I knew the guy at…read morethe front counter as he used to work at another repair shop so I bumped into him and asked where he was working so hence I ended up at Eddies. They went over my car with a fine tooth comb and called me with extra repairs that needed to be done. So I had it all repaired and was told I needed new tires, which I knew about. I went the next day and shopped around and order new tires from Michelin tires there newest sport tire which took a month to come in as my car takes two sizes. Very pleased with the workmanship and quality of work preformed. Will be going back for any other repairs. I just got back from a one week work vacation where I put 2700 klms on my car and it ran like new, but it has developed a loud noise under the car when traveling between 5 to 10 klms an hour, so I'll be back on Monday to see if they can figure out what it is.

THEN they made me wait for a few more hours only to wait for their call they hadn't even looked at it again they were waiting for me to say yes to the part before they looked any further . I went in for them to inspect and then repair for free, but they told me there was no problem. I went to parkside (I recommend them) who confirmed the issue. I went back with the confirmation of the issue and now they agree and repair. At the 13 month mark my other caliper starts leaking. I go in, and they'll do the repair but I'll have to pay labor because it's more than a year. I don't even trust them to do the work. I could have and should have done it all myself initially, I'm paying for my laziness still. This is all on top of their general untrustworthiness. I would expect that if you went in to a mechanic for an issue and what you thought was wrong was not actually wrong, then they would tell you and not do the work and charge you for it. Speedy are not a good mechanic like that. They'll happily take your money. They changed my steering pump at my request when the issue was actually the shaft bearing being rusty.

They removed all 4 wheels and said our brakes were good. They charged us for inspecting the brakes but were honest about the fact that our brakes were good. When we got home we brought the van to our regular mechanic. They confirmed what Fairfield mechanic had said and replaced the brake sensors which solved the problem. It was scary to have mechanical trouble while traveling and on a limited time schedule. They were kind and honest. We are so grateful that Fairfield auto helped us when we were far from home!

Of course, the problem immediately went silent and the car drove perfectly. On the fourth lap of the block, the elusive problem finally reared it's head. The fine people at Midas had it diagnosed, fixed and back on the road within 10 minutes. There was a pebble caught somewhere in the braking system. I took it to a garage in town, and they charged me $300 to replace the gasket and studs on the front exhaust pipe. Three weeks later, I was on the Malahat Highway and all of a sudden my car sounded like the Beverly Hillbilly's car. Motorbike riders were jealous! And there was a bad smell of exhaust coming in the car. I went to Midas on Government Street and Rob had a look. It turns out that the job that was done 3 weeks earlier had come apart. Rob had to order parts and do the repair over. Now here comes the kicker: I was only charged $72! I was over the moon! This was my best garage experience ever. The quote was $102, but Rob didn't need one of the parts, so it was cheaper!! Midas on Government have a customer for life. It's so nice to be treated so well! Thanks, Rob!
