I wouldn't mind going downtown on a lot of Dallas much like Debbie once did Dallas. But that's another story for another eve. Downtown Dallas is pretty beautiful from afar. Not as gorgeous as Houston though, nor quite as big. Not nearly as grand and big looking. Speaking of grand, I love Ariana Grande. Once you get inside downtown Dallas, it is sort of an elongated stretch along 3 roads where the traffic can get really annoying. The Houston Downtown which is one big blob is a lot easier to navigate, because it is spread out, and not just using three main roads to traverse the neighbourhood. I have yet to find anything really amazing to eat or drink in this neighborhood (although when I first used to come here, I was in love with a Pizza place here), but just across the freeway in Deep Ellum you will find Bobaddiction and Jimmy's which are two of the best places in the region. Meerut is a few miles Northwest, and is the best place to eat in all of DFW. The best food and drinks: In DFW get Meerut Kebab - the best Chicken Boti and Karahi you'll ever have. That's the top 5 in Houston place, btw. Amazing service too. https://www.yelp.com/biz/meerut-kabob-house-dallas Burger Xtreme is good, too - a very good burger indeed. Dumplings from "Dumpling" inside H-Mart in Carrollton is excellent. And Quoc Bao's Shredded Pork Banh Mi might be the best of its kind in the whole country. The other locations are in OKC. https://www.yelp.com/biz/burger-extreme-arlington-2 https://www.yelp.com/biz/quoc-bao-bakery-garland For drinks, try Bobaddiction (the waffle and the berry teas), and try Okinawa Milk tea from Sharetea, and Brown Sugar Milk Tea from Fruitealicious.

The architect's name should be familiar as he also designed the Milwaukee Art Museum, the World Trade Center Transportation Hub in Manhattan and the Auditorio de Tenerife among other absolutely stunning buildings. Margaret Hunt Hill (1915-2007) was a major philanthropist to a number of Dallas charities and was the daughter of oil tycoon H. L. Hunt. This is a cable-stayed bridge that opened in 2012 and connects downtown Dallas to West Dallas. The stunning 40-story center-support arch is a major feature of the Dallas skyline. It is 1206 feet long, connected with 58 white strands that connect along the center of the bridge. It almost likes like a musical instrument that might be played by a giant! There is no toll to cross the bridge. It is for vehicles only, with the adjacent Ronald Kirk Bridge converted to a pedestrian and cycling bridge. [Review 758 of 2024 - 517 in Texas - 21789 overall]

As with anything being developed here, it was controversial on all fronts. I have to admit I was skeptical at first. Primarily because I'm attached to the original bridges spanning the Trinity river that have been here in use for 100 years. The oldest of these bridges was (and still in use) the Houston Viaduct designed and engineered by a woman. This new bridge was named for Margaret Hunt Hill the socialite, businesswoman, and philanthropist. she was the daughter of Hunt one of the first to discover oil in Texas and instrumental in Dallas growth. Unfortunately, I didn't capture the best vantage point of this bridge but, it's become a good love addition to the Dallas landscape. Check it out when in Dallas
