    Hunt to hill

If there's a specific hill where you go hunting, it's Hunt Hill, and Thatcher used to use this one (Margaret Hunt Hill), but since hunting and guns should obviously be banned permanently and completely, we'll change the subject. To this, which is another great bridge over the river here in Dallas and one which we crossed on so very many occasions. Definitely one of the better bridges in the area and part of a series of bridges that go across the low wet flats to the west of downtown... part of the lovely and lush and cool areas to the west of downtown. This bridge offers wonderful views of the Metroplex from here for sure.

This is a really cool bridge, for both its functional and its architectural/aesthetic value. There is also a great walkable pedestrian section and play area. I suggest going across the pedestrian walk area when the Trinity is full or over-full, as it's very photogenic when the river is flowing. It's usually pretty crowded on the weekends and I've always felt safe, even at night, within this area. And perhaps most importantly, I've always been able to find a place to park nearby for free. :)

Hard to miss the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge when you are driving around Dallas. It is a sight to behold especially that stunning arch!! It crosses over the Trinity River, and it connects West Dallas to downtown. There is a pedestrian bridge called the Ron Kirk bridge which travels parallel to the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge. We walked a short distance along it to take better photos of the Margaret Hunt. No time to walk the entire distance. Good spot to admire the Dallas skyline and take some pictures. Did a little research on the bridge. It opened in 2012, and the architect of this beauty is Santiago Calatrava. He is also the architect of my favorite pedestrian bridge which is called the Sundial Bridge in Redding, California. Margaret Hunt Hill was an American heiress and philanthropist. Definitely check out the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge when in Dallas. It is a "Must See" destination.

The Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge is just off downtown Dallas over the Trinity River. The design of the structure resembles a twisted suspension bridge adorned with lights. What I really liked about the bridge is actually the existence of a pedestrian bridge parallel to it where you can walk from one end to the other with many photo opportunities at a perfect picture-taking distance. The bridge itself is quite nice at night and provides a great contrast to the downtown Dallas skyline. During the day however, looking out toward the bridge from downtown I found the bridge structure quite odd and plain as without the lights or downtown background scenery. I would personally stick to visiting this at night for the lights and skyline.

This bridge is a must see in the Dallas area! I like that you can walk around the bridge. You can ride around here on scooters and bikes as well. They have a strict 11pm close policy so be sure to not go too late. I really enjoyed walking over here for sightseeing and taking in the views of the water. Nice place to do something for free but sometimes parking can be an issue.

I had heard about this bridge before visiting Dallas and being the type of photographer who does almost anything to get a good shot, decided to make this my main subject and was the first place I visited this time around. It's a nice looking bridge but south of the bridge is a scary area. They have old houses along with warehouses and such and absolutely no parking. At night, the place is even scarier but the damn thing does look majestic as hell with the skyline in the backdrop so it might be worth the risk of getting carjacked or murdered to come and visit. I certainly did enjoy taking pictures of it and am still here to talk about it. As for the purpose of the bridge? I'm not from around here so you tell me.

Nice place to run or walk or just stand and watch the city go about its business. Went there one evening and got some cool pictures of the bridge. Parking was easy and the place was well lit. Got hassled by a panhandler, but overall good experience.

Good place for walking out with the family or friends! There is a small bridge west of the bridge, which has food trucks, pretty flowers, retro lawn chairs, and a geometric playground. The best time to go is after sunset (although the sun setting isn't on the same side of the bridge). I recommend visiting the bridge while the water in the Trinity River is up (due to a record-breaking rainfall in May). Overall, go there! It is now a landmark of the Dallas skyline! Just a note: This bridge is designed by the Spanish architect, Calatrava!

What a glorious new addition to the Dallas Skyline! I am so happy to have this Calatrava bridge symbolizing a fresh, new direction for Dallas. And can't wait for it's purpose of uniting Dallas to take form. The arch looming over I-35 demands such a presence that you can't take your eye of the beauty. The meticulously placed cables intertwining to create an optical illusion of sorts denotes a playfulness in appropriate opposition to the stark white hue and industrial piping that constitutes the arch. I love it and I am proud to call it ours.

How about the parking? Where do.i need to park to walk over the bridge?

You could either park in one of the Trinity Groves lots or you could park in the side lot in the southwest corner right next to the bridge!

This area has SO many attractions and events. The restaurants go from sandwiches, fantastic burgers, BBQ, to international fares from around the world! Desserts include exquisite chocolates, cakes, Asian shave iced, fried pies, fine baked pies and ice cream. Let's not forget the drinks of fine wines to super craft beers! There is the Kirk Pedestrian bridge nearby which makes this spot special for the kids! It has a playground nearly the full length (lots of kid friendly spots the full length) besides the intended kid playgrounds. There are places to sit and lounge. Places to sit and converse. And a long pathway to run, walk, gab and sight see. The BEST attraction at Trinity Groves is the view! In daylight, the view of the Margaret Hunt-Hill Bridge is gorgeous with the back drop being the city of Dallas skyline. At night, is the ULTIMATE attraction, the fanciful and delightful ever changing colorful neon/LED building lights behind the well lit Margaret Hunt-Hill Bridge. This trip, the full moon over this view made it spectacular! Bring a date, bring the kids, bring your dog or come alone. It is impressive! You will enjoy it!

We were fortunate there was no cloud cover! You could see for miles from the Ball's point of view at 470 feet up. The Reunion Tower itself is a 561 ft observation tower in Dallas, and one of the city's most recognizable landmarks. We spent about 30 min checking out the views and eventually made our way back down the elevator. Overall, it was a nice experience! But for the price we paid, I did expect a bit more! The Tower looked like a lollipop and was only 20 mins walk from our hotel. At one point we found ourselves on the train tracks and could see the Tower but couldn't quite see how to get there as there was no signage or directions. Eventually, we had to walk around and go under a bridge to get to the other side and walked towards the Tower. Even the entrance had no signage. It did have the name of the restaurant Crown Block and also Hyatt Hotel but nothing about the Tower. Anyway, we walked in and went downstairs. Tickets were $19 and can be bought from the kiosks. As we walked to the line, you get to have your photo taken with a green screen. There are props you can use on the right counter if needed. In the elevator you can see outside as you are going up. I just wished the glass was facing the city instead of Trinity river and the two Margaret sister bridges. You can see all the freeways overlapping like spaghetti. At the top, there is a little area with a few tables and chairs. I guess you can bring a lunch or snack whilst enjoying the views. The restrooms are really clean up there. Outside, there are telescopes available and info about the skyline. However, it was awfully windy and cold in January. The staff were really friendly and helpful with any questions you have. We found out the photos taken earlier, could be viewed at the kiosks by scanning the barcode on your ticket. They email the photos to you for free or you can buy a physical copy from them. Overall, it was a nice visit. Have to say, there were hardly any people around. I guess it was off peak tourist season, so it was nice not having the crowds and long lines.
