Wow! This place blew me away with their superior customer service and extremely friendly and accommodating assistance. I'm from NYC and needed flowers delivered to an event the same night to a theatre in LA as a surprise, so the delivery part was tricky. I've walked past Downtown Flowers countless times on my way to lunch or the post office, but never stopped inside because I assumed they'd be overpriced based off their location. A few weeks ago, we found their website while researching florists for a company dinner, and I was so surprised at how reasonably priced their arrangements were. We decided to try them out, and couldn't have been more pleased with the experience. Barbara was the person we worked with, and she was super helpful in person, over the phone, and via email. I had a very specific sort of "feel" I wanted for the flowers and provided photos of the types of arrangements that appealed to me. They got it spot on and gave us six really pretty and super cheerful arrangements for our dinner. (We ordered balloons, too!) Everyone couldn't stop commenting about how pretty the arrangements were. But I definitely think it's worth it to go through Downtown Flowers for their quality and consistency. You can order day of for same-day delivery, which is also a plus. I ordered a $50 for $75 voucher on yelp from this company in August. I tried to use it that same week in august for my girlfriends birthday, however the lady on the phone said she couldn't take accept my voucher because it was expired, except nowhere on the voucher deal or on the voucher itself says the deal was already expired. So I said 'ok give me a refund then. She said " you need to call yelp for the refund". I read the fine print from yelp and they say I need to deal with the merchant. So I'm getting tossed back and forth for a refund, but come to think of it, that's the merchant and yelps problem not mine. Why should I have to resolve my $50.00? Wow, I was visiting for a long weekend and wanted to surprise my wife with some flowers in the hotel room before we checked in. The hotel suggested Downtown Flowers. Net and I called. I checked the website prior and got the sunflower arrangement. Gabriel took the order and said the shop had done deliveries to the hotel before. I used to really like this place. I would pick up little arrangements for my colleagues' birthdays and other special events. Then I ordered flowers for a neighbor's funeral...The arrangement was not on display at the service, and the family said they did not receive anything either. However, the flower shop claims that they delivered the flowers to the church and ultimately only refunded me 50% of what I paid. The delivery person says he dropped the arrangement off on the altar while the priest was conducting a prayer service, so he just placed the arrangement and left (he could not provide any proof of delivery). This really ticked me off. I paid them to deliver flowers for a specific funeral service. The flowers didn't show up at said service, so I should be refunded 100% of the cost because the merchandise and service were not provided as paid for. It is the vendor's responsibility to make sure they get to the right place. That didn't happen, and they were not willing to accept the responsibility. Honestly, had I known they would not be liable for missing deliveries, I would not have ordered from them. I would have gone with 1-800-Flowers or something. So much for trying to support a local business! read more
