not correctly remedy.
